  1. I painted this one earlier this fall as a Halloween theme, orange and black. I missed it by a few days but I'll build this one next. The paint is Tamiya Orange and Dupli-Color Ebony Black. I rubbed it out yesterday and touched it up. The seats and door panels were previously painted white but I may change them to orange. I've built this one before with frenched headlights and taillights but this one will be more box stock. I'll detail the engine a bit and that will be about it. Thanks for looking! ?
  2. Thanks, Carl! Yes, I have built the 66 several times. I built this one just to get it out of the closet. This one is done. I am always disappointed with this kit as the hood and front bumper/grill doesn't fit right. The rear bumper is also not a gooyd fit. But I did the best I could. Too much room in the engine compartment even though I close it down considerably. I added the foil on the rockers and a red pinstripe to separate the colors. Stance and wheels, paint and foil look OK. That's about all I can do with it. Thanks for looking! ?
  3. Thanks, Marcos and Carl! I appreciate your comments! Finished the engine, interior, and wheels and tires mounted are mounted. I don't have photos of the interior as I just did it stock and added a seat belt and harness that I found in the parts box on the driver's seat. The engine has braided plug wires and I used Tamiya Smoke on the chrome blower assembly. I'll add a upper radiator hose and battery to finish the engine bay. Its a little more filled up in the engine bay but it still looks like there is a lot of room. I found a set of wheels from a Jo-Han 69 Plymouth GTX that are racing wheels and tires. Small front tires and rear drag slicks. I'll add some blackwash to the wheels. I reverse engineered the very complex front and rear suspensions in order to move the wheels and tires more outboard. I may add the rear axle and driveshaft or maybe not. I want to wrap up this turd as soon as possible! Thanks for looking! ?
  4. Thanks, Jack! I hope you are doing well and I appreciate your comment! Finished boxing up the engine bay. Found a radiator with electric fan in the parts box. Once I have the blower belt, blower, etc. on the engine I think it will look like it fills the engine bay with some power. I might even add plug wires. Thanks for looking! ?
  5. I'm going to build this MPC kit as a weekend warrior. I painted the body Dupli-Color Dark Toreador Metallic on the bottom and Testors Diamond Dust on the top. I've foiled it just like stock but still need to finish the foil on the rockers and I used foil for a paint divider. I might try to find a red decal to use as a pinstripe paint divider later. This MPC tooling is so old that I thought I should at least try to fix it a bit and probably should have done this before I painted, but better late than never. First I remove the awful screw radiator support and relaced it with a piece of Evergreen plastic and painted it black. Next, I am going to close up the sides and front with plastic along the inner fenders and between the radiator support and grill. I am hoping to close up this huge engine bay so that the engine doesn't look like a pipsqueak in this large open bay. I am going to use the blower motor and the accompanying hood. Sorry for the poor photos but I am still trying to adjust to a new camera. Thanks for looking! ?
  6. Thanks, Car! I appreciate your comment! ?
  7. Thanks, All! I appreciate your comments! ?
  8. Just finished! Paint is Dupli-Color Bright Aqua Metallic and Krylon Satin Black for the interior. Added plug and coil wire, fuel line with filter, and heater hoses to the engine. Tire decals are Fireball Modelworks. Flag and Super Sport decals from the stash. This is a very simple great Revell kit!
  9. Nice work, Jeremy! Do the blacked out windows mean that it is curbside? The paint looks great considering there is no clear.
  10. Thanks, Steve and Mike! I appreciate your comments! This one is done! Thanks for looking!
  11. Thanks, Carl! I appreciate your comment! Its on wheels! Should be done later today! I couldn't find any tires that fit these wheels in the kit and I wanted to use them since I like the rally wheels. I added Fireball Modelworks Goodyear Eagle ST decals to the tires but I have to get them to suck down better. Thanks for looking! ?
  12. Thanks, Jeremy! I appreciate your comment! The engine bay is done. Found a couple of decals in addition to the one on the air cleaner so I added them. Engine has plug wires, fuel line and heater hoses. Interior is done and installed and the chassis is glued down. Just have to finish the chassis suspensions, exhaust pipes and wheels and tires and this one will be on wheels. Thanks for looking! ?
  13. Thanks, Carl! I'm not sure what to do with it yet. The top and tulip on the GTO have what appears to be an errant pass with the paint that will not rub out. Should I call this silvering? LOL! This often happens with silver paint. I'll have to touch up, but the weather is not cooperating at the moment. We do need the rain though. So I moved on to the engine for the 67 Chevelle. I added plug wires and a fuel line with fuel filter. i just need to add a couple of decals and the engine will be done. Thanks for looking! ?
  14. Thanks, Carl! I'm with you on the interior and the chassis and engine are not much better. That's why I'm thinking of doing this as a drag car with the blown engine and alternative hood. I won't have to pay that much attention to the interior as well with the roll bar, etc. I painted the body today from start to finish. Primer, bottom color, top color and clear. It was a little scary taping off the bottom color after about 1.5 hours but it worked. I'll let it dry overnight and rub out in the morning. I painted both hoods so I could go with a custom paint job or drag car. The paints are Dupli-Color Quick Silver Metallic and Dark Toreador Metallic. I did foil the GTO emblems prior to paint so I will remove the paint tonight. Thanks for looking! ?
  15. Thanks, Joe! Those walks to school probably could make the school day! I'm getting another body ready. This is the MPC 67 Pontiac. I really don't care for this kit that much but it ended up in my closet. My wife ran across it at a JoAnn Fabric store, of all places, for about $20 so she picked it up. I've built it a couple of times and I know the complaint about the grill, headlight, bumper but I may build it as a drag car this time. Thanks for looking! ?
  16. Looking good, Bob! You did a real nice job polishing it out! ??
  17. Thanks, Mike and Carl! I appreciate your comments! Mike, sorry to hear that. Its always painful to pay the $13 -$16 for PE, half of which is not useable, and then screw up a couple of scripts. I used to use a lot of PE but now try to do without. Not worth the cost and pain when screwed up. Finished the interior and I am still trying to get use to my new camera. I did manage to get a couple of photos to take. I need to touch up the steering wheel a bit, it appears. Thanks for looking! ?
  18. Thanks, All! I appreciate your comments! Finished the foil, found some decals that I could use for the flags and Super Sport script. I forgot to foil the scripts and flags before paint so I had to use decals. I foiled the Chevelle script on the hood but it is hard to make out. The engine compartment was taped off and painted and the water bottle looks good. On to the interior as I'm not going to be able to paint for days! Thanks for looking! ?
  19. Thanks, Trevor, Bob and Tony! I appreciate your comments! Good luck Tony on your build. My advice is to build the front suspension before you attach the interior platform so you have more room to work and adjust the suspension. Also, the brake rotors may be too much of this build as I had to move the right wheel all the way onto the axle in order to get it to stick out only a bit. I don't think they should stand outside the front fender by half the width of the tires as some I have seen. Thanks for looking! ?
  20. Looks good, Bob! If you decide to re-paint I would suggest finding a lacquer like Dupli-Color or the Tamiya as they both are more consistent in metallic.
  21. Thanks, Don and Csaba! Csaba, good to hear from you! I hope you are still building too!
  22. Thanks, Larry, Carl and Tim! I appreciate your comments! Tim, I don't know why I have sprint car on there. The box says Dodge Dart and I think I read sprint car somewhere while researching. The box also says late Model Sportsman as well so I have corrected the title. Thanks for pointing that out and thanks for looking! ?
  23. Thanks, All! I appreciate your comments! David, your El Camino looks good! I rubbed out the paint and the finish looks good. The color is a little darker than Marina Blue and has a hint of green in it but I like it. I added the first pieces of foil. I've gotten all the other parts painted and now have six kits ready for assembly. Its been raining a bit today and a storm is going to pass through tonight so I'll be content to finish the foil on this one and maybe get another body ready for later in the week. Thanks for looking! ?
  24. Thanks, all! I appreciate your comments! Mike, funny but I just bought a 66 Chevelle by AMT on the shelf at Hobby Lobby. I thought about getting started on it right away but as you can see some kits need some shelf time in my closet. LOL! The price of the new kits though is $36. Even with 40% off it was $24 with tax. Getting pretty expensive. I like all the Revell chevelles and hope I won't be disappointed with the AMT 66 which I haven't seen before. I'm sure its a re-issue with some new stuff but Its probably been awhile since it has been issued. I'll probably go with a black interior. I'll have to pull up a few photos. Thanks for looking!
  25. Thanks, Scott, Carl and Bob! I appreciate the comments! Carl, yes I am still painting but stopped long enough while it was raining early last week to put together a NASCAR Richard Petty Dodge Dart that is Under Glass and WIPS. I painted a 67 Chevelle today in WIPS. Thanks for looking! ?
