  1. Thanks, Carl! I appreciate your comment! This one is done. I would describe all my mistakes on this one but it would take too long! Sorry for some of the blurry photos. Still working on the camera. Thanks for looking!
  2. Thanks, All! I appreciate your comments! Finished the engine with plug wires, breather tubes and fuel line. Heater hoses were added once the body was installed with the chassis and interior. Mounting the body onto the chassis was a tight fit and I broke the fan belt below the alternator but re-glued it together. Forgot to add the tube from the radiator support to the pulley on the fan belt assembly. Then when tried to add the larger tires and Cragars I broke three tits on the axle ends. I thought with those broken and all the other problems I have had, I will just add the kit wheels and save the larger tires and Cragars for another build. So I set about to fix the axles, reduce the size of the kit wheel backs because they are too deep, and make other adjustments to make sure everything fit well and the wheel position was good. It was a long day but its on wheels! Thanks for looking! ?
  3. Looks great, Harry! I can't see any of the issues you mentioned. Outstanding build! ??
  4. I like 'em all but the Ranchero is really special! I also built the Digger and it was a fun one. I'll have to get it out and re-build it again as I think it fell apart. Nice work! ??
  5. Looks good, D! The paint finish is great! Nice work! ??
  6. Finished the interior. The New Year is not off to a good start as I didn't order my foil or plug wires early enough to keep this build going. So I took a few days off and now are back on track on this one. Thanks for looking! ?
  7. Very nice builds, Greg! Your paint finish looks great! Would you mind sharing your process for painting, polishing, etc?
  8. Bernard, your builds are so ol' school cool! Beautiful work! ??
  9. They all look good, Mike! Keep 'em coming! ??
  10. Thanks, Carl and Jeremy! I appreciate your comments! I re-thought the interior and went with black and white. Just have to foil and detail now. Thanks for looking!
  11. Thanks, All! I appreciate all the very kind comments! ?
  12. Jeremy, I found it easier to tape off the canisters and the battery before paint. The cannisters you could leave in white plastic and hand paint the battery. Just a thought!
  13. Thanks, Carl! I appreciate your comment! Well, while I'm waiting on foil, I found an old sheet that had some issues with adhesion. So since I won't be getting new foil for a week or so, I used it. Had to use some white glue at times, especially around the wheel openings, but I finished the body. Then, I installed the rear window trim which is a chrome piece in the kit. It looked awful (see below). So I tore it out and cut some half-round and installed it and foiled it. Its not perfect, but at least it won't stand out like a sore thumb! Thanks for looking! Finished foil on the body (Oops, forgot the rear quarter rocker): Ugly Kit piece: Half-round cut to fit and glued in: Finished!
  14. I'm very impressed with the interior detailing, as well, especially the wood grain, Nice work! ??
  15. Spencer, great builds and theme for the year! Congrats! ??
  16. During 2022 I've built 29 models. My New Year's resolution is to concentrate more on quality and less on quantity. So here are seven of my builds that were all contest winners. I don't have any pretty backgrounds or very good photos but here they are: Revell 1956 Chevy Nomad - 2nd Place Street Machine Revell 1933 Ford Coupe - 3rd place Street Rod Same color as the 1949 Mercury Revell 1949 Mercury Coupe - 1st Place Street Rod in one contest and 1st Place in Street Machine in another. Only plug wires and taillights were added. AMT 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sports Coupe - 2nd Place Street Stock Revell -1969 Dodge Charger R/T - 3rd Place Street Stock - Muscle Revell 1965 Chevy Impala SS - 2nd place Street Stock - Muscle Revell 1969 Chevelle SS - 1st in Street Stock - Muscle
  17. Excellentt builds! I really like the VW Camper as I know someone who has one but its not as cool as yours! ??
  18. Very nice, and a lot of variety! ??
  19. Nice builds! I like 'em all! ??
  20. Everyone has already said it, excellent builds! ??
  21. Those are beautiful builds of a wide variety of subjects! I am envious of your skills! Great work! ??
  22. Last one for 2022! The decals in the kit disintegrated on me so I made my own design out of decals on hand in the stash. Paint is Dupli-Color Super Red with a black and red interior. I added a white decal in the side stainless strip but they are only in the first two photos. Unfortunately, I also cracked the windshield during construction. Since I am gonna leave the wheels without hubcaps I have decided to detail the wheels a bit but that is the only thing undone. Have a Happy New Year everyone and thanks for looking!
  23. Your work looks fantastic, Jim! The magnets are a good idea that I have never tried but want to some time in the future. I love the Tamiya paint and use a lot of it. But I had a bad experience with their Pearl White. It was really thin and just didn't have the body to cover well. I had the same experience with their flat white. Maybe its Tamiya white or maybe its just me. Good luck with the rest of your build! ??
  24. That engine bay is just sensational! Nice work, Joe! ???
  25. Thanks, Carl! I appreciate your comment! This one is done. I've built it several times, but this time I had some problems. First, the windshield crept out a bit after I had the interior glued in. I took it apart to correct it and managed to crack the windshield while taking it out. Second, i couldn't get the hood to sit down. So I took the easy way out and loosened the glue joint between the radiator support and the frame, letting the body rise a bit. Now the hood fits well and I really can't tell any difference in ride height up front. I need to add the white inside the side chrome. I may also add some dog dish hubcaps but I might lose them rolling down the road at high speed! Thanks for looking!
