  1. Hello, since some years I have the dream to do holidays in the USA (later I want to emigrate). I never had enough money to buy this trip. But since this year I'm doing an education here in germany and earn my own money. But it's not enough to pay flight AND hotel. Also I do it alone and it's not so nice. So I had the idea that I can live in a host family for 2 weeks. It's interesting and I see a more of the daily living. Also its cheaper than living in a hotel (I would pay a bit to the host family!). Thats why I write this thread. Has anyone a tip that I find a host family? I have no idea where I should start... Or maybe a forum member is interested to have a guest for 2 weeks? I hope that anyone can help me.
  2. Sure, but I got some other magazines from U.S. and there foreign countries just pay some dollars more and not the twice...
  3. Here is me in Frankfurt/Germany last year. In the background you see the towers of the biggest banks in germany. My hair is much shorter now...
  4. I want a subscription, but first I need a credit card... Sad that I can't pay via PayPal. I just don't understand why the price for the subscription is twice as high for foreign countries than for US and CA...
  5. No one in my family is building models or is interested in it. But ever when I finish a car they say "wow, this looks nice" and like my models. They find them cool but aren't interested in building self.
  6. My biggest and only wish is the 2nd generation Ford Crown Victoria. Its the most used police car in the USA but there is no kit...
  7. After watching your Hot Rod I'm glad to see your progress here!
  8. Wow, this is soooo incredible! Absolutely perfect! But I have a question: How did you made these "rust spots" on the chromed lights and the scratched decals? Maybe you can explain it for "beginners" like me
  9. I love the miniature wonderland. I visited it in last november and its so amazing! You can watch one unit for hours but you find some nice details every some seconds. It is full of nice, funny details! The airport is very impressive, all the lights and flying airplanes and moving vehicles. But they want to build some new units or countries, so I must visit this year again
  10. Thanks for your comments Sure, I will do it. In the last time I'm experimenting with etching and I do photos of every step. I will show them if I have good results.
  11. Wow, my absolutely favorite car! Thanks for reviewing the Tamiya Wash, I saw it often in online hobby shops but I never knew what it is. I will order a bottle in the next time
  12. Here is the lightbar with red and blue smd-leds. I will etch a pcb to drive the leds to simulate the rotating like at the original. (Sorry for the bad quality of the last 4 pics, anyhow the camera had a fail...) This is the actual stand, at the moment I don't have much time. Also I are waiting for a lot of tools and paints I ordered and next week I would build a new spray booth and I can't spray the paints before the spray booth is finished. I hope that you are interested
  13. Hi guys, today I start to show you how I build my Chevrolet Caprice as a police car. I want to install lighting like the original has. The interior: I have modified the grille so that led-flashers can shine from behind. Here is the third brake light Finished the interior Please forgive me if i make mistakes in writing. I'm from germany and I learned english just in school and by watching american films and by reading american magazines. Show me my mistakes so that I learn it right
  14. You should try oven cleaner. The cheap works best. Do the chrome plated parts in a box and spray the oven cleaner over it. after a few minutes or hours, the chrome is away. It doesn't work with every chrome plated parts, but with I think 95% of all it works beautiful.
  15. Here in germany, I use Methoxypropanol PM (also known as Dowanol) for paint stripping. http://www.kremer-pigmente.com/de/product.html?info=7124 I don't know if you get it in US, but it works really easy. I do the painted plastic parts in a box, do a bit of Dowanol on the bottom of the box, pull the cover on it and after an hour, the paint is completely removed.
  16. Wow, that looks nice. Which primer do you use?
  17. On this weekend, I built my new work bench. I'm happy that It works so good. The next project is a spray booth.
  18. Thanks for showing this kit. I want to buy it because I love the Hudsons, but it's hard to find them in germany. So I have to order it in the US.
