  1. I thought the K-H wheels in the Monogram '30 Woody were great hotrod wheels. Hopefully, the new ones are close to these, and will fill out the big n little tires as well as the Torque Thrusts do.
  2. Nice work, the weathering is a great touch!
  3. Looking good - great color!
  4. Nice work!! Those ES kits are are quite the challenge, and your's looks great!
  5. For wires, I use 30awg "wrapping wire" from Radio Shack. It's a single strand wire with a very thin jacket, available in red, white and blue (God bless the USA!), and can be painted. I use a #75 drill bit chucked in an X-Acto knife handle ti drill the holes, and a small drop of CA to glue the wires in place. Here's the tools: Here's an example of the wire un-painted: Here's the same wire, painted black for the plug wires, and red for the positive battery cable. Also used larger wire insulation for plug boots: Hope this helps... Brian
  6. very nice work!!
  7. Painting in the garage is fine. I just move the 1:1 car out first, and have at it. I still wear a repirator though, better safe than sorry...
  8. I needed a part for my Jag XKSS project, and got it free of charge within a week or so. Of course, this was 3 or 4 years ago, sooo...
  9. Now, can something be done with the 13 "pinned" posts at the top? Gotta scroll halfway down the page to get to new topics...
  10. Exactly!! Enamals and lacquers are bad enough, but catylized urethanes are a whole new ballgame. These materials will absolutely wreak havoc on your lungs in a way that makes enamals and lacquers seem harmless (they are not!). As you spray this catylized material, the vapors floating around are still in liquid form, and you end up inhaling them. After they are firmy planted in your lungs, they catylize and harden, just as they do on your model, and are there forever. This isn't something to play around with. It can kill you. Be smart, find a way to exhaust these fumes outdoors, andwere a friggin respirator.
  11. That looks great!!
  12. Is it just me, or do posts with new replies not get moved to the top?
  13. Nice build!! Monogram did a really nice job on these kits, too bad Revell hasn't done a comparable 289 roadster or Daytona kit to go with the other Shelby kits they've done.
  14. I popped in via the old link in my favorites, and was re-directed here. No mass email. I'm kinda on the fence, guess I'm just used to the PHPbb format... EDIT: On second thought, I like the old board better. This board is alot slower loading than the old one, and it seems some features don't want to work with my IE. Gotta switch to Firefox for this board in order to get everything to work.
  15. that chassis and suspension is very cool - nice work!!
  16. Maybe I sounded a little more harsh that I meant to. I actually do hope these kits see the light of day, as these variants will be most welcome. And that is such a shame, because they were the only real bright spot for the hardcore sportscar guys, aside from the high-buck resin kits. I've built one of the original GS Vette kits, and was almost giddy when the Cobras were announced... oh well...
  17. I'm diggin this one!!
  18. I hate to be the buzzkill here, but I don't believe any kit announcement, untill I see it on sale. The last kit announcement I got fired up over has yet to see the light of day, and it was annouced over two years ago. (Accurate Miniatures 289 FIA/SCCA Cobra)
  19. Cool project!!
  20. Funny post! Is Nason available in white like Plastikote?
  21. Beautiful work Bill!!
  22. Nice work - welcome aboard!
