  1. That sucks. I have four bottles for various projects, but there were other colors I put off ordering because of the modelling slump. Oh well, hope everything works out for Leon, he's one of the good guys!
  2. Thanx guys! Had a little time this evening, so I worked on the final shape of the winglets. Now that I see it up on it's wheels, I think I got em right where they need to be. Hoping to really find my muse again and get motivated to get back at the bench more often...
  3. Ok, it's small progress, but at least I got the cobwebs blown off for a bit... The Ferrari kit came with both resin and PE winglets and spoilers. Some time back, I had made a one piece rear spoiler from .020" sheet. This morning, I tackled the front winglets. The resin parts were too thick to look right, and the PE parts are so thin, that they would easily be knocked off. To add strength, I cut slots in the body with a razor saw blade, using the moulded in alignment bosses as a guide. Because the nose of the car is a tad assymmetrical, I used the PE parts as a guide to make new winglets from some .010" sheet. Still need to refine the shapes just a bit, but it'll look good once painted. Is it perfect? no, but niether is the kit, and I can live with it.
  4. That is nice!! I've only built two Vettes, so I'm not at "Corvette Guy" status...LOL!!
  5. Those headers are fitted to a Ford 4.6L DOHC in the Vickie kit, so you'll have to re-work them to fit an SBC.
  6. I hope the '49 Mercury will have a nice flathead with vintage speed parts, or at least a pair of correct ARDUN heads. I wonder what they did to the Chevell Z-16 to make it a 2n1, hopefully just things like wheels/tires, so it can still be built stock. Also be cool of the '30 Woody street rod still has those cool Kelsey Hayes wheels, and even cooler if it had a flathead added in.
  7. Pat - whan ya gonna open a hobby shop?
  8. That's gonna look sweet!
  9. Dan, I also do the work on my site (simple as it is). Feel free to look it over and see if it gives ya any ideas... Brian
  10. Wow! Thanx for posting the pics. I don't have an pics of my 1st ride, but the body looks right to my eye. I agree the JDM bumpers are better looking, but it would be nice to have US spec parts to accurately model the 1:1. Overall, it looks like a decent kit, gotta get one now!
  11. Yes!! Why not a model of "The Car" while we're at it? I've never seen the 340 America before, absolutely beautiful shape! The Lusso would aslo be very welcome in kit form.
  12. That looks great!! Nice build!
  13. the newest "member" MCarter is also a spammer. There are tons of these "new members" on randy's NASCAR board, looks like the spam bots are exploiting a hole in the PHPBB software.
  14. Here's some I'd love to see...never will see these as kits, but hey, you said it's dreamtime... '37 Lincoln Zephyr Lincoln Mark VIII Porsche 550 Spyder RS Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta Ferrari 250 Testarossa (TR57, with "pontoon" fenders) 89-93 Mustang LX coupe Cobra Daytona Coupe Cheetah Jaguar XJ-13 prototype Jaguar C Type Cunningham C4-R Panoz Esperante Saleen S7 2004 Mustang Cobra Jaguar XK8/XKR I'm sure I could come up with more... :-) Brian
  15. Thanx for the info... Definitely gotta keep an eye out for one!
  16. Now THAT is cool!!! Any more pics??
  17. Does it have US spec bumpers or JDM bumpers? Now I have got to keep an eye out for one - thanx!
  18. I use 30AWG "Wrapping wire" from Radio Shack. It's a single strand wire with a thin jacket, and is available in red, white, and blue (God bless the USA!!). It can be painted, but you'll probably have to do a few touchups after the wires are installed. I use a #75 drill for the holes, and insulation stripped from slightly larger wire for spark plug boots.
  19. I wish there was a U.S. spec '76-77 GT liftback kit...then I could build my first car :-)
  20. That's gonna be cool!
