  1. never tried but maybe a 2 part resin with clothing dye or food colouring would work ? Not sure if it would work for large pieces but might for a part/filled container
  2. Closest i can think of are the standard ones in the 65 Bonneville, may have only been in the original issue though.
  3. Left one is Revell (cadet series #904) Vauxhall Cresta - middle is Revell (cadet series #903) Ford Consul - right one. cheers Si
  4. Looking back, seeing as I'm on the other side of the pond to most of you, it was Street Machine mag, who back in the early/mid ?? 80s added the small talk section to the mag. Opened up my eyes to what other people was building.
  5. That is nicely done. Makes you wonder why you don't see more of them. Steve, I think 74 was when the Pontiac 350 was dropped, and in 75 they went with the Buick 350 in its place cheers Si
  6. I remember building & ruining this one as a kid. I remember there was a red one built in the 'small talk' pages of the now defunct 'street machine' mag. They did do a convertible kit of this, pretty sure that the tub for the kit is the conv one & wouldnt be correct for yours. It looks like its a full frame car, if it is I'd think you can leave the inner fenders out. cheers Si
  7. could only add 1 pic for some reason, heres the other one trying again...
  8. Thanks for putting up the Pontiacs, theres more than a few in there i want... Heres a couple more for you, you'll have to ignore the 64 GTO on the Nostalgic Heroes box its really a 71 cheers Si
  9. Nicely saved & finished, always look better with the 8 lugs.
  10. Steve, well spotted, I didn't even notice it.... but then I was overawed by the quality of the spelling.....
  11. Thanks for the replies & advice guys. In hindsight I probably should of junked it when I got it years back. I've a couple other year resin Pontiacs to build and they are of a much better quality than this 'thing', but it did put me off buying resin for a long time. I was probably kidding myself when I thought I could save it. I'll probably keep the hood to use on another build and junk the rest.
  12. Sorry in advance for the long, probably boring, post. But i do have some questions at the end. Bought this years back from ebay as I thought it would be good to build Pontiacs we have over here in the UK. Unfortunately I was slightly wrong. I now wish i hadnt put it away for a rainy day build........... The model has been shortened but not in the right way. It still uses the Bonneville 124" wheelbase not the correct Chevy 119". The lower trim is correct for the Parisienne Sport, as is the hood with PONTIAC on it - neither would be correct for a non Sport Parisienne. The wipers would be wrong for a LHD Parisienne but correct for the RHD version, which uses the Pontiac & not Chevy wipers style. Unfortunately whoever did the master sadly didn't take a great deal of care in checking the spelling for the side & tail panel lettering. 'PARISSIENNE' on the tail light panel 'PARIESIENNE' on one 1/4 'PARISSIENNE' on the other 1/4 Front fender emblems are poor blobs. I'm glad that someone went to the effort of producing it, but the end result is sadly lacking, and its safe to say put me off buying pretty much all resin since. Has anyone built one of these ? Did anyone correct the master & is it still available to buy anywhere ? Or is it a case of thats it, you'll have to make do with what you got ? If its not available, would anyone on here be willing to rectify what i have ? Its way, way beyond my skills. cheers Si
  13. That sucks. But if you can salvage the cowl you can have this body. let me know cheers Si
  14. Picked these up today, some nice pieces to go in the rebuild pile that id been after for a while. Nearly all the promos are warped.
  15. Steve, Im sure someone was selling resin ones chopped & copied from the Airfix Victor estate kit, maybe a year or two back on ebay cheers si
  16. 2nd set look like AMT 64 Mercury
  17. very nice, great choice of color
  18. doesnt seem to be much earlier stuff in any of your lists but theres a few older kits I'd like 56 chrysler new yorker 60 dodge polara 55 dodge sierra station wagon 59 desoto diplomat 2dr 35/36 dodge 5window coupe 34-37 chrysler airflow late 30s airflow tanker late 40s dodge wayfarer coupe & the trepanier 56 chrysler from 60 - 72, pretty much any as a station wagon cheers si
  19. Built this a few years ago. Thought I'd have a go at building something not OOB. Had a damaged roof 62 Belair that i couldnt fix so i used a 65 Bonneville one instead. Didnt like the front or rear end, found a junk Johan Turbine rear and a parts box front. Interior is part Belair & part Turbine. And this is what it finished as. Theres a bunch of things i wish I'd added or changed, like a decent underhood finish and BMF the trim but its been nearly 3 years since then and I still havnt gotten round to it, guess it wont be happening anytime soon. cheers Si
  20. Outstanding scratchbuilding mate, cant wait to see it finished.
  21. Gday all, Found your site while looking around for Pontiac kits on the internet, looks to be good. See theres at least one other from name from rodsnsods that i recognise. Built plenty of kits as a kid, most ended up as junk but now instead of being really bad at building em im just pretty bad.... Have a more than slight affinity for Pontiacs, but other than the old annual kits or resin there dont seem to be a lot of non GTO stuff out there. Prefer to build in 1/25 but i'll happily ruin any other scale that i touch. cheers Si
