  1. There's so many details with this build...you bring modeling to a new level...beautiful!!!
  2. Great colors Tom and I like your choice of wheels...Budds up front and Daytons on the rear...nice 70's look! Dump trailer looks good in red...I wish the trailer would be re-released
  3. Terry is right...modeling is supposed to be fun! You're doing a great job with this build
  4. Just found this bit of info for a third axle. Looks like a common conversion for this era...
  5. Great looking build...well done!
  6. Looks real nice...are the rear fenders from Auslowe?
  7. You've got some great looking builds Gordon...thanks for sharing them
  8. Very realistic...nice work
  9. Real nice results Alan...you've got the magic touch with stripes!
  10. Using pastels sounds like a good idea...thanks I'll try that. I really don't want to change the plate...one option would be to install angle...same as on the ramps.
  11. I don't know how this topic slipped by me....great work Alan! This is looking real nice BTW, thanks to all for the painting tips
  12. Thanks Tom I'm using balsa wood and applied some of my home-made hooch....not sure about the results. I also tried Future. To my surprise it gives the wood a slight silver-gray patina after the first coat
  13. Thank you Alain...I've attached the pictures that show the fixed end of the cylinder has been moved lower (hopefully enough).
  14. Thanks everyone...not sure if I should weather the wood flooring or not. I found a "recipe" online for weathering wood. It's a mix of vinegar and steel wool. It's been fermenting for 3 months now, I'll try a sample piece and post the results
  15. I certainly hope that the classic style is kept. These are still very popular with owner operators...at least in my neck of the woods. To me they represent what a real truck is supposed to look like...a source of pride and polish. The newer models are no frills and very utilitarian...nothing to make them stand out. This is just my opinion
  16. Thanks Alan...a D8 is on my "future purchase" list
