Using pastels sounds like a good idea...thanks I'll try that. I really don't want to change the plate...one option would be to install angle...same as on the ramps.
Thanks Tom I'm using balsa wood and applied some of my home-made hooch....not sure about the results. I also tried Future. To my surprise it gives the wood a slight silver-gray patina after the first coat
Thanks everyone...not sure if I should weather the wood flooring or not. I found a "recipe" online for weathering wood. It's a mix of vinegar and steel wool.
It's been fermenting for 3 months now, I'll try a sample piece and post the results
I certainly hope that the classic style is kept. These are still very popular with owner operators...at least in my neck of the woods. To me they represent what a real truck is supposed to look like...a source of pride and polish.
The newer models are no frills and very utilitarian...nothing to make them stand out. This is just my opinion
