  1. I really love the realistic look this has. Excellent work
  2. awesome build, thank you for the link for the wheels as well. My father in law, who passed in 06 had a 78, that he loved dearly and alas, like most that age bracket, sold it when his wife (my mother in law) got preggo with their son. After they had their daughter for child #2 (who is my wife) he wanted to search for one, but went the drag racing route instead. I'm embarking on a similar build as a tribute to him, with the goal to present it to my wife for xmas (yikes!)
  3. one of the absolute best responses in this thread thus far! amazing work bill!
  4. Ordered some stuff today to begin building my 4 links and such via RB Motion and DirtModeler. This way I have more than enough to get me going.
  5. that is absolutely awesome!
  6. outstanding!
  7. oh snap! thats awesome ken! OT def. makes the world go around! I have a cross right now for the OT between getting paid or building it up for days off, I get one official week paid off...I've got 2 other almost full weeks of just "comp" time lol.
  8. thanks! yeah the racing harts are going to be it, really entertaining the idea of stripping the chrome at the moment. I bought some aluminum flat stock, going to start making some items, as in bed floor and such from it as an experiment. gas door, side moldings will also cease to exist.
  9. heck yeah, I've seen a few sets in 20's before. I do intend on redoing a white standard cab one day. white, bodied, LSx powered, same wheels in 20's or a 20/22 combo
  10. really like the overall result of this.
  11. so true! I'm somewhat stuck on satin black, with the roof in the Blue Angels yellow and wheels the same. Not to much progress at this point, started sanding out some of the mold marks and such. Goal is to have it bodyworked and in satin black asap. Then I'll go after taping off the roof and getting it sprayed. I've puttied up the back piece that is glued to the bottom of the cab. Planning out what to do for the suspension. Thought about grafting in a new subframe to be honest for the front.
  12. cool build! shaving the handles and front plate bracket would be a nice added touch.
  13. awesome build! Where are the wheels from?
  14. Very cool what your doing for sure! That's a killer 1:1 camaro he had. I believe them to be Bonspeed Quicksilvers maybe?
  15. lol i honestly stared at the kandy red and green yesterday @ hobby lobby for several minutes, but couldn't make up my mind so I opted for the blue angels yellow, at least for the moment for the wheels. Satin black though, is for sure going to be the body color. I'm very much debating on the kandy red vs kandy green vs. even kandy blue for the roof/wheels though. i almost bought a second one of these kits when I saw it on the shelf to ! lol That's awesome! work @ home? Are you in the computer world? I ask because i do Information Security / Infrastructure / Engineer work for a financial institution and I can work from home when need be, although a previous job had me 100% telecommute (that was awesome)
  16. I love the satin black idea. The thought of satin black with a kandy red or kandy green seems awesome. Matte brown with camel though sounds oddball, and thats why I like it as well!!
  17. Very very nice!
  18. I did not know either that Jada did a run of plastic! totally cool! and really like this build!
