  1. thnx bob .. btw looking at some pics i would wnder how a charger would look with a shortened rear end ../ less long booth ... could be cool ? maybe one day
  2. mm great stuff and details !!!
  3. i can make a pic .. but i think you wont be able to but it .. its a local dutch diy market own brand rattle can .. i think you can use any clear coat to spray your windows .. its makes them more clear and wayy wayy more shiney .. also hides small scratches .. just try it on a old window you might have like in the spare parts box thnx ! thnx ! lots of setbacks ... after a ton of dryfitting now with the body on the flip front sat too low ... i had to alter the hinge position and saw of those pins .. nw i need to make new pins in a totally different way .. due to the hinge position i now can just open the flip front like its wat tighter now .. still works though .. got small crack in the lower rear part of the body , a seem where i worked in the bumper .. not real obious .. but in the end overall there are a lot of imperfections that might not show on the pictures .. learned a lot on this one about building glossy and tigh .. between thiss and the cobra .. i think my next gloss build should be better and easyer ... although i must admit i crave for a weathered build now so some loose and rough set up pics of the body on not fixed yet , flip front semi correctly placed .. getting there
  4. thnx bob ! , bmf would hae looked nice but i think it would have been more distracting and not blend as well with the orange and black theme ... now i will have some small chrome details , rims , taillightrings , maybe the wiper arms ...i have 2 chrome r/t logos for the rer quarters .. just subtile
  5. windows are in .. now note these are "foreign" windows non charger ... they fit 90% rear window is the rer glass of a ferrari , front glass i dont know came out of my partsbox .. it curves just a hair to soon at the top but its not bad ... again they got clearcoated front and back and man they are shiney .. cant get it on the picture exactly but they shine like crazy
  6. well decided to go for it and masked the moldings .. went black ... i thought this would fit the theme and looks better then chrome moldings and man i'm happy it looks killer !!! aplied it by hand with a brush and waterbased black
  7. awsome !!
  8. thnx guys ! .. well nobody mentioned bmf ? .. i forgot to buy bmf when i got the paint .. at this stage i'm in doubt .. if i dare to clear coat that body one more time ..i would have to order bmf and after aplying clear coat again .. bmf without clearcoat isnt wise.. again nobody asked about the painted chrome .. i kind of like the orange color moldings ... makes it almost look lower and sleeker ? what are your opinions on that ?? i sprayed the windows with clear coat last night , not tamiya clear but my usual local diy market can .. sprayed clear on both sides to really make them shine .. also will help spicing them up because however they fit they dont fit perfect , again its not the chargers glass .. but altered windows from a dont know what out of the partsbox
  9. last update today , productive saturday the lighthousings turned out great , black house and chrome ring glued in place lenses in , those where just glued with micro krystal klear , so that waas white needs to turn clear still
  10. thnx rob ! i painted the inside black the rainwater grille drip thing .. needs to be orange with openings or in this case back in there ...but the orange was a bit light there after clear and washing the black in looked bad ... so i know its not suppose to be like this but i masked it and painted the whole thing black
  11. went on ... painted the tailhouses black , to much flash and stuff on them , sticking them on double sided tape i hope will result in the rings staying chrome , reflectors also sprayed the lenses with clear gloss after cleaning up the edges decided to use the kit's gass cap instead of the self made cap , it does look killer recessed rather then stock on top of the wing black insides where the tails go and a silver painted keylock for the trunk
  12. also made the panellines black , used black waterbased paint for that inside where the taillights go in are painted black
  13. today taking my time i cut 5 pieces out of cloth tape and apostered the center of the hood earea , making it look like the heat reflective woll like stuff ... could have done sort of amu look but that didnt look nice and was too contrasting .. great effect with the black , the wheel opening edges are still orange really pops now dark inside and now the carb and details on the top of the engine pop seen through the scoop
  14. project painting the inside of the flip front was a unsuspected succes ... why ? , well i tryed gloss enamel .. dont know i wanted matt but i figured look and see how that looks and if i dont like it i will do the second coat matt .. i wanted to spray it , but i wanted the whee arch edges orange and maskin that tiny edge and with the scoop i decided to hand paint it .. so i did the gloss enamel , new jar , stirred but it didnt cover the orange well especially on edges of the brace and the large flat surfaces .. i figured i'd do a few coats ... when it was dry enough i put on a second coat of gloss enamel , usually i manage to do stuff like that covered great and looking good with no brush stipes ..but the second coat didnt coer well either ... so then i though should i trow some flower over it and give it texture and later paint it matt ? .. oh waight i have a lot of pigment powders from valleo .. so i sprinkeled black pigment powder over the semi wett enamel black paint .. after shaking most off , i took a large brush with long soft hairs and brushed the rest off .. what i saw then made me smile , it reacted in a way so it made the black paint smooth overall , every inch and every nook and cranny .. it had the matt from the powder but the gloos under that gives it a kind of weird shine , not shiney but a weird effect .. now the idea is its a liht weight polyester flip front and in a way it looks like semi finished polyester now .. then just painted black .. so without knowing i did something that turned out perfect !! the plan is .. to spray some cloth tape matt black and make like panels on the hood earea .. like protection from heat .. i think that will look like the stuff you see under car hoods .... here you can see the cool effect it gave actually just what i want
  15. aawww man ... too nice !! sooo awsome to watch !!
  16. thnx !! .. i cant waight to see it with the body on .. i will put that on on final assembly , did a ton of dryfitting .. but due to the tight fit i dont want to put it and and get it off just for looking
  17. hmmm so you had a big GRRRRRR moment haha lol yes you are right .. that said i'm not into sports as well def. not football , wich is actually a nono in holland , a guy that does not like footbal ...lol .. i even dont watch when holland is laying in the europe championship ... and thnx !! just got the front of the paint stand and dryfitted in on the front , still fits perfect and the pins fit in the holes .. so the paint inside is no issue .. i marginally took that in consideration .. but that has to sit tight because when its againt the body it needs to stay in line and not sit there all wobbely.. the circles on the hood as i expected look good now , some found them a tad big .. but now with paint i like them and they are stirdy as a rock , the pins will be painted black on the pics below they are still silver .. will look good in black and in keeping with the black / orange theme carb and engine are visible through the scoop .. i wanted to put in black mesh now i'm in doubt , when you look in the scoop you really see the carb and throttle added a gauge pod on top of the dash .. why not needs a bit of black paint and some clear to finish it off
  18. superb !!
  19. hahaha lol at the kids comment .. i have one son of 11 years old .. never trew him in a box but i could have stuck him behind the wallpaper sometimes lol .. nah i love him .. and well i was stressed out .. but my reaction to stuff like that is i have to fix it and i have to fix it now .. right at that moment .. cant chill till its fixed yeah going to leave it alone , just put the charger and r/t decals on the grille .. on the raised parts where they should sit and put a tiny layer of micro chrystal clear over them .. painting the inside of the hood and body is a weekend job . when i have all the time .. i was thinking about handpainting a edge . then mask and spray the rest .. maybe i will just do it by hand .... thnx
  20. thnx hugh ! and yes that made me smile .. at this pint it grew on me and i'm fine with it now ... one thing looking in the light you still see the lines from the ornage stripe from the previous design .. but .. again i'm happy i could re-re-save it ..lesson learned thnx
