  1. thnx ! , well to be hounest there isnt much texture in ot now its pretty flat ... i think i will put a flat clear over it .. that makes it smooth and brings it more to life .. i personally dont like the look of the high gloss clear over patina ...always looks a bit weird to me .... just dryfitted the interiour a few times cool look with the wood effect on the dash ! now its a mostly complete kit parts where painted , but i dont have the glass for the tailgate .. the rest is there .. now its easy to make glass its a flat quare ... but this got me thinking ! what if i would make panels and make it a sort of woody panelvan .. only the rear side windows and tailgate windows and leave all the doors with glass .. only thing would be the panels would sit a tad deeper there then they do in the bottom .. they would be red-brownish panels just like below .. same look thoughts ?
  2. thnx steve ! after a good coat of hairspray i painted the tins blue with enamel paint , all just handbrushed i could not be bothered taping it since it would become patina , after most blue was off i went in with a brush and gave it more patina .. a bit uniform in color ..and gave it all a black wash ..i can add soem stuff if needed i thought i'd leave it alone for a while and sit back and look the roof was too clean ... so for now i gave it a wash with light grey wash ..i can try to add upholstery of some sort later , i did not build the chassis / suspension and i did not dryfit anything ! usually i always first buidl it all , dryfit and then think about paint , this time i was just having fun with the body .. but ... those fat rear wheels fit in the rear wells and tubs .. so no cutting needed lol i love the whole look downtoned and a bit sinister , take note its ment as a fake patina rod kind of ride , so its all a bit exaggerated ! maybe hen its really done the patina i will put over some gloss clear .. not sure yet
  3. its the revell 48 woody ....its the german version manual says printed in germany .. but i have seen a few versions of the kit online i believe its not a rare thing this kit slow progress on the interiour , went with a white steering wheel , actually just sanded the styrene and put some gloss clear over it with a brush by hand .. super close up , the gauges and glass where fitted with micro crystal clear and its still not turning clear .. takes time , the horn ring got a wash so the ford logo pops ...chrome on the dash needs a cleaning all fingerprint stains over it the trunk area so to speak will get some carpet , not really going for the exact how it should look here ...and still thinking what to do with the bench seats .. they need something
  4. cool ! very nice , curious on the rest of the build !!
  5. thnx guys ! and we will see what i can do when i start on the chassis and suspension , easy to cut the tubs still and make some wider ones on the interiour tb well its not super shiny , it was real flat black but i put painted the roof first with a marker to make it so it would cover better over the light color in one go .. in a way i like the tiny bit of shine it has , in fact its more the light hitting the black surface then its real shine
  6. cool , cool !
  7. thnx guys ! painted the roof flat black , it needs to grow on me but its getting there i build these custom rims for a nother project , never used them .. looks cool and the tyres are very realistic soft rubber ... kind of looks sinister , i could paint them chrome or ......cool thing is its a staggered set and the rears are nice and wide with lots of rubber but i also have these as a option , classic and i also love these , tyres are a bit skinny though
  8. i went for a painted wood effect on the dash , with the chrome insert washed with black .. together with the window cracks and handles painted chrome i'm going for the bench , it needs some paint or cloth .. not sure yet , floor in the back also needs work painted the chrome strip under the doors , and painted the hinges and all the bolts in the wood chrome roof needs black now ...
  9. thnx guys ! yes but in fact the wood is rather unharmed , the roof will probable be painted flat black ....i was thinking about making the tins patina-ed ..so there will be paint over the rust , wood in good order , roof ...nice wheels and cool stance ....engine and chassis in nice order ... if i would have build this as a beat up weathered woody i would have made the wood weathered and scuffed , and put some dents on the tins ... so the idea is it will be a made patina on the metal parts with the rest in good order ..
  10. thats cool !!
  11. cool !~but i would ef. like to see an angine and driveline on this , i think as a project its cool enough and its worth it .. also spot on with the tyres now , this gives it a baja feel like dan said .. would need a roll cage more extensive then usual ? hoops going through a hole into the trunk ?
  12. man that gauge is sweet !!!! love it !
  13. cool !!
  14. just added a black wash (vallejo) over everything expet the roof .. darkened it and gave everything depth !
  15. slow progres , i painted the rubber protectors on the rear wings .. if i knew what i was going to do with this woody before the woodwork was painted i would have cleaned them of and even clean the side trim ..but well for now i'll keep them painted the rubber matts that where molded in the floor , runs over the tunnel , then made cloth (cloth tape) mats for the foor earea's maybe i'll use these seats i modyfied and go for a more modern engine instead of the flathead ...not sure yet ceiling got the first wood stain
  16. thnx guys ! i love your idea ! and something i def. would do normaly , but in this case only the metal parts so to speak will be patina-ed .. more a made rusty look rather then a natural weathered vehicle , so the roof and wood will stay rather clean , chrome work in tact , nice wheels and a engine and chassis in nice order .... i did a second coat om the tins , this time enamel revell paint .. all tapped on with a handbrush .. in fact funny , i sprayed on the tan basecoat ...after that the rest is all done by hand and nothing was taped off , so wood and tins are handbrushed and no masking ...i remeber times i would have made a mess of that hahaha interiour parts and the spare wheel in a base coat
  17. Alright choice is made > weathered ..before the color can go on i started the first layer for a rust / worn effect ...will add more tones and layers before the paint gos on ... roof probable will become flat black , although i have seen these with tan roofs
  18. no no no , them i will use the brown as a base and put several tones over that , rust look and then either salt or hairspray and then a vivid color ...so something in the lines of the example
  19. you robot !! maNN what a stunning job again hmmmzzzz oh and noooo i wanted to rust the wood lol hahahaha
  20. so ...? do the weathered look then ?
  21. thnx ... i'm in doubt ! do it gloss or like this > i cant decide ... what do you guys think !
