FINALLY !!!!! Thanks, Matt.... -
This baby is far from complete, but here's a sneak peak at the exterior....A good buddy of mine from another forum made these for me a couple of years ago, and I still had a set left over, so this is what I did with it........Just a few more things with the interior, and I'm on to the elevator/lift gate.....

Man, you got some great looking models....This one is very well done....Even in black and white, it looks great.....What color is it, for real?? -
Frame painting
kilrathy10 replied to Christopher J's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yep...As Anthony has said, there's more than one way to skin a cat....But I think you should be armed with enough information to get that next frame painted up nicely..... I do like the semi gloss clear idea, though....I might have to give that a try, as well, Anthony.... -
Yep....This looks good....Great job on the exterior paint.....You even got the cumbersome wheels and tires to look right.... You keep at this, and you'll get the hang of it.....Good first attempt....

Frame painting
kilrathy10 replied to Christopher J's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Clayton has a great method for going about it.....The only thing I would suggest is that you prime the frame with flat black of some sort....Flat black has a way of getting into those crevices without much of a problem.....Then you can paint the frame whatever color you want.....If you can't get great coverage in those spots, the flat black will give the illusion of a shadow being cast.....Hiding the mishap in plain sight, basically.....Just a trick I've learned by trial and error....Works great for me and my rattle cans..... The frame on this Lonestar was painted orange over flat black....Very difficult to see any places where paint didn't cover....And there are a couple here and there..... -

Oh, yeah...Mega Hobby has that....And it is quite a good chunk of change.....I don't know when I'm ever going to build it, but I know that I am.....Too many of these kits go unbuilt.....I just may have to get on it..... -
Baldwin Motion- Titan/hauler/camaro's

Oh, yeah....That's what I'm talkin' about.....Just a great job all around.....That's the great thing about car carrier models....There's something for everybody....Awesome build.... -
Thanks, Man....I'm still toying with the rear lift gate.....I'm leaving space for an elevator, and I think I've got all the bugs worked out...I'll pass final judgement on it as I approach the end.... I used Krylon's Silver Foil Metallic paint for the counter tops and everything else....Works great...Shines brightly....Has some issues with dry time, but it looks fantastic.....
