Hi Al really like what you have going on with the coronet. Will stay with the twin cam as i wanted to keep this build fairly simple so i can put more effort into the next build after such a long break away from the hobby. Though some of you may find these pics helpful in your builds. These shots are from sacle auto issue 75 dedicated to pro street but do remember this info is from 1991 so there may be some updates since then. Cheers

Very cool builds and these were also the first funny cars i had built many moons ago. Cheers

Hi Niko didn't open up the wheel openings as i love the the lip that flows into the body line and didn't want to loose the look of it. Don't worry though have been piecing another meaner one at the moment so stay tuned. Cheers
-
Hi guys thanks for your replys and hope i will have this finished soon. Cheers

Thanks for all the replys and hopefully will have it finished soon. Will post some pics when she is finished just have approx 22 on the go at the moment and will have to finish some before i start any more fresh builds. Cheers

Well the replys have given me the motivation to get another one going so stay tuned as there might be another wilder one on the way with carbon hat and the works. Cheers

Hi Johnny only used this wheel as every other set i tried didn't give me the stance i was after. Could have modified the leaf spring brackets to raise the chassis up but made the mistake of not mocking up before gluing and painting, wont be doing that again. Yes Russell the lines are free at the moment just haven't had the time to finish it of with other builds on the go, also needs clear coating and final assembly, hopefully she will be finished soon and will post some pics Cheers

Hi Ian very cool looking truck you have on the way. Cant wait to see more pics of the build, are you keeping the scoop or going for a earlier style. Cheers

Just a quick update on the coronet. Have opened up the boot and separated the rear chrome trim from the tailights. Installed a flat trunk floor, do you guys in the US call it trunk or boot?, and started to make up pieces of evergreen to enclose the trunk so she is all neat and tidy. Have also made up a fuel cell that still needs work but it is getting there, its large but if im going cruising i dont want to be stopping at every gas station to fill this baby up. Still undecided what motor to use but im swaying to do the DOHC 426 for something visually different and a bit more streetable. Cheers and thanks for looking

Hi guys just want to pick your brains what type of putty do you recommend and what do you use to strip automotive paint from older builds as i have only used mr muscle oven cleaner to remove paint. Cheers
-
Yes Al it is the polar lights kit just when i was writing my post i had the ramchargers kit sitting in front of me and automatically wrote lindberg and didnt even pick it up when i read it before posting. Thanks for letting me know will correct it now. Cheers

Hi guys going to start on my 65 coronet using the dodge/plymouth pro street chassis just cant remember which one. It started off as a polar lights painted kit that has the paint stripped off and was quite surprised how good the body is hardly any clean up at all. The chassis is a real nice fit but couldn't modify the original interior enough to get it to fit so will have to be a 2 seater, hope this is within the rules. Engine bay wise the pro street set up fits like it was meant for it as you can see by the pics just need to remove the corner tabs and she will fit like a glove. May use this supercharged and efi 426 hemi to keep it streetable or may use the DOHC 426 hemi as you don't see to many of these around. Will open up the trunk and if i am game enough may open up the doors. Not sure if i will keep the rim combo will know when she is in paint, maybe orange or possibly a metallic green i have used before that looks sweet. Cheers and thanks for looking.

Just an idea why not do a bit of hot rodding and mount the alternator to the diff housing and run the belt off the tail-shaft, have seen this on a few 1:1 cars in the past and will probably use the set up if i go blower route using the set-up from a dodge nascar truck and modifying it to accept an alternator. Keeps the engine bay nice and tidy and is still streetable. Cheers

Hi like to add a few that i have on the go. Still have to get around to finishing them this may give me the motivation to finish them. Hope they fit the criteria of this post. Cheers and thanks for looking.

Hi wayne will definitley be in on this one. Have a few in mind that i have been mocking up so hopefully one of these will be okay. Just let me know if any dont meet the criteria. Also are we building them as show cars hidden wiring and the like or street cars? Cheers

Thanks guys for all the replys. Was thinking of stripping it latter on down the track to rebuild it to a better standard but have decided that some should be kept to show the progression during the years and will try to find another one, already have an engine, paint, wheel and tyre combo thought out with a scratch build chassis. Cheers

Hi Felipe love what you have done with the dart, have a few on the go at the moment myself. Have a soft spot for them as we had them here in australia but they were referred to a a chrysler valiant coupe. They came in standard, regal and also a sports model called a pacer. They came out with the slant 6, a hemi 6 and the 318 V8 which was the top of the range luxury model. The fronts are different and rear tail light lenses were also different and their model designation was VF(1969) and VG(1970) models. Just google vf or vg valiant coupe for those out there that haven't seen our aussie coupes before. Planning on a dodge dart with a slant six, right hand drive conversion to simulate our version. Cheers

Heres a few pics of my first real modified model that i have built many moons ago (about 20 years ago). Has a twin carbed 440 big block with detailing and modified the pro-stock baretta chassis to fit. Have a few detailing bits to finish otherwise it is finished. Cheers and thanks for looking.

Heres my first willys build i did when this kit first came out. Still a little bit of finishing to do but otherwise finished. Cheers and thanks for looking.

Here is some pics of my sox and martin gtx. Basically built from the box but with some motor detailing and some parts-box front tyres. The major flaw with this kit is the roof and a pillars not being square so the glass doesnt align up and sit properly, not the only sox and martin i had this problem with. My remedy was a couple of rubber bands around the body and wedging some thick nail files (thanks wife) on the opposite side along the side glass for a few weeks and straightened up enough to be build able Cheers and thanks for looking.

Another older model that i started but never got to finish. Bought the kit sans the decals so i added some decals i had in my parts-box. Basically build from the box except for a bit of detailing that i still need to finish off. Cheers and thanks for looking.

Hi just a few pics of a model A gasser that i started about 20 years ago when i was relatively new to modeling but still havent finished yet. Body is finished, keeping it in the primer, just a few details to finish. Used a parts-box motor added injection and started wiring and plumbing. Hope to be finishing this one soon. Cheers and thanks for looking.

Just a little more work done. Have opened the trunk (boot here in australia ) and made a start on removing and installing a new trunk floor as the other was way too short and had been modified by previous owner. Also made a start on correcting some of the roll cage, bar work. Thanks for the advise al better to fix now than waiting till its painted. Have made a start on engine assembly but not happy with induction manifold set-up and may change latter on. Cheers and thanks for looking.

Thanks for all the replys and sorry for how the paint looks to much in a hurry and didnt realise how dusty it was until i looked at the pics on on the forum. Cheers
