  1. Thank you guys for the kind words. It feels great to be building again. I got her standing tall tonight. A few minor touch ups to do yet. The first picture is in natural light. The last three are with the flash which makes all the colors pop out. A memory stick error killed off the chassis shot. rolleyes
  2. We got home from the lake with our friends and I knocked out the interior this evening in air-conditioned comfort. The seats were painted flat red, and then shot with semi-gloss clear to give it the leather look. A couple of small touch-ups are needed. The red carpet flocking is courtesy of Martha Stewart Crafts. LMAO
  3. I'm using the Revell 66 El Camino kit. Thank you for the offer.
  4. I've taken a break from building autos to explore figure painting and other different aspects of modeling and using my airbrush. I decided on a "hell camino" for a CBP - if the devil had a hot rod. I got the engine completed and airbrushed the flames on. It feels good to be building again.

    Mad Max helmet

My mistake. Actually it was the Kustom Shop line. I keep the stuff packed away so my kids don't get to it. The colors I used from it were Bright White KUS PSB-8616-4Z, Chrome Yellow PSB-8602-4Z, and Hot Rod Red KUS PSB-8605-4Z. The blue is Tamiya acrylic blue.

    Mad Max helmet

No color codes. House of Kolor Chrome Yellow, Hot Rod Red, and bright white. The blue is Tamiya acrylic blue. I just went with what looked right. LOL If you get the HOK paint, MAKE SURE YOU USE A RESPIRATOR. It's nasty bad stuff for you to breathe in.

    Mad Max helmet

I did this one up for a friend that sent me his bike helmet and told me to do what I want with it. After several ideas, I settled on the Mad Max Interceptor as it flowed well with the helmet lines, and all of the holes didn't break up the design too much. Everything has been masked off and sprayed with an airbrush. No decals. Clear coat is 2k urethane.
  8. Sorry I don't make it here often enough. It was given to my by a fellow modeler in a trade. I believe it came with an Italeri Peterbilt kit some time ago but may be wrong.
  9. Thank you all for the compliments. I've finally completed it. I took it to a local auto body place to have it cleared. Then to the hockey shop for replacement parts and I'm now done.
  10. One week left until the show. We have four vendors - three model related, and one airbrush - coming weather permitting.
  11. I've painted a porcelain skull pen holder for a friend. This is my first goalie helmet, but something I've wanted to do for a long time. This one was done basically because I needed to do something while waiting for my next kit/build to arrive from Europe. I may sell it. I've had the idea for a while, so I went to the local used sporting equipment store and bought a used helmet and this is where I'm at. I sandblasted the face mask yesterday to get rid of all the rust. After I paint that and get the parts to fix it (had to drill out two screws because they were rusted) it'll be done.
  12. Thank you for the compliments guys.

I really appreciate the "anime" artform for the shading and general representation of things. I like your work. What medium do you use? I see markers, but what else?
  14. In between projects, I like to sling paint with my airbrush. I know it's not automotive in nature, but it's what else I do with my artistic side and modeling tools. This is a goalie helmet that I rendered the comic book character Venom on to. If this isn't OK for this forum, then the admin's can delete. Thanks for looking.
  15. I really like the look of the full grille and no headlamps. Great redesign Harry.

    2002 Camaro SS

Thank you guys very much for the compliments. I really did enjoy building this and I HOPE the to-be owner is just as happy when he gets it.

    2002 Camaro SS

I just wrapped this one up last night. I just have to put the home-made decals on tonight (still drying). This one was a commissioned piece for a local guy. He found me at a local car show and asked me to build a replica for him. The kit is the 35th Anniversary Camaro from Revell with the t-tops hacked off the 98 Ram-air firebird and spliced in to place. Some minor engine bay detailing and small body mod to insert the rear running lights. A real challenge with this one was creating all of the subtle shades of black - flat, semi-gloss, semi-flat, gloss... Real car My 1/24 scale replica

    Great work.
  20. When I use Alclad, I base coat with acrylic gloss black paint. Then the key is to MIST the Alclad on in very light coats. I run my compressor at 15-20PSI regularly, so I just hold the part farther away, though shooting it at 5 is not a wrong thing either. To each their own method. Just make sure build up very light coats and you will see the reflective property start to show. Here's a couple examples of things I've used Alclad on - the firefighter and the exhaust on the Cobra to show my personal results with Alclad. Hope this helps you some.
  21. Thank you for the compliments guys and glad I can make a few smile or laugh with it. It's now 100% done. I finished up the little items with a fire extinguisher on the concession stand. There also had to be some duct tape holding on the poster. I finished it off with my new Grex Tritium airbrush and shot the base red to match the wagon. Lastly a close up of the torched weeds next to firemarshall Bill.
  22. Well, I've got some weathering and things left to do, but it's 99% done. A fire extinguisher is definitely in order for the scene once I find one in the stash.
  23. I'm a member of The Modelers Haven as well as two other InvisionFree supported forums and have never gotten a computer virus. My anti-virus/spyware software went crazy about a year or so ago on this forum and I brought it to Gregg and Harry's attention. It was investigated and determined that everyone should be using a Mac.
  24. A good issue. Did the advertising money for the NNL North get refunded to them since the ad for contest was JUNE 6 in the May/June issue delivered in July? If it's late to my door step no biggy, but if I'd paid money for an ad to promote a contest/event and it was missed, I'd be upset.
  25. Thanks guys for the kind words. Nick - these are the wheels that came with the kit. There is a two-door version of another car much like this that I haven't gotten. Mine's the 4 door version.
