I used to have a 75 grand am, turned it into a Lemans after the original rubber nose piece vaporized into dust while traveling up I-135 one day. that day really sucked watching it simply blow away. Long before the UV protecting in the urethane was developed. Neat old A body GM's. Might just have to look into getting one of your castings for "old times sakes". BTW your products are great!
I sold my 1950 Jimmy Deluxe cab PU 11 years ago so I could place a down payment on a house. Miss the truck, & wished I didn't buy the house. Being that you cant pick your neighbors like you can pick your parking spot.
Nice Rides there everyone!
I have been using the 600 series resin from micro mark. 7 minute pot life, sets in about an hour pours clear & allows air to escape in ample time and sets in a white color. I used their 300 series resin, much too fast for working out air it has a 3 minute pot life to "hot". Micro mark sells a tire molding rubber that is compatible to their RTV rubber molding products. I haven't tried the tire molding rubber but looking forward to using it . If & when I do I will post results if no one else does . I make a two part mold for tires so they come out in one piece. Most of all, Don't forget the parting agent! That's my current procedure.
Thanks for the welcome wagon . Working on some resin stuff I purchased from the ebay. Finding out the do's & don'ts & who's products are "The good, the Bad & the ugly" . Lots of work ahead working out rough castings. One should face the double barrel.
I just wanted to jump in and say hello to the forum,. Having been a modeler for many years.( circa 1967) I just lurk in the shadows most of the time & keep off to myself most of the time . Guess I best get out of the house more often so to speak. Going to have to learn how to post pic's soon. I hope to become a productive member of this group of fine modelers. Thanks for letting me in the door.
