  1. Going to the hobby shop and coming home with a kit you already have several of but forgotten about several times over . Nothing like having a few spare parts.
  2. I razor sawed my hand a few years back the doc wanted $400 dollars to start then he said he would discuss the remaining balance. The cut was only 2 inches long. The wife drove me home we did our own fix with some handy dandy peel & stick stitches from Walgreen's. I move out of the way when possible LOL then again I move slowly!

    Very nice! Great detail
  4. Sweet! Inspiring to say the least!
  5. AHH! I can just smell the rust ! Very nice work, 2 Thumbs up!
  6. Wow! I cant wait to see the Dio as well! Super work!
  7. Great news! Thanx for the update.
  8. Not sure Doc , Revell Monograms web site had it posted but removed it from their web page. Tower has it posted with no exact release date . Never the less, I cant wait to have one opened on the work bench! I have never seen a "Rubicon" Jeep kit what so ever from any other MFG. The only other kits I have seen was the CJ-7, & the Daisey Duke kit. Neither of those were the Rubicon styling but CJ-5 & CJ-7. I come to assume it is a new tool.
  9. Depending on the kit, I will work several of the same kit building different variations.
  10. Sounds like a good plan, I checked out the ecto1-A & noticed it had the "promo style" ( lack for better words) grill & head lamps. I have a 59 eldorado donor kit myself, but @ the time didn't want to take on another project. LOL you know how those little ideas can pile on the "waiting list " ! Lots of detailed work at hand to do the front grill & bumper but darn well worth the labor of splitting & extending the front assembly. With the extent of detail you are going already through it will make for a classy model! Who knows you might end up with a scratch built see through grill. Wow
  11. Cool project! Have you tried the grill assembly from the Monogram 59 Eldorado on Ecto 1-A for a fit comparison? Thought... a Grateful Dead "Dead Head" sticker on the rear window. Enjoying the build.
  12. Crank'n em out nicely doc! One smooth sled. How about a Hudson for a sister project You da man
  13. DITTO . My closest Modeler buddy is 40+ miles away one way.
  14. I do both. An Iwata Eclipse & a Bink's Wren. As for rattle cans I warm the can of paint in hot water. It helps thin the viscosity of the paint . Gotta be careful on the water temp heating a can, I have had the concave bottom bulge outwards. Not an ideal way to redecorate the wifes kitchen! Then it just depends is the paint offered in both can or bottle some colors vary from time to time. Then what kind of mood I am in. A Late friend of mine always seemed to win best paint at contests continuously. I asked him what air brush and polishing methods did he use ? He said neither, its simply a rattle can finish, no polishing! Warming the can was his secret.
  15. Very Nice! I have two versions still in their wrap on the shelf. A darn bit inspiring my friend! Good show!
  16. Yup, still there.
  17. Very Cool!
  18. Enjoy the Day Big Kahuna ! I am sure you will in Paradise as we folks on the mainland are freezing our tails off! LOL Thanks for the Great Magazine & forum! Happy trails!
  19. Agreed 100% ! Had to open it as soon as it came in the mail. Oh the old unopened kit smell! Thinking pro street maybe not quite sure yet... I checked the chassis from the AMT pro street 66 Nova, The wheel base is dead on! the only thing would be narrowing up the floor pan a small bit & trim the rear corners for a snug fit. .
  20. Very nice! I like the pinstriping.
  21. Good rule! Now to convince my Grandson of the rule LOL. He will most likely want to debate this rule... Besides his bony fist can administer a painful charlie horse . ouch.
