  1. Okie dokie! There used to be a guy here in Wichita whom had a 5o chevy COE on a short bed frame & used the (Rare hard to find) 8' bed to fill up the excess. Everyone laughed at him then but now cool stuff ! Cant wait to see your pics! Aw nuts! same as Fred Caddy! thanks for the heads up. I had to drop the front motor mounts so the large modified flat head that came in the yellow 2n1 would fit under the floor pan & dog house I fabricated to accept the engine . The stacks on my carbs have been removed and I am searching for an appropriate air cleaner. Hope to see some more pics from everyone's work!
  2. Its nice a frame was included I am not familiar with SJS I'm going to have to check them out. Did a google search and clicked on images. Seems these old Cab overs are slowly coming back to life. http://www.google.com/search?q=50+ford+cab+over&rlz=1T4GGNI_enUS492US492&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=zg6pUa_rEIy-9QTUmYBI&ved=0CDIQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=676
  3. Blair I like the super singles on the drive axels! Nice touch. About three weeks ago I pulled out a Fred Caddy 50 Ford COE from my stock and started it as well (Great minds think alike they say) I sit mine down on the Revel 2n1 (yellow box art) chassis with the lowered suspension. I as well stretched my bed as well to compensate for the short cab length. Now for the 22" low pro's or stock wheels with the monster whites? I started to use the dually ford chassis by Monogram but didn't saving it for another day. Looks like a cool trend coming on! Keep it coming!! The Chevy COE is really sweet! Don't stop now!
  4. LOL I am hoping it is, They should be the reference picture in the Webster's dictionary for "Glue Bomb" LOL. The builder also brush painted several of them after assembly. Some glass will make it some not. Lots of parts no doubt.
  5. Exacto knife & #11 blades has made life much simpler.
  6. A Buddy called me with a surprise of 3 large boxes packed full of Glue Bombs from parts unknown! Must be 50 cars in the collection. Not sure what to do with all of them, time will tell.
  7. One sweet 49 ! Love the flex in the paint.
  8. My first model kit , The "T for Two" bought it at a five & dime back in 1967. The beginnings of a life long hobby.
  9. Screwy deal on the screws. Someone is going to get Screwed. I couldn't resist.
  10. This gives a new meaning to "Parting out" doesn't it.
  11. Ok, This explains why I was viewing posts with kit parts & complete sprues separate from the rest of the kit & noticing the complete kit is posted in separate pieces and separate auctions from the same seller. Now that seems sneaky & unethical but I guess that goes back to "Buyer beware & free market". A person could pay a pant load more then the entire kit was worth. Interesting... Thanks for clearing this issue up that I had pondered on for so long.
  12. The Only floquil color's I use any more since selling off my Narrow gauge layout & collection is Engine Black, Grimy black & grey primer. Like everything else stock up now & as the supply dwindles try to find an alternate product that works. Thanks to the RTR hobby business & the cost of such equipment the MRR hobby is dying a slow painful death. More hobbyists with the immediate satisfaction skills rather then the true Craftsman are left. Coming from an old Narrow gauge modeler whom used to scratch every thing possible, Floquil's demise disgusts me but then again we heard scuttle butt back in the 90's this was going to happen due to Hazmat issues... No surprise here. Whats next we use Prang water colors from the school supply section?
  13. You have contracted the "Dry Rot & Rust" disease and there is NO cure but to build from your fevered visions ! Absolut 2 cool ! git-r-done!
  14. 1. Alclad I use it Love the results, much more durable then testors metalizers. But then, I don't handle my builds very often after completion. 2. I use a #11 blade, slip of the hand happens & easily fixed no sweat... 3. I use the Tamiya masking tape and a avid user of it alone. BMF for mask, haven't yet but maybe if in a pinch I would.
  15. Old Modelers never die, We just simply scale away!

  16. Peace be with you & your family.
  17. Its my personal time capsule... I figure its going to take a LOT of time ( Millennium) to get all of those kits built. Either that or leave my 3 Grandsons one heck of a collection to have a blast with! Which ever demise comes first.
