Initial stages of a 76 Ford Torino 4 door, 3D resin print, Andrey Berodzny design, printed by Andy Lesniak. I decided to detail the engine, as most of the 3D kits have limited detail on the engine & chassis. I swapped out some items from the Revell Torino kit (fan belt/alternator/ps pump/fan) and stock exhaust manifolds as the 3D has headers. I added a distributor by Greg's Scale Modeling Co, and some parts box pieces, too (coil/fuel filter). Wheels are steelies from Fireball Modelworks. I'm going with a base line Torino, rather than the Gran version, so I have begun sanding off the extra trim. Wheels are test fitted, and the stance is set...

David, here's a shot of some of my collection I displayed at a show last year...

Do you know the way to San Jose? 1965 Plymouth Belvedere, San Jose Police. Model built from an excellent resin casting by Missing Link (4 door body, interior side panels, front bench and rear bench seats, lower trim dash) all mated to a Moebius 65 Belvedere I 2dr kit. Overall a pretty easy build, the Missing Link parts are fabulous. Paint is Tamiya TS15 which is a pretty close match to the SJPD cars of the 60s. Decals by Police Decal Shop. The roof beacon is a real nice Dietz 211 which is a 3D printed offering by Ranger Detail Technologies.

1968 Chevy Biscayne, Massachusetts State Police replica. Built using a resin body and interior made by MCW Automotive Finishes mated to an AMT 67 Impala kit. Details include a David Parsley roof beacon, In Quarters decals and a scratch built whip antenna. Paint is hardware store enamels that closely match MSP's "French and Electric" blues. This was their last year for 2 door sedan patrol units, it is also the only time in the 1960s that MSP used Chevys.

1968 Dodge Coronet 4 door sedan, 3D resin printed full kit, completed as a replica of a Beverly Hills PD car. This is my first 3D full kit, actually went together pretty well, the chassis is pretty much generic, so I built it as a curbside. The wheels/hubcaps are from the Revell 68 Charger, light bar was cobbled together from my parts box. Paint is all Tamiya, decals were made for me by STS Scale Model Decals (they are available from STS now). This kit was printed by Andy Lesiak, a Facebook aftermarket seller. Photos of an actual units were used as reference.

George, I sent a message to Wylde's web page messaging over a month ago asking about the availability of the stock Ford Taurus bumpers/wheel conversion that he was working on. I have yet to receive a reply. I know he sent out a few sets to a few people already, but I don't see them on the website. I was waiting for these to become available, at which time I'll place a large order. Could you advise? TY in advance.

Thanks for all the replies. As far as Missouri using Mercurys, they had a long history of using full sized premium sedans all through the 60s. 70s and into the 80s. And a mix of many makes each year, and colors were mixed, not just one color. It is not unusual to see a fleet photo containing Mercurys, Buicks, Pontiacs and Chryslers. They also used their share of Oldsmobiles and AMCs. Once the mid 80s came along, they standardized and pretty much went with Fords or Chevies. Here's a 1965 image from MSHP with a row of Buicks and Chryslers...

The clear windshield/rear window are very well done, and very clear. My only negative is that they're a bit too thick. They do require a little bit of trimming to massage them into place, and you should definitely pre-fit them prior to paint.

Finished this one up a few weeks ago...1969 Mercury Monterey, Missouri State Highway Patrol replica. Too Many Projects 3D resin body w/his clear glass. Body is mated to the AMT 70 Ford police kit for chassis and interior with modifications. Dashboard is from my parts box, a spare 80s LTD dash from another project. Paint is Tamiya TS87 titanium gold and is a close match for the 69 Mercury gold shade. Decals are Chimneyville, lights are from the JoHan 68 Plymouth police kit with clear domes by Plaskit (painted clear red). Roof speaker is 3D printed by Shapeways.

This one's in the books... 1978 Chevy Nova/Phoenix, AZ PD replica. Used the Greg Wann resin sedan conversion trans-kit with the MPC Squad Rod/Nova kit. The resin parts were very well done and required only a little bit of clean up, but the old MPC Nova parts were horrible to work with. I would recommend to anyone who wants to do this conversion to use the newer tool Revell 68-70 Nova kits, it'll be worth the extra effort. Paint is Tamiya, decals by Scale PD. I tried the new Revell chrome spray for the hubcaps and the grille, came out pretty good. Light bar is a fantastic TwinSonic by Dave Parsley Custom Scale Emergency Lights.

Just started this conversion project, building a 68 Satellite out of the AMT 68 Roadrunner kit. I'm using a Shapeways 3D trunk/taillight printed unit to replace the rear of the Roadrunner. Initial cuts were required for the swap were fairly easy, mostly using the back side of an X-Acto blade. The fit is pretty good so far, it's going to require a bit more trimming and shaping, but should yield a nice alternative. Other mods will include stock 68 hubcaps from Fireball, a resin 3D small block 318 from VCG Resins, and a resin interior from Missing Link. Decals were sourced from Scale PD https://scalepd.com/ As to the color break, I have a bunch of images from mid-70s PPD cars showing the all tan with white roofs. In the 60s, the images I have show the tan only on the sides, like you mention. The photo I posted above sure looks like the hood it all tan. Here's a bun of 75/76s put out to pasture, and a 74 in service

Working on this Greg Wann resin Nova 4dr sedan trans-kit, being built as a replica Phoenix AZ police unit. Its being mated to the old MPC Nova Squad Rod kit. The resin parts are very well done and should yield a nice finished project. The old MPC kit lacks a lot of detail. I should have tried using one of the current Revell Nova kits and modified as needed, but too late now. Paint is Tamiya sand and white, now awaiting clear coat.
