I work at a body shop for a company that owns about 14 dealerships. On our property we have a new Hyundai showroom, Nissan showroom and a GMC/ Buick dealer. We also sell everything from Kia to Maybach. I've never heard one complaint from a Sonata or Genesis owner and very very minimal complaints from owners of other Hyundai models. On the flip side Benz owners seem to have problems with nearly every car they buy. I actually own a 2000 Camry with 227,000 miles and a 2007 Santa Fe with 75,000 and have never had a problem with either one. The new Genesis coupe V6 is a blast to drive. It out performs the Mustang, Challenger, G37 and Camaro (all V6 models) on the strip and the track. The sedan is just beautiful. But if you want performance in the sedan, check out the R Spec 5.0 429 horse model. Yes, a 5 liter 400 plus horse Hyundai. And if you've got about an extra 65 Grand you can pick up a new Equuis. Every option you can get on cars twice its price. Reclining seats, fridge in the console, the works. I wasn't even a Hyundai fan until a few years ago. Get behind the wheel of one and ignore the emblem on the hood and you will be incredibly surprised.

Good stuff. I'm at the race (well technically we just got back to our hotel room and are gonna be heading back to the track in the morning). They have a historic race car display with lots of great race cars from years past, one of which is the BMW you built. Pretty cool to see a great small scale build of it after seeing the full sized car. Keep up the great work!

Just another '57 Chevy...................

As Nick stated, it's a Honda color that was used a few years back. They used it for a while on nearly every Honda and Acura models. Paint code is NH-B92P. Really nice color in the light. The kit is coming together really nicely. Gotta love something this unique out of a model that has been built by nearly everyone at one time or another. Not easy to do something different on such a popular kit but you've pulled it off. -
Some more Mitch Hedberg- I saw an infomercial that said 'forget everything to know about slip covers.' So I did. Boy was that a load off my mind. But then they started talking about slip covers and I had no idea what they were. I walked by a dry cleaner at 3AM and the sign said 'sorry, we're closed.' Sorry? There's no need to apologize, you're a dry cleaner. It would be ridiculous for me to expect you to be open. I'm not gonna show up the next day and say I was here at 3AM and you were closed, someone owes me an apology!

Dax Shepard. He actually stared, produced and co directed the movie. Watched this movie The other night, simply because the cars and chase scenes looked good. Not a bad movie, not great either but it was entertaining. Tom Arnold is great in it and Bradley Cooper makes a convincing bad guy. I recommend it as a fun way to kill a couple hours on the weekend. I really want to build that Lincoln.

I'm new around here and haven't posted any of my builds but I like building race cars. Not dragsters or Nascar though. For example I'm working on an Accurate Miniatures Mclaren M8B, Revel 50 Olds Panamerican racer and a Mitsubishi Evo Rally car. Being as there isn't a sub forum for any of these I would have to just post them under the regular Cars Under Glass section. I think it would be great to have another sub forum for race cars other than Nascar and 1/4 milers. -

Star's Cars in Gatlinberg, Tennessee has one. They also have tons of other awesome movie and TV cars. Fast and Furious Charger, Eclipse, Grand National, a General Lee, Gone in 60 Seconds GT500 Eleanor plus tons of others. If you're ever there it's a really cool place to check out. -
Really would love to do this. Problem is I'll be at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona that weekend. Oh well, maybe I can just do one the weekend after and post pictures anyways.

I don't understand them but I love to see them. As others have said, every time you post something new, I click on it with no idea what to expect. You certainly have some of the most creative builds I've ever seen. Kudos to you for having no fear designing and posting some of the craziest cars ever built. Keep up the awesome work and keep doing whatever it is you do to stay so creative!

about to build the audi r8. but before i do..

The back panels came in carbon fiber or stainless steel. So if you're looking to make it look authentic you could choose either way. Not sure if the kit has carbon fiber decals or not but it would be easier to shoot them silver then to try and replicate the CF. Either way these cars look really good. But as stated in the above posts the best way is to paint the panels and then mask them and shoot the body. Good luck and keep us updated on the progress! -
I have that kit that I built years ago. Also built the Supra but didn't do either in the movie style though. However this is the kit in looking for now- www.slotcar-fever.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AMT%2D38512

Well that's a bummer. Guess I gotta track one of those kits down now. This should be fun. Thanks for your help George.

I'm looking for a kit of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (doesn't matter which one. Would prefer 6 or later though). All the kits I've found so far are curbside. My question is does anyone make an Evo with opening hood with a full engine? Thanks in advance for your help!

I've lived in Clearwater my whole life. Short story here, I used to build years ago. I competed at a local hobby shop's contest twice a year. I did pretty well but that was in the junior category. Fast forward to about a month ago- my uncle (who originally got me into building) moved down here from Jacksonville. He had me come out to his local model Club just to hang out. Well I got the fever for plastic again and here I am today. I'm not the greatest builder but I have fun building. So to me that is the most important. I've never had been involved in a community build like this so I look forward to having a lot of fun and seeing some awesome builds.

This sounds like a blast. Sign me up! No idea what I want to build yet but I have an idea. It involves 2 cars (separate entries but my story will tie both cars together). I'll have some pics of the kits, as well as my back story soon. Thanks to everyone who is participating and thanks to those running it!

I haven't posted on this forum yet but this sounds interesting. I just got back into building cars after about an 8 year hiatus. Anyways, I have a few questions. Is there a limit as to how many people can enter? Also, can we sign up to enter now, even if we don't quite know what we're going to build yet? Thanks in advance for the answers.
