  1. Car looks great. Love the color. Most are silver it seems. Such an under appreciated car. Kinda gets left out of most super car talks but really are incredible. Great work man.
  2. Picture from a local car show I photographed. Not much, just a BMW Z8, Ariel Atom and a Ferrari F430.
  3. Since you guys like Skylines, here's a few more Rivsu shots. The first two are the cars in their warehouse awaiting their new owners. The last is a 1972 Skyline GT-R sitting next to another R32. All together there was probably 15 Skylines.
  4. I travel the state photographing car shows. Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing some vehicles at Rivsu Imports, the largest importers of Nissan Skylines in the world. They import many cars but the Skylines are their bread and butter.
  5. http://blog.caranddriver.com/chevrolet-colorado-and-gmc-canyon-deliveries-halted-for-airbag-issue-gm-issues-additional-recalls/ Now it's their new trucks being recalled for faulty airbags.
  6. Here's the website for the museum if anyone is interested. http://www.tbauto.org Something I found incredible is the fact that all of the vehicles run and drive. They have an on site mechanic that drives all the cars periodically. So it's possible to see these vehicles cruising down the road.
  7. I had the pleasure of going to the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum. The museum is a privately owned collection. The owner is originally from France and has been collecting cars since the 50s. The museum is run by his daughter in law. Her knowledge of every car there, as well as cars in general, blew me away. Listening to her describe how each car was found, bought, imported, etc. was amazing. Many of these cars are the only known remaining example and a few are even the only one ever made. I've never seen 99% of the vehicles in the museum. Most are European but there's a few Americans in there. The owner collects vehicles that were innovative and ahead of their time. There were a few cars that are on loan to other museums (1965 all wheel drive Mustang, 1929 Ruxton and 1770 Fardier De Cugnot were all on on loan around the country until after the first of the year). But what they do have is mind blowing. Talbot Lagos, Cord, Maseratti, Tactra plus tons more. Check out the link to my page before and let me know what you think. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.534544546677462.1073741846.457050661093518&type=1
  8. Got these today Never had a Johan kit before. Not sure if I'm gonna build them or not. The Desoto is actually sealed.
  9. Not actually on the road today but I had these in our recon department today. Maseratti, BMW 6 series and an E350 (black with black rims) all getting ready to be in our showroom shortly. I fell in love with the red interior on the Maseratti.
  10. Thanks Sir. If you're interested in checking out more of my pictures, they can be found on Facebook under Bay Area Speed Source. All the pictures are taken by me at local events.
  11. I live in Clearwater, Florida. I help organize local car shows and meets. We've got a couple cars and coffees every month when the big hitters come out. McLarens, Ferraris, Lamborghinis are a common sight there. I see a decent amount of them on the road. Also helps that the dealership I work at has a high end used car lot built into our Jag and Mercedes lot. You name it and we've had it in our shop. The McLaren caught me completely off guard. As far as I know the Gold Rush Rally didn't come anywhere near Florida.
  12. Horrible cell phone picture (was at a red light when I seen it passing by) but it's a Gold Rush Rally wrapped McLaren MP4-12C. It's also the inspiration for my latest Ferrari build
  13. I chase super cars on the weekend (I run a Facebook page full of super car, muscle car, exotic and custom cars that I happen to capture). I shot this on Miami Beach.
  14. Absolutely stunning. Love what you've done with it. The colors are perfect.
  15. Okay guys, I'll jump in. I know it's the 11th hour and to be honest, I'm going out to grab a kit right now lol. I've been back into building for a little over a year and still haven't actually 'finished' anything. I've got about 8 cars that are 90 percent though. So this will be my chance to just get it done. I'll post my kit when I return in about an hour.
  16. Looking good so far. I've thought about building the same thing being as I also live in Florida. I remember these running around on the interstate years ago. Never did get caught by one, however the FHP Camaro SS did get me once Can't wait to see how this one turns out!

    AE86

I've been trying to buy a real one of these for a few years. Problem is finding the hatch bodystyle in good condition (and of course a reasonable price) is pretty difficult. Wouldn't mind finding on that's as nice as your model. Color looks great on it. Can't go wrong with a super clean build. Great work man.
  18. A year ago the answer would have been an 86 Cutlass for me and 2000 Camry V6 for my wife. Camry had 230,000 miles and ran like a dream. Cutlass was custom painted burnt orange (stock 350Z color) with chrome spokes. Owned it for 10 years but just sold it a couple months back. It had straight pipes and no air so it wasn't 'kid friendly'. My 2 year old wasn't aloud to ride in it so I had to get something else. Sold the Camry because we needed something bigger. So anyways to actually answer the question, my wife has a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and I just picked up a 2003 Civic Si. Fun car with enough power to have fun yet great reliability. I custom painted the wheels black, powder coated the calipers red, put slotted rotors on all 4 corners, AEM V2 intake. Not much so far but have only had the car for a couple months. Fun facts about the 02-05 Civic Si- it's the only Si to not be built on a Civic platform. It is also the only one built in England. It's also got a 5 speed with the shifter mounted on the dash
  19. We all started somewhere. I'm glad you have the courage to post up your first builds because I know I wouldn't be brave enough to post mine You can definitely see improvements from the first to the second. Just keep building and you will learn what works best for you. Welcome to the addictive world of plastic. You're in the right place if you've ever got any questions.
  20. Absolutely beautiful build. Perfect stance, perfect color.
  21. Looks good. I like the color a lot. But I think you have the year wrong. I think 2010 was the first year of the new body.
  22. I've noticed that the type of car you build has a huge impact. I'm 28 and I know most model judges that I've seen are nearly twice that age. They tend to appreciate cars they are familiar with more than cars they know nothing of. A beautifully built GT-R or Toyota AE86 aren't gonna draw the attention of a classic or muscle car. Flat colors are the same way, not many people are in to them. I'm building a 1990 Ford Taurus SHO right now. I know that no matter how great it turns out it will never EVER win anything simply because it's a factory stock Ford Taurus. What appeals to you won't always appeal to the judges. There's just too many factors that are out of your control. Build what you like and have fun. That's probably the best advice I can give.
  23. My name is William and I'm back in model building after about an 8 year layoff. I've been hanging around this site for a little bit but haven't properly introduced myself. I'm 28 now and started building when I was around 10. My uncle is an amazing builder and helped me get started, as well as get me back in the game recently. When I was younger I competed in many contests in the junior division. I won a bunch of trophies but I always built cars for myself. I'm part of a club now (No Name Model Club) and am the youngest builder by over 20 years. While most everyone in the club builds muscle cars and street rods, I enjoy building imports, touring cars and 90's cars. I enjoy the occasional muscle car or classic but I try to build stuff that stands out at the club meets. Basically they build the show cars, I build the cars that drive to the car shows. For example I'm working on a 1990 Ford Taurus, 1993 Pontiac Grand Am and a Hippo Sleek Subaru Legacy GT (among countless other half built models). I don't build trucks and refuse to build Street rods. Nothing against either one, I just basically suck at them. I built a 32 Ford years ago and just never really cared for it. But anyways that's a little about me. Hopefully I'll be able to show off something soon. Anyways back to the bench for me. Gotta get the engine in the Taurus
