I finished the revel 1/12 GT500 a few weeks ago and cannot find a case locally that's large enough for it. Unfrotunately I had to put it back in the box to keep it safe. This build was my best yet in 26 years of building and I would really like to have something to display it in. Anyone have a source for what I am looking for that has it under $80? I mean I already have enough money into the build as it is and don't really want to go any higher. Maybe someone has a tutorial on building one? I am really tempted to buy some plastic sheet and build my own somehow.

I have been using Micro set and sol quite a bit lately, but I have been having an issue with the Micro set. After brushing the set onto the surface I apply the decal. After application of the decal it is nearly impossible to move if out of position. I did not have this issue when not using the Micro set and am to the point of going back to not using it at all. I have almost damaged a few decals because of this. I know that the set is used to aid in adhesion, but should it be active almost immediately as it has been? Is there something I can do to give my self more time for repositioning if I need to do so?

How often do you visit Hobby Lobby?
dantewallace replied to dantewallace's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
So I was just in hobby lobby and realized something, why are there Tamiya military kits, but no others?? Cars boats etc. Is it just my location thats like this? If I could get Those for 40% off I'd probably pass out from buying so many. -
Wooooooooooooooooooow Mike!!!! You prefer the exact same type of kits that I do. Fujimi/testors Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. You prefer mostly exotics and imports I take it? That's my taste but strangely, my stash consists of mostly muscle cars and very few exotics. Although I have come across a long closed hobby store locally and have been raiding his inventory of import kits. It'll even out in a few more visits. I see allot in your stash that I didn't know were produced and want, lol.

I'm with Casey,Tamiya and the other Japanese companies are some of,if not the best out there quality wise. I disagree on some of the prices of their kits though, especially the curbsides. Today I was looking at the new Toyota 86 kit and it's $40-50. No thanks. I have a database saved on my pc that shows a few of Tamiya's kits and designates which are curbside, and which are not. Maybe it will help you choose what you want in the future? It has certainly helped me with a few purchases. http://italianhorses.net/tamiya.htm

My New Favorite "Glass" Product

Wow!! Nice tip OP. I'm gonna pick this up from Wally world this weekend ASAP. Thank you -
I used to do my trim the same exact way but getting an airbrush changed that real fast. With the brush method it lays the paint down to thick and takes forever to dry, also leaves uneven spots and possibly brush strokes. The airbrush gives a much smoother finish with no buildup. This is a great tutorial for those who prefer brushing or do not own an airbrush. I agree with Pete also, but this gives you the opportunity to improve the next vid. Keep them coming!!

Strange coincidence that there are Ramen noodles in the background of a Japanese kit build photo?? Lol I'll be tuned in to this one. I'd probably off myself during the decal process.

For years I have applied water slides before waxing. This time around I have done what I would say is the best paint job in my 26 years of modeling and I want this to come out perfect. I did all of my wet sanding and am now in the process of polishing. My question is, should I apply my decals after polishing, or should I apply them after my final wax? I plan to use micro sol ,and micro set. Will using either of the two affect whether I choose to apply decals post polish or pre/post wax? Thanks guys!!
