  1. I appreciate all eras of Indy cars from the beginning up to and including CART. Its the current formula that I just don't care for. It appears however that change is coming. Here is the proposed 2018 car design.
  2. Sat with my wife for days in the hospital as we watched cancer slowly take her mom. I hope better for Harry.
  3. The Penske above is from the CART days here is the current Indycar.
  4. The SAAC Registry gives the Coupe's Dimensions (in inches) as: Length: 151.5 Gunze-167 mm SMS-175 mm Width: 61 Gunze-70 mm SMS-70 mm Wheelbase: 90 Gunze-90mm SMS-97 mm 1 mm is very close to 1 inch in 1/24 scale
  5. I really enjoyed US open wheel racing back in the CART days. I just can't get interested in these new cars.
  6. Here is the photo comparison between the SMS and Gunze kits. The SMS kit is dark gray.
  7. I was comparing the SMS and the Gunze kits last night and the SMS body is much longer. I will post pictures this evening to show the comparison.
  8. I would like to get my hands on one of these kits to see what I could do with it. It's not my favorite coupe but one, I think should be better represented in scale. I know HRM has one of these bodies, not sure when it will make it to the top of his very long "to do" lists.
  9. The Lindberg kit attempts to replicate CSX2287.
  10. Thanks Randy. The box stock build shown is of the base kit I started with. This is the same kit just different box art.
  11. Found a picture of a nice box stock build of the kit for comparison.
  12. Scale Motorsports identifies their kit as CSX2299. The other two (HRM & Gunze) do not identify a chassis number IIRC. There are differences among the chassis. http://www.speedhunters.com/2015/09/shelby-cobra-daytona-coupes-all-of-them/
  13. The wing is unique. Nice work Ray.
  14. Turned out great Jim.

  16. Here is where you can purchase the HRM kit: https://www.modelbuilderswh.com/collections/resin-kits
  17. Nice work Mike. Paint detail on the wheels would really make it pop.
  18. You most likely have better information than I do Rick but this is from Rinsey Mills’ book AC Cobra-The Truth Behind the Anglo-American Legend:
  19. Here is the best comparison I have found of the Shelby Team colors. The photo below is of CSX2345 the only unrestored FIA Roadster in existence. The underside of the trunk lid is original Viking Blue (the '64 color) while the rest of the car was repainted Guardsman Blue for the '65 season.
  20. For just a bit more money I would go for the Historic Racing Miniatures kit, it has full detail. The Scale Motorsport kit while nice is only a curbside. Gordon Holsingers' build-up of the HRM kit.
  21. Looks striking in red with the white stripes - I like it.
  22. My PC won't even allow me to type while the ad is loading. I have to close all instances and I have seen up to (3) on page. Most annoying!!
  23. Thanks Maxx. Applied white primer for the final coat in hopes it will lighten the final shade. Color comes next Princess (Viking) Blue.
  24. NFL stadiums have received an estimated $6.7 billion from taxpayers Posted by Michael David Smith on March 28, 2017, 9:23 AM EDT Getty ImagesWith Nevada kicking in $750 million to build the Raiders a new stadium, NFL teams have now received nearly $7 billion in tax money to build stadiums over the last two decades. According to an analysis from ESPN, the total price tag to taxpayers for building new stadiums and renovating old ones has been $6.7 billion since 1997. That includes 19 new stadiums and three major renovation projects. Not every team has received public money. The stadium the Jets and Giants share in New Jersey was financed privately, and the stadium the Rams and Chargers will share in Los Angeles is being financed privately as well. The NFL still makes most of its money from its television contracts. But there may not be enough attention paid to how much money the NFL makes from state and local leaders who are eager to attract teams or keep teams in place, and willing to pay a lot of taxpayer money on stadiums.
