  1. Paint is beautiful. Which wheels are you going to use? Mike
  2. Beautiful big Chevy. Nice job! Love that color. Mike
  3. THANK YOU for awakening this old thread. I missed it the first time around, so I'm glad I got to see this '68. INCREDIBLE build. The '68 Charger was BY FAR the best looking year. BEAUTIFUL PAINT! Mike
  4. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL '55. You did an awesome job on that one. LOVE the two-tone. Mike
  5. What a cool reminder of your modeling past! I'd definitely leave that one as-is. I have a few very old builds that really bring back some great memories. I can practically remember the music I was listening to when I built them! Think 1972 or so. Mike
  6. Harold, That looks great. The color looks perfect on the car. I just picked up yet ANOTHER one of those kits. I want to build one box-stock and use another one to build a funnycar. Mike

    50 Chevy

    One word.........NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE! Mike
  8. See, now you got me wanting to build one of those! Real nice build. I'd probably go for a replica-stock promo sorta look. Mike
  9. Bernard, BEAUTIFUL! I love everything about that build. I can't believe that you actually took a break! That car reminds me of EXACTLY what drew me into modeling back in the early 70's. I love that you've incorporated many of the classic customizing traits and styling cues into your '34, and I'm a HUGE fan of the 50's and 60's style customs. I remember reading my Dad's old car magazines, back when they had special sections dedicated to car modeling. The old scaled-down deuce coupes and kustoms really got my imagination flowing, and before I knew it I had my very own tube of 'stiff proof' and I was well on my way to building some of the most hideous glue bombs you can ever imagine. Show us more! Mike
  10. Just like me...........well, except for the clean part. Mike
  11. Eeewwww. The proportions are seriously wonky on this diecast. Some of you are quite crafty and could probably turn this one around with a little effort, but wow, who'd they hire to design these? Mike
  12. Can hardly wait for this one. Loooooong time Nova fan here, having had a '65, '76, and my grandmother's old '73, which I still own. Now, as for the kit.....is it just me, or is that grill slanted just a bit too much? Mike
  13. Well, sounds like you have some experience with the HOK paint. I haven't tried it yet. Wish me luck. I picked up quite an assortment at the show. Mike
  14. Thanks Bob. I remember talking with you in front of the Black Gold/House of Kolor booth. Mike
  15. Gregg, glad you made it home safely. Will you be back for the Mid-Atlantic NNL in May?? Promises to be a good one. Mike
  16. Thanks. After all these years, I'm just starting to get into interior detail. I've always loved doing the paint and exterior detail, but never really enjoyed interior, chassis, engine, etc. The more I learn, the more I'm starting to enjoy it. Engines are still a bit intimidating, but I'll get there! For now, I'm sticking to the basics. Mike
  17. Thanks guys. Mike
  18. Thanks for the invite. I plan to come to the May meet. The last meet I attended was the auction this past year. My son, Alex, and I came up with Mike Hemp. I scored a couple of nice kits and a hardbound "Chevrolet Small Block" book in the auction. Good time, good people. Hope to meet you at the next meeting. Mike
  19. Thanks Bob. You would have loved some of the Kustoms. I parked my '63 Galaxie along side some real sweethearts..... Mike
  20. Thanks Frank. Awesome show huh? See my photos here........ http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v472/Blu...%20East%202008/ Mike
  21. Raul, Actually, there was a classification for the RM '49 Merc, and yes, there some INCREDIBLE Mercs on the table. See my pics of the NNL East here...... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v472/Blu...%20East%202008/ Mike
  22. Thanks! I really enjoyed building it, and I'm preparing to build another one.....'marked' this time. Mike
  23. Just got back home to Baltimore after attending the NNL East 2008 show in Wayne NJ. All I can say is WOW. The contest, the vendors, the builders......this was a LOT Of show to take in in one day. So many fine vendors were present, including Modelhaus Resin and Black Gold/House of Kolor. Needless to say, I made sure to stock up on resin wheels and tires and HOK paint. This was worth the trip alone. It's great to be able to actually SEE the Modelhaus Resin and HOK products in person. There were many other vendors selling resin kits, parts, body transkits, etc., and I'm here to tell you, the quality of some of this stuff is out of this world. The model contest was incredible. I really came away inspired. There are some phenomenal builders out there! Check out my photos, and see for yourself......... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v472/Blu...%20East%202008/ Mike
  24. Wow, thanks for the compliments guys. And to think, the 1:1 version of this car isn't supposed to actually draw attention! lol. Hope to see some of you at the NNL East on Saturday! I'll bring this Fury and a couple of my others.......the ones that are worth showing, anyway. Mike
