  1. I got one probably not seen by to many people. Where it is no longer Saturday and this is not quite what is considered a table or bench it works for me. I don't always get to build on Saturdays. I build every time I stop for a break. My bench doesn't get to stay messy. If it did my wife would probably throw everything out the window at 62 mph. Lol. Enjoy.
  2. Fixer will you do me a favor?
  3. . I am going to try to bring it back 6 years to a 63. My original plan was to make it a split but there is WAY to much body work for my skills so ill just bring it back a few years. I came to that conclusion last night while laying in bed trying to figure out how to move the rear fender wells from the chassis to the body and the same with the front just like on a 1:1 body. I'm thread jacking here ill stop now. Sorry. Keep us updates with this build brother. I love old VW's no matter what year.
  4. It looks to me like there might still be some good sheet metal under all that foliage. Hood.... Goner. Grill..... Possibility. Rear fenders......possibility. You never know what the panels look like and there may actually be some other parts on the car that are salvageable. Still a sad sight for such a once awesome car.
  5. I've for sure got to get me one of these kits. I am an avid VW fanatic. Owned 3 1:1's in the process of building a 1:24 old bug and looking to buy a 4th 1:1 old bug. The engine detail on this kit is unbelievable. That blue is gorgeous on your type1 and the white interior definitely compliments the blue. As I said ^ there I am working on a 1:24 myself with one detail I have never seen in the car modeling arena. Y'all will have to wait and see what it is. I'm keeping 100% secrecy on that detail. I want to see if I have the skill to pull it off. Anyway I'm post jacking. Unintentionally. Sorry. Great job on this build so far.
  6. Who makes that white 66 kit? I'm working on converting a 69 to a much older version and its proving to be a tremendous amount of work. If I can locate and get my hands on one of those 66 kits I might have an easier go of it. Plus that kit has some killer engine detailing compared to the 1985 Revell release of the 69.
  7. Sorry for the duplicate pic. I thought I posted pics of both sides.
  8. A minor update on this build. Things are going slow as I am building this truck in the cab of an 18 wheeler. Is there a way to change the title of this thread to something more fitting?
  9. Few years back I was using my x-acto to cut the top of a 57 belair slipped and severed the nerve that runs into my left pinky finger. Finger still works just can't feel anything. Never finished the belair unfortunately. I don't chop tops anymore.
  10. My thoughts and prayers are with Gluhead and his entire family. I hope you get to feeling better soon brother. You have another family here on the boards that needs you too.
  11. Rear suspension cut and manipulated to fit. Now I need to figure out the front. Thanks for lookin y'all.
  12. Thank you everyone for responding to my inquiry. Unfortunately I do not have the space to scratchbuild something that elaborate as I am building this pickup in the cab of an 18 wheeler. I have a very small box with limited supplies and two kits. But I really appreciate the plans provided. I am fixen to cu and manipulate the NASCAR suspension for the truck. I will attempt to post pics once done. Thanks again y'all.
  13. I am building a 1950 Chevy 3100. I am planning on ditching the stock suspension front and rear. I have a Monte Carlo NASCAR front suspension I plan to manipulate to fit for my steers. I want to make a four link for the back. Should I use the NASCAR suspension and just cut and shrink and manipulate it to fit or would it be easier to scratch build one. I am also using the V8 from the same kit with parts box headers valve covers and carb. I really need help figuring out the rear suspension. Maybe someone can help with a four link diagram. Thank you, Rig.
  14. Very nice build neighbor. It sure does not look like any snap kits I have ever built. Great color too.
  15. The owner of these once fantastic driving machines ran out of room in the garage and just could not bare parting with his lovely metal. So he stacked them. What a shame.
  16. Looks to me like someone failed their do test.
