Contest question
el Presidente replied to Jon Cole's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Most places I have entered models at have a rule that previous winners are not eligible to be entered again. This is great, although in the past I mistakingly did enter a previous winner into another contest. I now write on the back of each plaque or trophy, what it was for, so I don't do it again. If it is not a winner previously I don't see areason not to re-enter it at some time in the future. -

The JSMCC held it's annual Christmas Party on Friday night Dec 18. We had over 60 members and guests in attendance. Awards were given out for our Quarterly contest winners for the 2009 building year as well as the top three plaques for our Christmas kitbash contest. This years kit as chosen by majority vote was the AMT/ ERTL Tigershark kit. Pictures can be seen at Dave Wood's fotki site http://public.fotki.com/ClubVic312/jersey-shore-mcc-ch/ The Hot Wheels replica build by Tory Macuro took 1st place, the George Jetson red build done by Gary Husted took 2nd, and the salt flats racer by Mike Napoleon took 3rd. Special recognition awards went to Ed Isnardi and Maureen Gubatosi who spent the last ten years putting out our newsletter. They have now handed over tha reigns to Dave Wood No one left hungry that night as we went thru 6 bags of chips three bags of pretzels, 14 pizza's 24 2ltr bottles of soda and 2 half sheetcakes, and about 5 bags of M&M's provided by Keith Justice. Everyone had a great time.

The Jersey Shore Model Car Club will be celebrating 20 years of glue sniffing fun and good times in 2010. I have been a proud member for about 18 of those years. It is great to see so many clubs , with such great histories. Keep up the fun.

I have worked EMS at E-Town for 35 years, I got to work the starting line with Rick Stewart on Friday, nothing beat being between 2 nitro cars when they are both running fat, I was working top end when Marty Nothstein and then Alexis both went through the nets. I was on Raceway Parks fire truck Sat and Sun. and we were first on scene for both wrecks. Alexis actually called back and asked for a broken piece of the sand barrel be given to her crew so she could have it as a souvenier. Her Dad owns Petron tequila and Paul Mitchell hair care products.

Thanks Gregg, I will check him out. -
Does anyone know where I can find peugeot royal blue paint. I have been able to find it in the U.K. , but they do not ship aerosols overseas. Does anyone make or distribute it here in the U.S. I have a few Elf Tyrell models that I would like to finish. Thanks

how to "rust" aluminum
el Presidente replied to dryvr12's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you have a Michaels or AC Moore or other craft type store, look for Sophisticated Finishes Rust Antiquing Set. It is a 2 part system the will rust anything. The first part is a Metallic surfacer, it is finely ground metal particles in a paint like solution, paint it on let it dry. The second part is the antiquing solution, you paint it on ,it is like a mild acid, and it turns the metal solution to rust. The stuff works great. -

Sorry about that Lyle, I have corrected the link -
We had a great turn out for racing night. We had approx. 50 people attend, that included guests who read about it in the newspapers, members, and invited guests. There were approx. 230 models on display. Guests included Earl Krause from the Area Auto Racing News, 7 time Wall Speedway modified champion Gil Hearne, Car owner Freddie Menschner and Joe from 3 wide picture vault and others. Thanks to Dave Wood there are photo's that can be viewed on his Fotki site : http://public.fotki.com/ClubVic312/jerseyshoremccmarch/
