  1. Nice job so far Brett, keep up the good work
  2. Having just attended the Philadelphia Area Car Modeler's and DelVal IPMS Christmas meeting, and having my own Jersey Shore party, Tri-States, CNJIPMS and Pine Barrens and others, it is that time of year to wish each and every one of you a Safe and Happy Holidasy season. Enjoy your club and personal parties, remember our troops overseas and more importantly, Remember the reason for the season, and of course- KEEP IT FUN.
  3. That kind of shows the world what kind of spiders run through your mind. Great build
  4. Just to add my two cents, I have won quite a few awards without going for all the whistles and bells. Plug wires, battery cables and a few other aftermarket items are about it. The rest is just good build techniques and clean workmanship. I build for myself first and if it looks good to me then I may put it in a contest to see how I do against others. My motto, and the motto for my clubhas always been, Keep It Fun. I have seen many contest models that have way to many sparkly things, that catch the judges eyes, and make them look past bad techniques. Go as far as you want, but have fun doing it, otherwise you are doing it for the wrong reasons, as Ricky Nelson sang, you can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving from myself, my family and all the members and families of the Jersey Shore Model Car Club
  6. Just wanted to post a big Thank you to the members of the LIARS club for the fantastic job they did once again hosting their model show. The members of the Jersey Shore Model Car Club once again had a great time in our annual visit to Freeport Long Island, and even took home some hardware. Thanks again guys for a job well done
  7. Fantastic build of a true classic. Before NHRA homogenized fuel cars and regulated back yard engineering
  8. It was a truly great day, display, build, take massive amounts of pictures, learn and meet great people. I am looking forward to the next one.
  9. Sophisticated finishes works great for me, the only problem I have with it is the iron metallic surfacer hardens in the bottle after a few uses. I end up having to throw almost half a bootle away all the time
  10. The JSMCC celebrated it's 20th year of existance July 2010. We had a cake to celebrate this milestone
  11. The June meeting was the nomination of officers, John Stark was elected President, Dave Wood VP, Joe Milko Treasurer,Bill Merz, Sec. and Keith Justice Sgt. at Arms. All were nominated and unopposed Congradulations to all, and good luck
  12. Good deal Gregg, let's remember it's a hobby, keep it fun
  13. As a Union Tin knocker I use the metal tape alot. It is extremely adherent and sticks real good to skin. I have not used it on model paint but I would be very cautious as I think it would pull the paint off. I saw it used as a brush metal finish for firewalls on hot rods in one of the mags though
  14. Once again great pics Dave, it's nice when everyone can come out and show their woodies
  15. Working at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park for the past 35 years, it is always a pleasure to see your work John. It reminds me of when racecars were works of art and sometimes sick imaginations. Great job
  16. Just wanted to throw out a Happy Easter to evryone from the Jersey Shore Model Car Club. Whatever you religious affiliation is have a great day. Spend it with family or friends or maybe work on a kit, whatever your preferance, enjoy the day
  17. Thru many checks of various internet searchs I could find no referance nor any Obits for one Ivan Steppenik. I would say it's a good April 1 story. Set the drag a little looser next time to play the fish a little longer
  18. Don't forget Aprils Jersey Shore meeting will be on the 2nd Friday, so we don't have to wrry about a Friday meeting and the next day being the NNL
  19. TSSMCC meets the second Saturday of each month at St Paul's Evangelical Church at 231 First Street Perth Amboy, NJ at 12:00 Noon.
  20. Jeez UB I'm ashamed. The closest you could come up with is Gilbertville. Not the NNL, not Mosquitocon not even The Big Sit, which you organize. What are you stroking out on us. Come back to us, Bobby come back
  21. Myself and any number of the Jersey Shore irregulars will be there also, Cheeseburger here we come
  22. Floyd is the one working on the diarama. I think it is his first attempt
  23. Nice pics Dave. Sorry I could not get there in time. By the time I showed up, everyone had already left. I caught up with a few at the diner though
  24. Nice build Mike. I had 2 1:1 Cuda's a 64 and a 66 with the 225 slant 6. I built the Monogram 1/32 kit. I like the paint job, very nice.
  25. This Friday is Drag race night and the Paint it black quarterly contest. Hope to see you there
