  1. I figure ill paint the spare engine hugger. Thatll look cool sitting beside it
  2. I went ahead and decided that to paint the car the popular blue we all like on these. I really wanted to engine to stand out and ive seen most have done either hugger or red so I shot it with just a base coat to dull it. Aluminium heads, or as pictured anyway. The body will have clear. I was too excited to order the correct paint so I just ran down to oreilys and picked up some stuff. I got Duplicolor BGM0539 replaces T155 and some of their matching clear. Layed down good. The bodys drying ill post pics soon sorry for the continuing poor photo quality taking
  3. what is BMF and how do you black wash a grill?
  4. awesome job! the weathering is cool. I like the wheels
  5. nice ill prob do that myself. Did you go all the way through like even through the wheel backings?
  6. I painted the sway bar an army green idk why but it stands out too much. Think of it as a special edition
  7. This one was fun! Ive had it for over a year. The engine and most of the suspension is all aluminumed out. The heads are flat black, there are red and blue fittings accents all over. The engine was my favorite part. This kit has a beautiful engine! The body was a quicky, I used krylon blue turned out decent. Sports car club of america sticker under the hood that you cant see cause of my useless camera. The drive shaft is not in there correctly but I dont wanna go back and fix it. Once again sorry for the poor photos. Enjoi!
  8. I'd really like to get those slicks roughed up looking like they've made some passes. If anyone could help me out with that one i'd appreciate it
  9. I got ahold of this kit back in march. Ive been slowly working on it here and there. My grandfather had a black 67 just like this one but with a 383 so I wanted to try and make it as close to his as possible except for the engine. Ill post pics of his real charger soon. I went ahead and dressed up the engine with some krylon red, some aluminium for the heads, intake mani, "cool can", front cover pulleys. Brushed the rad cap, battery, hoses, etc. The body was sprayed with pactra rc lacquer I got from a local hobby shop. The interior which you cannot see at all due to my poor photo taking has brushed aluminum accents on the doors, center console and dash board, gauges and such. I used some gray krylon for the interior color cause it was closest to my grandfathers. Turned out nice. The exhaust pipes and headers are painted stainless steel which you prob cant see while the mufflers and exhaust tips were masked and painted aluminum. I like to think that this car has some nice aluminum heads and a good bottom end... imagination strikes. There are some flaws here and there that you cannot see but I try to ignore them. I hope you enjoi it as much as I did building it. Feel free to ask questions.
  10. I dont understand why you drilled out the wheels but id really like to see that I never primer any of my models unless theyre real bad. I prob will with this one cause I wanna make it awesome
  11. I went ahead and ordered one. Should be here monday. Ive been looking at a few pics of the kit I googled and am very excited! What parts need preped? and im having a hard time deciding what color to paint the block. Im thinking either hugger or matching color of body which is undecided
  12. What do you suggest? Im just looking for a good color for headers.
  13. Im having a hard time finding steel colored paint that a lot of models call for. There are no hobby shops in my area so ill have to use an online store. I use a lot of aluminum for heads, intake mani's and such. Im trying to paint some headers and id like to use steel so it wont match the rest of the engines components. All ive found is this color through Testors on this website but im afraid that it being stainless may look too similar to aluminum. Anyone have a place that might have what im looking for or im even open to different color ideas http://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Detailing_and_Weathering/TES00001452/product.php?s=3&t=1&u=0&pg=4&ppp=48&sb=stocknumber&so=a&e=0
  14. thats insane. Im an import guy myself and want to know where the hell you found this. Love the B-series!
  15. man that is crazy. I love this car!
  16. love it. very old school
  17. that thing is bad. I love the factory overspray youve done on the underside. cant get much more realistic than that. Very Cool
  18. Nice. I cant find it let me know what page its on. There's 200+ pages. I doubt ill go much over with stock on the Audi though im having thoughts on keeping the brakes that connect in between the wheels for something else later on. R8 brakes on an old muscle car. I think that would be cool. I thought about the R8 engine in the Chevelle but it would be hard to figure out a tranny that would be compatible/believable to anyone since its a rear engine with the tranny already connected. Maybe, but im liking how its looking so far and the chevelle is something I built as a kid and not really wanting to change. I have 4 more cars Ill post soon. knarf, What are your plans with the R8 engine you didnt use?
  19. I should have had a dif name on this post knowing i would show multiple builds..
