Custom Hearse replied to Custom Hearse's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I also cut out the t-tops.... I used the wheels from the Revell re-issue of the '70 T/A. I painted the sides, and centerline of the spokes gold. The front wheel.... The rear wheel.... -
I've been building this for about 4 weeks.... It all started with a pic sent tome from a friend: I received this in an e-mail.... I used the front nose from a Monogram '77 T/A.... And tailights from an AMT '77 T/A....

Custom Hearse replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
All I could find on The King at wally weird was a shake me car.... If I find anything else of it I plan to collct it! -
I've been working on this project for a little over a year, and I finally decided to finish it.... I built a 426 hemi with a six pack intake.... I saw one done in a Mopar mag. I used a Monogram '71 GTX kit, and the nose and wing from the Monogram '70 superbird kit. Hope you like it, and thanks for looking!

Years ago, I had a 1/16th scale pantera kit, that had a clear body on it. For the life of me, I can't remember who produced it. I wish I still had it.....

Here's the engine.... It was a little tricky to build. It looks pretty busy.... Alot of parts to put together. Needs a little more detailing to it, but it came out great. And yes, I know the engine isn't supposed to be red, but I felt like painting it red!

Got the interior almost complete. I need to pick up some plastic rod, so I can build the full roll cage.... Pics coming soon! -
I was actually thinking of making it a street rod, but if I wouldn't mind seeing the pics of the race version. If you can post them, go ahead and post them here. Thanks, Marshall.

Happy to do it Camaroman. I picked this one up at Hobby Lobby on clearance. Be careful when you cut the parts off the trees, they are VERRRYYY fragile.

I was going online to get info on the 1:1 car, and found that people on evilbay were selling it for $39.00! I almost didn't buy it because I've got a whole lot projects I'm already working on. I've got the engine built and painted, and the body is in primer. I'll post some more pics of it later. Until then, later!

This was originally a Ecto-1 ambulance, That I have been customizing for awhile now. I've been working on it for about two years, because I keep changing the body on it. I chpped the top at the front, by cutting the A-pillars at the bottom, then cutting the B-pillars at the top. Then I pushed the roof down to where it looked right to me, then marked the pillars where they needed to be cut, then I superglued the roof to the newly cut pillars. I then cut the front clip off to make a tilt front end for the hearse. I scratchbuit a cover for the rear most window, then cut out a custom window shape at the back of the cover. I then added a custom shape to the rear side doors windows. I then decided to change the door opening shape to match the windows. The photo above shows the original shape of the opening. The photo above shows the door after it was customized. I bought two Monogram '59 Elderado kits for the frames. I measured how much I needed to cut the frames so I could stretch them, and then cut them. And then I put them together. Let me know what you think.

That would be awesome if they were still available! I'd have a whole fleet of hearses, and I would build some of the ideas that I have without the worry of having to find another kit if I messed up one I was going to cut up. But like I said, they're getting harder to find..... -

I stopped at Hobby Lobby today and found a 1/16th scale 1955 Mercedes 300 SL "Gullwing" coupe from Minicraft. I was looking through the clearance shelves and found it with the price tag of $11.39. The hood, doors and trunk all open on it. I'll post some pics soon.

Gasser- All of Jo-Han's hearse and ambulance kits are getting harder to locate, and are getting expensive. I bought 3 of the heavenly hearses, and paid almost $300 for them. I wishing that the current owner of Jo-Han would re-issue the kits, but that depends on if he has the molds, and if they are still usable.... Billy- I painted it a black mettalic from Dupli-Color. The paint came out excellent, and the clearcoat is excellent. I'm gonna wet sand the clearcoat one more time to get the 2 or 3 dust specks out of it, give it another coat of clear, and then polish it out. -
