  1. Yeah... I get lost working on a model and forget about smoking too. Looks like you got a good project going there. I'm looking forward to seeing the paint job you're giving it. Keep up the good work!
  2. I wish you the best of luck Jim! I'm exactly like Trogdor... I was able to quit everything else with no problems, but smoking has got a hold on me that's tough to break. I was smoking 1 pack every 24 hours, but I've cut back to 1 pack every 36 hours. I usually smoke 1 cig an hour, and 1/2 a cig an hour at work.
  3. That looks perfect. It looks like an old gasser that has been sitting in storage for several years. I love it! On the subject of the paint explosion, was it the can of paint sitting on a warm stove that you are talking about? I remember someone talking about it a few years back...
  4. Thanks Greg! I prefer to paint, but when the high outside is 6, polishing a molded color body is a whole lot easier!
  5. That is gorgeous!
  6. I've bought a few models from Canada...
  7. You gonna build the Vette too? I'm gonna watch all the builds you have going, that's for sure!
  8. I think that's an ant trying to find a way to get to the pizza Harry... Poor things starving:lol:
  9. Sorry Ron, I mis-understood you... I polished the plastic with some polish instead of painting it. One of the reasons I haven't done much work on the limo is because it's too cold to paint, so I figured I'd build one that I could polish up and build.
  10. I met Don Prudhomme at O.C.I.R. when I was 12. I was walking around the pits wearing a very old Prudhomme T-shirt I got when I was 9. I was looking at Army fliers at his pit, when I heard someone say "Pssst, Hey kid..." I looked over and saw him sitting on the back of his trailer. He asked me how long I had the T-shirt. Before I could answer, told me to come over. I walked over and he reached into a box, and pulled out a team shirt(not like the shirts you got at the concession stand), and then he handed me a Cam2 T-shirt as well. I was astounded! I immediately changed shirts, and went to my step Dad and told him what happened. I gave my step Dad the Cam2 shirt. I wore that shirt almost everyday, and wore it out. I was so thrilled with his generosity. I'd like to send him a thank you note to let him know how much I appreciated it...
  11. I build models J. As a matter of fact, I'm working on a 6' brunette...
  12. Yeah... I noticed that when I watched the movie... I noticed the pulley wasn't moving, although I don't think it sucked... it just sat there... Keep up the great job, I wanna see it when the updates are posted.
  13. Did you steal my pics??? You could always tub the flatbed. As for shortening it, I don't see why. Somebody mentioned that the dual wheels were not included in the Lindberg release... That kinda sucks if it is true... Okay, time for an update soon Billy!
  14. Molded in black? Nope... I brush painted the top. It came out kinda cruddy the first coat, so I gave it a second coat, and it came out perfect... Maybe... Anybody else wanna figure out where I cheated? Hehehehe...
  15. Looks great! Are you gonna make it before or after the car got shot up? Just curious...
  16. I want to see if anyone can guess... Wanna give it a try Greg? Yeah... Even though I stepped away from the limo, it's still lurking in the shadows!
  17. Here ya go... This is the original box...
  18. So... Has anyone guessed about what I meant when I added a little cheating never hurt?
  19. Thanks Billy!!! Your '34 is looking great. Can't wait to see more of it!
  20. Thanks Ron! The decals should be in anytime now. I just thought it stunk that Monogram didn't add the wing logo, but I guess they couldn't get the licensing. Thanks Nick! I'm a big Petty fan. The hair you see isn't stuck to the car... I just didn't see it when I took the pics. It's gone now. Thanks Harry! I just need to touch up the silver paint on it. I ran out of chrome foil, so I just decided to paint the trim.
  21. Thanks Mark! Appreciate the compliment!
  22. Looks great Billy. I built the original AMT '34 for the farm truck build off, with the satkebed and used the flat head with a supercharger. I also added pro street tires to the rear and gave it a "gentleman's top chop". I like the idea for the separated paint scheme. Keep up the great work, and I'm looking forward to seeing more!
  23. Hi everyone! I wanted to get away from the Corvette limo build for a little bit, so I built this Monogram '70 Superbird in one week. I was afraid if I didn't get away for awhile I was gonna burn out on the limo and then shove it in a box to sit for awhile before I got back on it. The only thing not straight from the box are the wheels, which came in the Monogram Petty Superbird. I thought they looked better than the 500's that came with this kit. I did not detail it at all with engine wiring or anything else, I just put it together for the fun of it. The decals are not on it yet. I ordered a set from Keith Marks, because this kit doesn't include the logo for the wing and the headlight cover. On to the pictures, and thanks for looking!
  24. Pictures Kevin! Pictures!!!! Just kidding, Congrats on the new acquisition!
