  1. After seeing some of these pics, I've decided to tear apart my '34 flatbed and turn it into a custom tow truck! Thanks for the inspiration!
  2. Thanks Matthew! Actually, the tires were junk. I had to super glue them to the wheels to get them to look halfway decent... Thanks Tim! Not the best kit I've ever built, but I bought a bunch of kits from a friend and this was one of them. After I opened it and looked it over, I realized it was a snap together. I was thinking of taking the Cat out and using it on the Volvo 770 kit since it doesn't include an engine.
  3. Thanks Mark! I'm not gonna worry too much about the tab, this was just something I wanted to put together. I painted it Dupli-color deep jewel green #T282. That is the Cat engine that came with the kit. I don't have the correct color for it, so I just painted it orange. Thanks for the compliment James!
  4. I built this Revell 359 Pete in a week... Let me know what you think.
  5. Nice work Darren! I always love these custom builds...
  6. ...And this one...
  7. The 1978 Trans am didn't have a honeycomb grill... It had straight slats that had a diamond shape to it. The honeycomb was only on the 1977.
  8. You're doing the build I've always wanted to do. I'll definitely keep an eye on this build!
  9. KOOL!!!
  10. That looks great Adam! You're doing an awesome job on it. Are you gonna make the chrome less shiny, or leave it like it was cleaned up a bit? Keep up the good work!
  11. I think it looks great! You did an excellent job on it
  12. Thanks Justin... I like that... Super Shaggin' Wagon! That means a lot coming from you Virgil! I really appreciate the compliment!!! Sorry Dan... It's an ancient Chinese secret... No storms of late, just SNOW... Lots and lots of snow... Thanks Mike! I've been watching your van build and it is AWESOME! Keep up the good work! Thanks Kevin... As for the paint color, read the above... I will give a hint, it will be a '70s style paint job. Thanks again everybody for the compliments and encouragement. I'll have another update soon.
  13. Thanks Walt. You need to get yours restored. It'll be cool!
  14. Are you going to post a video of this when you start it up and drive it... What do you mean 1/24th? :P
  15. I'd like to see the inboard set up myself. Looks more organized that way... But either way, it's gonna be awesome!!!
  16. You have a point Don, but I do love the looks of the A.G. coupe. If I was to build something of my own design, I'd probably never finish it. I 'm still working on the "Merodder", and I've been on it for 3 years! I don't think I'd ever see the end of a 1/8th scale custom! Your C-Cab is looking great though. Keep up the awesome work!!!
  17. Hmmm... How did that old saying go? Oh yeah! If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Dave was just trying to help out with leather detailing. If you don't agree with what he has to show, go somewhere else. It's as simple as that. He showed us his work with chroming. If you didn't agree with what he has to say, go somewhere else. It's as simple as that. He is trying to make people happy, by helping them learn. If you don't want his help, go somewhere else. It's as simple as that If you have problems typing fast, you probably need to go to a whole different website. It's as simple as that. But if you have something constructive to say without tearing someone down, you are more than welcome to add your say. As for scale asylum, I've seen what people had to say about others here. I just have the courtesy not to spill the beans on your opinions, like the guy who laid into George, but it does remind me of another forum that has the same initials... I applaud you Jody for your input. You are an honorable person.
  18. I acn think of several who like nothing better than to beat up on others...
  19. WOW... This is depressing. You can actually tell who came from scale auto, scale asylum, and some of those other forums that shoot others down just for kicks. This used to be a friendly place to come to, but you get a few people have nothing better to do than belittle others because they have a mentally challenging habit that they can't seem to get over. If you have a problem with your feelings about how nice someone builds, go elsewhere. I learned a lot from people who were kind enough to share what they know, like Dave(whom I gave credit to for the idea of a custom car I've been working on) and I like to show what I did to make a kit the way I've built it. If anyone wants to know how to work on something, the person tries to help out as much as possible... But then someone who thinks they know everything has to jump in and add his venom. This is not a place to shoot someone down, this is a place we come to grow as modelers, as well as human beings. I miss the friendship and comadre of modelers talking and learning for the betterment of their lives. But some of you out there just want to stir the pot, and proclaim yourselves as kings of the modeling world. As Mark Thompson pointed out, nobodies perfect. I don't care if someone can out build everybody on the board... I'm not here to do that, and I've never noticed Dave ever try to say he does better than anyone. His builds speak for themselves. And I've talked to him here before, and got some great advice on stuff I've worked on. He has been a gentleman and a friend that has no ego problems, unlike others I've seen. So give it a rest...
  20. I believe the work you do here is extraordinary Dave. If there are others out there who feel you are a fraud, they are the ones who have a problem, not you. Remember... Turn the other cheek. God bless you and your helping us learn how to improve our skills...
  21. Glad to see you back safe and sound! We're looking forward to seeing your builds again.
