  1. I think it looks FANTASTIC for a third build, love the colors, don't worry about the missed mold lines hey we all miss things from time to time, but now that you know your next build will be better and the next one will be better than the previous and so on, it's a learning adventure but most importantly it's supposed to be FUN!! Just a tip, Google is your best friend when it comes to researching autos your not quite familiar with.
  2. Excellent job Niko, beautiful paint, love the color!!

  4. Jim, that's PURTY, I like it!!
  5. Heck I've tried to just have one build going at one time but I always seem to start another one before I can get it completed I have 3 going right now but I am just about out of somewhere to work so I must complete something before I start soemthing else, yeah what is this focus is that something to eat??
  6. Sounds like you have the best of both worlds Tor, the 1:1 rides in the garage and the scale rides in the attic, pretty SWEET looking workbench area, keep on building my friend!!

  8. Hey Rich, glad you're back in the saddle again man, very cool project, I have a couple I'm planning on doing of cars I've owned in the past too, so can't wait to see more updates I know this will be good!!
  9. Chris, I think we are running out of adjectives to use for this display of GREATNESS out of 2700+ replies I think some have probably been used several times but that's OK you just keep them updates coming it's been a joy to follow you along on this project cause your skills really are insane and hope your dog is doing well!!
  10. Oh, one other thing I almost forgot I often use different colors of washes to tone colors down a bit to sort of bring them into the spectrum of what your looking for, I like The Detailer washes sold by Detail Master they are pretty inexpensive I think they are $3.50 a bottle and come in several different colors, gives you an added dimension to play with so to speak.
  11. Al, I mainly do what Monty suggested, I use Google first to try and find as many pictures of part or parts in question. I also use all the Model Master metalizer paints and if you use an airbrush Alclad has a wide array of metal colors too. I also use flat, semi gloss and gloss black, and also have a few different colors of silver and aluminum, every manufactuer's colors are different. What I do is take some Plastic spoons and spray them with different silvers or black or whatever color and then take a sharpie and write on the handle what it is then you have a color reference to go by and you can kind of match your color spoons to the picture of the part you want to paint. I also mix my own custom colors for different things especially older stock carbs, they have that greenish gold color. I usually take some yellow, black, and gold paint and tweak it until I get it to where my eyes say it matches. So yes it all comes down to pretty much what Monty said, mostly an experiment to get as close as you can with what's available. Hope this helps.
