I have bought several items off of Ebay and have never had a problem, and most of the 1:1 automobiles have some tremendous photos when doing research for a build!! -

Extremely NICE truck, I love the color combination!! -
Hang in there Jeremy, I'm not an expert scratch builder by any stretch of anyone's imagination, but there is a learning curve to it just like anything else, and you are going to mess up some material, so stay with it you'll get it!!

FANTASTIC build Bruce, very NICE and clean!!

NICE and clean, looks good so far, but I have to agree with Lee on his suggestions!

Thanks so much guys for the uplifting comments! I had a lot of fun with this one!! Dale: yes that it the AMT #6926 kit, I've had it forever got two Fairlane 427 kits also one of which is my next project, not going to be detailed like this one, maybe some plug wires and minor stuff Mike: I tried my best to get the factory stock detail correct, with that being said I had every intention on applying the body side stripes, but even with a coat of Micro Scale decal film they still pretty much disintergrated, I did find a few 1:1 that did not have stripes, not sure if they were factory correct or not, but it is what it is Oscar: just can't squeeze out any more spare time right now Rich: I have been watching and taking notes from your fabulous interiors!! One other thing in the engine pic taken from the side there is a black stripe across the altenator that is the top bracket, not painted but a Detail Master PE bracket, this car was built before the invention of the floating altenator, just incase Harry takes a peek!! it's got mirrors too!!

OK guys and gals, here's my 66 fairlane in all it's glory, I hope you all enjoy viewing as much as I enjoyed building it!! I have included a pic of the detailed rear end before assembly cause you just can't see it well under the car and a couple interior pics before assembly. I scratch built a few items and they are side mirrors, rear view mirror, battery relay selinoid, steering box, dip stick and tube, antenna, door handles. Shock towers are from Scott at Futurattraction, all other detail items are from Detail Master and ProTech. Seatbelt material is a decorative ribbon I found at Hobby Lobby. All interior trim is BMF except the steering wheel and it is hand painted with brush. Paint is Rustolem cobalt blue metallic, and Rusoleum 2X clear Interior paint is Rustoleum semi gloss black Engine paint is Dupli Color Ford blue And as always all comments welcomed Thanks for taking the time to look!!
