  1. Chuck its pretty funny you say that because as it sits on the shelf there is a bass boat behind it lol , and Chris thanks, I tried really hard to get that "real" look with it, wanted it to look like a it was a daily driver for 20 years. I was thinking that painting the grill guard black might look a little better.
  2. Thanks guys, I'm really happy about how the paint came out too.
  3. Thanks everyone, glad you all like it, and HJRacing I don't know what size they scale out to but they are from a cj-5 kit. I would guess maybe 31's or 33's
  4. I finished this up maybe a month ago and haven't had a chance to post pics till now ,been super busy lately. I built it as a 4x4 f250, scratch build the back rack and modified a grill guard from a bronco to put on it. I haven't decided on a motor yet, I've been trying to squeeze a 460 in it but it might be to tight a fit, so for now nothing under the hood. Overall I like it a lot, my first attempt at a two tone paint job and it came out great, it is a work truck though so I decided not to give it a shiny finish. Hope you guys like it.
  5. Thanks guys, Tim this is from the monogram F250 Kit, it would be good to use for the frame and some suspension parts but to do an 86 you'd have to kitbash the monogram 80 flareside and depending on the truck you'd need a bronco for a fleetside bed.
  6. Man that is one mean lookin truck, Really nice job.
  7. Looks really good, You did a great job on it. Sucks about the windows but then again most models have the windows "down" so it doesn't look weird the way you did it.
  8. That model looks really cool, one of my favorite cars. Your decals look good too. Here's a pic of the one my Dad had last year, that one was the real deal he sold it when we moved (I took lots of reference pics for building).
  9. Thanks Aaron, I agree while it would be nice to have an engine, how often would I go over and lift the hood on my shelf anyway? And I totally agree, a hard top would be sweet for this kit, I thought about making a bakini top out of something. and I'm also super excited for the raptor kit, it has a lot of potential.
  10. Thanks guys, glad you like the pics. JT I would do that but it would leave a hole in the driveway haha. I will probably just slap some mud on a piece of wood and add some moss and rocks.
  11. Did this as an in between projects quick build. It's box stock except for the spare tire on the back and some weathering. I like the kit because of the cool looking jeep when it's finished but I wish it had a bit more detail, mostly an engine. I'm probably going to make a base for it later as well. But for now outside pics look cool.
  12. Thanks guys, I'm real happy everyone likes this one (since it is of my actual truck haha). And Dan I've always loved older single cab trucks, I like most pickups but those are my favorites. I have had a couple extended cab and shortbeds myself too though, I like them all.
  13. That shortbox looks really cool Roger, I like the grill a lot. Thanks mike glad you like it and I will definitely check them out for the tool box thanks.
  14. Thanks again everyone glad to see you guys are liking this one. Wow Kurt did you borrow my truck and lower it? haha that's a real nice truck there, I'd love to see that model when you build it. And Roger I'd love to see the ones you've worked on as well, my first vehicle was another 89 F150 but shortbed reg cab.
  15. Thank you, The tires on this are from the revel rubicon kit to answer an earlier question. Also on the bronco conversion I think the entire lower section of the truck would need to be switched because the bronco has different body lines, I was wondering if it would be possible to cut the bedsides and cab on the f250 and mold them together to make a bronco body and then just use the chassis, interior tub, and the cap from the bronco.
  16. Glad to see another modern pickup truck kit coming out, If this one does well maybe we will get to see more trucks in the future. I'll definitely pick one or two of these up, I love the raptors.
  17. I would love to do a bronco that bodystyle as well, I've toyed with the idea a bit but never really looked at what would have to be done to either kit to make the conversion.
  18. Thanks everyone, glad to see you guys like it, and Gary the monogram 1980 bronco is the one I got the suspension out of. It is the closest to stock I could get for this truck. I've always been a ford guy (I've had 6 ford pickups) and I agree they have made some good trucks, I'm a fan of pickups of any make though.
  19. This is one I've been working on for a few months now and have a couple little things to finish up but its pretty much done. Its the monogram f250 cut to a single cab and built as a replica of my 1:1 truck. There's probably 4 kits that donated parts to this one but definitely worth it. The exhaust ends at a muffler dumping out behind the cab just like the real one. It has a 4x4 conversion using the bronco front suspension. I used the actual 6 inch rough country lift on the real truck to get the right parts on the model and basically its just really big lift blocks between the leaf springs and the axle in back and drop brackets for all of the TTB parts up front. I still have to make some shocks for it and make the drive shafts. I also need a toolbox for the bed, if anyone can help me out with that I would appreciate it. This was my first shot at cutting a cab down and modifying a kit this much (have to thank kitbasher for showing how to cut this kit down) and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
  20. looks really nice. Those tires look cool, same ones I have on my 1:1
