  1. Oh ok, that drop hitch looks cool on there.
  2. Looking good so far. Is that hitch from this kit?
  3. This truck is pretty much what I'll be going for but I'll be leaving the kit a crew cab. I want to try and scratch build the v-plow.
  4. That looks really cool, can't wait till mine gets here!
  5. I will have to do that I didn't even notice that, thanks.
  6. Thanks again guys glad you like it, and I was gonna put a 4 wheeler in the bed but it doesn't fit because of the roll bar so I have it in another truck.
  7. Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. Glad you like it.
  8. So I had some fun with this one haha, I thought it would be funny to build a camo pickup so I did. It's the AMT F150 flareside with a straight axle conversion from the GMC plow truck. I didn't go too crazy, just did some detailing to the engine and interior. I found that the kit exhaust wouldn't fit with the new suspension so I made a custom side exit one with bmf for a tip. I swapped out the cheezy plastic spare tire for one of the rubber ones that comes with the truck (didn't need them anyway since I used tires from the GMC). I haven't figured out the transfer case yet because the one I was going to use is simply not going to fit, so it will go without for awhile. In the end I smile at it because camo trucks are funny, hope you guys get a chuckle out of it too. Also the headlights look kind of weird in the pics, I'm not sure why because they look fine in person.
  9. Wow that looks awesome, it looks really cool lifted.
  10. Thanks guys! I love the plum crazy, I'm working on a 2009 superbird that will probably be plum crazy as well.
  11. That looks awesome! that poor truck, too much hay haha
  12. That's pretty cool lookin, great lookin truck with a big lift.
  13. I found those posts, I'll have to try that method and see how it comes out.
  14. Thanks guys, and here you go Dan, I didn't think to post this earlier. This isn't the truck I bought it for but that one is still on the workbench so this is it's temporary home.
  15. So I saw this on Ebay and thought it would look cool in the bed of one of my 1:24 pickup truck models. It arrived and looked way to cheesy for me to not customize it. So I took it apart and sprayed it flat tan (one of the camo spray paint cans), painted the wheels flat black, detailed the engine, and painted the headlight and taillight. I also added a shotgun and a winch from the parts box. I think it looks much better now . The first pic is of how it came.
  16. Those look so awesome! I'm a huge fan of those movies too.
  17. Wow those mirrors do sound like a lot of work but I think I might give them a try. I had an idea to actually cut the molded in badges off of another truck and then BMF them, problem then is I have to either scrap a whole cab of the truck I cut up or fill in the area where the badges were to try and save it.
  18. I am using the 1:1 as a reference for the lift. It isn't to complicated looking but I haven't started on the model's suspension yet so I will probably find it to be harder than it looks , I'm using the F250 rear axle and the '80 bronco front suspension. I am at a point where the truck is painted and the interior is done (which looks almost identical to your models interior but my 1:1 has power windows) I just have frame and engine left. The 1:1 is an '89 F150 xlt lariat not an F250 but funny enough I actually get that question a lot from people who see it in person, it does have the look of the 250. I was also wondering if you ever figured out the badge problem you had with your model, I have a decal that will work but it's kinda lame looking compared to the big badges on the truck, and how did you make those mirrors they look 100 times better than the bronco ones.
  19. I'm hoping revell throws us a money maker as well and reissues the '80 flareside. I also have a resin copy of the 76/77 grill from blue oval laying around, and a bigfoot grill. Not sure if I'm going to use them on this kit though, I prefer the 79 grill.
  20. Thanks again for the good reviews guys, I know what you mean Teddy, I had an old F150 with rust holes big enough to fit my head through. Gotta love these old trucks and their "Character"
  21. Oh I've already gotten some helpful hints from your WIP Hugh, love how your truck came out you did some amazing work. I used your guide to cut my cab and interior, still have to do the frame though. I also have to figure out the suspension because not only would I have to lift it to the 4x4 height, mine has a six inch lift so I have to go extra high. Also gotta get my hands on a toolbox for the bed.
  22. Thanks Bob!
  23. Ha Ha I've seen a few trucks like this around Maine this winter Todd, sort of inspired me to finish this build up.
  24. I am working on a replica of my 1:1 (pictured) using the monogram 91 F250 and I have these little bumper guards that I would like to put on the model. I have seen them for the 79 Ford Pickup but not for this body style. If anyone knows of some resin ones or has any tips on how I could make them I would appreciate the help.
