I kind of like the rear the way you have it, I also like that you kept the '58 roof vent. What type of moulding are you thinking about? Looking forward to seeing more.

Kenneth, The way you cut the top, reshaped the hood and the style of skirts your custom is starting to look like Bill Carr's Barris Aztek Showcar. Keep up the good work it's shaping up well.

I like that subtle cowl induction style scoop on the hood and that beautiful jet black paint job. It adds a lot of muscle to the Merc.Great job!

This at least one of the cheapest midlife crisis' I could have chosen.I seam to be enjoying it more also, Probably because we can afford to get all the kits we want to now. -
Thanks for the comments everyone. I don't plan on chopping this one Mike, the support pillars A and C are a little to thin, plus with opening doors there is not a lot keeping this car together as is.

Here are some pics of a project I'm working on.It is a '56 Ford Victoria with a few body mods in various stages of completion.Plans are to paint it an aqua marine blue-green. I also plan to airbrush some tikis and tribal designs on the hood and possibly trunk.Let me know what you think, comments and ideas always welcomed.

Nice interior Andy, I like the gold paint on the BMF on the dash center trim.

not your typical 58 belvedere 2.18.14 finished!

Like what you did with the rear nerfs and exhaust. I think the side trim looks good, it breaks up the large body panels. -
Exellent build ! I think I'm going to have to find one of these kits to build.

That's a nice Hudson !

Like what you did with the tail lights. Do you have an interior picture? From what I can see of the dash it looks as nice as the exterior. Great build!
-
Speechless, Iv'e seen a lot of things done to a Merc, but never gull wing doors. Very creative and well executed build!

A lowered Batmobile,Huh... I never thought about doing that........I don't know why, I lower everything. Great Build.

Thanks for the welcome guys. -
Very clean build, nice choice of rims and tires. It has a retro - 60's feel to it. I like that Champagne paint job, not a color that you see alot of. Cheers!

Great job on the Flintstone Hudson pick up, I have one of these bodies and now may have to put it ahead of other projects after seeing how nice yours came out.Iv'e got a soft spot for Hudsons. -
Nicely done, It would be great to find a real one in this kind of shape.

Getting back into the hobby after a twelve year or so hiatus. I built mostly 40's and 50"s customs but did a street rod once in a while. Before that I used to model cars with the Delaware Valley Scale Modelers in Pennsylvania in the 80's.I now reside in North Texas. I'm glad to see laquers making a come back (automotive laquer was all I used back in the day) and the kits seem to be of much better quality then I remember ,though the prices are much higher now. In the past month I have picked up a dozen or so plastic and resin kits. I've started on a Revell Merc and a Jimmy Flintstone cast of the Hirohata Merc. I'm glad I stumbled upon this forum, it looks to be very friendly, informative and full of great model builders. Hope to learn some things and to contribute where I can.

That T-bird scoop looks great, shaving the stock mouldings and cleaning up the bumper area with the nerfs definitely smoothes its lines. Are you planning on any new mouldings down the sides? Something maybe thin and spear like above the lower body line. Looking forward to your progress on this build.
