  1. Doug, the engine you're using is the turquiose one in the photo? Just leave it un-wired. My current project ('71 duster 340) was started in '99? (I had been building non stop at that point for about three years, completed about 10 builds) I painted the body then and put it away. Didn't do 'any' modeling until 2011 which was building the engine (single 4-barrel) for that car, everything except the decal for the air cleaner. Started modeling again about four months ago, one build completed, one not. Then I started on the Duster again, and , screwed up the air cleaner decal. got another decal and screwed that up too! So I thought " I can't do a 'stock' build without the air cleaner decal " and decided to put on the 'Six-Pack' intake. The engine is now finished and am putting in the rear-end stuff now. Should have the under body stuff all done in a few days, maybe today in fact. Wheel/tires are ready. There you go, a 15yr build! Wooohooo!
  2. Thanks you guys. 'Speed City Resin' h is awsome!
  3. Does anyone know if there is a body for a 63-66 Dart? Either stock, or , with altered wheel base for A/FX? thanks.
  4. Looks great Mark! The finished car should be stunning.
  5. Doug, How's that interior coming along? You could alway's build a 1/18 scale 440 and stick that inside the car, lol.
  6. I like it! The chassis detail is very good! Love the Mopars!
  7. This does seem to make sense, but , it's a great forum and I will continue to support it whatever the form.
  8. Attached Thumbnails http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/uploads/post-6643-0-44029800-1390246378.jpg Hey John, that Charlie Allen Dart is bad azz! Talk about a kit that someone should produce! Wow! That's a 426 in that car?
  9. Hey Mike, I'm in KCMO. I've been thinking of going to one of the Slammer meets too but have yet to do so. I did go to a Heartland National back in the late nineties and it was pretty good. More model cars then I've ever seen in one place in my life.
  10. I love cars. A beautiful car is a work of art, so , when I'm building a model that's what I'm trying to bring forth in scale. And I just like getting small.
  11. Thanks Doug! I'm going through the photo's now. I love the shot of this model sitting on the air cleaner of the actual car! Did you know that Model Car Garage has a photo etch set for this car? Look in the Chrysler section '68 Dodge Dart, it says that it's for the Mr. Norm kit, which 'implies' that it has the GSS badges. Don't know for sure.
  12. wow, I'm getting my kit out to see if it has as much flash as your's! Holy smokes! Ok, just looked at it and it has no where near the flash your's does, thank god! In fact it looks very clean, the chrome is beautifully done. Bob, this hobby takes stamina! Your work looks good.
  13. Beautiful Carmin! Paint is exquisite! God bless the '41 Willy's!
  14. Awsome build Ken! Great mods. that color just makes that car look mean!
  15. Just thought I'd give eveyone a heads up on the first major auto race of the year. Starts at 2:30 ET Saturday the 25th. Not sure which network(s) will carry it, should be a great race. YES!
  16. "If the hobby didn't die in the 70's and 80's when the cars were replicas of some of the least inspiring automobiles ever created -- man I can NOT wait until the next CHEVETTE model!!! Get out the way the new Pinto kits are in!!! -- then I think things are just fine and well into the foreseeable future. I'm pulling my lawn chair up James.
  17. Welcome John, both models look good. Is there a windshield on the '06?
  18. Herve, show us what you got. Welcome aboard!
  19. Welcome Mike, rust never sleeps.
  20. Exactly what I've been thinking. We Americans don't see ourselves as 'builders' anymore, so , the idea that we 'build things' is not being passed on. Maybe the future market for modeling exists in China since they are still building things. Ah, what the hell, I'm on my way in a few minutes to my LHS, going to buy some after-market tires! Like Dave Van says, the hobby at present is good and looking up, build my friends build! It's in our DNA!
  21. Brandon, I always test fit wheels/spindles before any assembly, or , painting. If things are too tight I sand/file/trim as needed. I also don't put any paint on the spindles, (the part that goes inside the wheel) or , the inside of the wheels where they fit onto spindles. This way minimal force is required to attach. If everything is glued properly it should stay together. And yes, 'sometimes' (rarely) it's better to put the wheels on suspension 'before' attaching to chassis, but I don't normally do it that way. Hope this helps in future.
  22. Looks good Jim! Where did you get the 'Crazy' plate? Did you hand paint the wheels?
  23. Very cool Patrick, beautiful! Road racing lives! Thanks for posting this.
