  1. Weird, and , cool if true. But a 327 as the suggested mill? Sacrilege.
  2. Seems there are a lot of people, (myself included) , returning to the hobby, after extended breaks. Many people seem to be returning who haven't built since their childhood. Just wondering if our numbers are growing. And will this continue as the 50+ crowd retires?
  3. This thing is gaining traction!
  4. John, is there an example of one of the '64-66' 'Hustle Stuff' 426 A-bodies to look at? I started this thread because a friend of mine said he saw one ('66 Barracuda) at auction recently and I said that know such car(s) ever existed, that had direct involvement from Chrysler.
  5. I saw him on here a couple of days ago I think.
  6. Good point JC. I actually like the 'competition' idea.
  7. He moved it, to the dust bin of history.
  8. Right. Come on Harry, join the movement!
  9. So where should this thread be?
  10. I think road racing deserves it's own catagory. I'm fine with NASCAR and DRAG Racing having their own.
  11. YES! Another voice!
  12. Seriously though, I think this could potentially bring in hundreds of new builders to the site. Harry and Casey will let us know.
  13. Maybe that 'new' catagory could be called 'Road Racing' and incorporate all it's form's. I mean 'most' of the racing in the world on the whole 'is' road racing, so I think the traffic there once established could be considerable, and , very educational. Look at the 'racing' models that Tamiya produces, almost (if not) all are 'road racing' models, so somebody is building them.
  14. Doug, the Dart looks great! (really). I literally had the body of that kit out of the box tonight sitting next to my work bench trying to decide what colors I'm going to use. It is my 'next' build (currently working on AMT '71 Duster 340) as I've entered it in the 2014 Cannonball run community build project, so I'll be following your progress closely. In all honesty I found this thread after doing a Google search of this site looking for threads on Mr' Norm's '68 Dodge Dart! And whala! Here you posted this yesterday. So, keep it going man, love the green AND the turquoise engine looks great. This winter is kiling me too, but , we gotta keep goin' and having something to do inside REALLY helps. Thanks for posting and welcome aboard.
  15. John, were the 'D-Darts' available to the general public? Sound like a little screamer. Ok, your edited post pretty much answers that question.
  16. Craig, so then you know very well the challange of trying to put a 426 in a first gen (63-66) A-body! Hell, those things would be hard pressed to hold a 340!
  17. Wow, even the car on the box art doesn't look right.
  18. Right, in '68 they (Chrysler) 'farmed out' either 48-50 Darts to have 426's installed for sale/use by professional drag teams, prior to that there was no such effort. There might have been cars that had Chryslers 'blessing' prior to '68, but , they were not directly, or , indirectly involved. My friend says he saw a '66 Barracuda, with a 426 that was the result of Chryslers involvement similar to that of the '68 cars. Anyway, thanks for the response. I know there are people on here that will know the 'exact' history of 426 A-bodies.
  19. A friend of mine says he recently saw a 'factory prepped' '66 A-body with a 426 Hemi, I thought this didn't occur until '68?
  20. A friend of mine told me yesterday that he saw a '66 Barracuda factory prepped drag car with a 426ci hemi in it on Barrett-Jackson. I didn't think that the factory (Plymouth/Dodge) put 426's in any A-bodies until '68? Does anyone know? Seems like an incredible feat fitting that engine in a first generation A-body. Thanks.
  21. Nice looking car.
  22. Still a cool looking model George.
  23. Very nice build Brian, don't let it spoil!
  24. Very nice build! Put the 'stock' back into American racing!
  25. Beautiful job Tulio, you bring much talent to the table! But, I think more importantly you love what you do! And it shows.
