Thanks Bryan...much appreciated! I don't mind going through all the pages either...been trolling around here trying to take in all I can.
-
Rollbar looks great! The shrink wrap and thread pull the look off.
-
Wow this is awesome...I also love the seat belts...the wheels are perfectly done and that dash is just awesome!! Great work! This is inspiring for me.

Do you have any examples Bryan of the headers to kind of give me an idea? Also do you or anyone know how I can fix an issue with this Firebird...my problem is the chassis must be warped or out of wack...it sits on three wheels and there really is no adjustment I can do with the wheels the way they mount...I thought maybe heating it but not real sure how to go about it...any ideas would be great?? and thanks in advanced!!

Thanks Bryan and I will have to try that. Monty I took your advice and opened up the holes in the steering wheel. And my trailer came in the mail today.

1/24 scale Roy and yes it is Jurgen. I am going more for a custom look than factory. I wish I had the skill to build headers for it but unfortunately at this point I just don't have those skills being my 3rd buid after many years being away from the hobby.

Wow! These are amazing! Nice photos too!

Over the last 6 years I have owned 12 of them and my favorite was my mk5 6 speed 2.0T GLI I built...a few mods and I was getting 270hp and 325tq...the car was wicked fun but as with any VW not fun to pay when they break even working at a VW dealership as I do lol

I like that and the idea of black fender flares.
-
Maybe go with black seats...dash...etc and green carpet?
-
The rear snow tires would be great lol...I would put the rear dog dish covers on though...I love this build though no matter what you choose it looks good.
-
Thanks Monty...I thought about painting the holes black because I knew they weren't supposed to be filled owning two of them before and it totally escaped my mind to just drill them out lol I am popping the wheel off now and again thanks

Thanks...I tried to concentrate a little more on the interior on this build...I want to slowly perfect my skills. Been so long since I really got into models. I am amazed at the builds I see on this forum and I want to try and learn everything I see on here. I hope to be half as good as some of the builders on here...some of them simply amaze me.

Not sure on the flocking colors you have...I just got back onto the hobby after 15 years and I like the way satin black paint has turned out for my interior on the Firebird I am working on...almost looks like leather...green exterior would look good with either black or a tan/brown in my opinion. I love the idea of the Irish flag on the roof...I have Irish blood myself. I would say the cream would be the best of your flocking though if you go with one. Just my opinion of course.

Love the Irish idea...can't wait to see this built. Are you gonna paint the flares?
-
Nice job...the interior turned out nice!

Thanks and I would love to but it is such a small area here not many modelers I know of. We have 2 craft stores to buy models from(which have maybe 10 different models to choose from) and one Toy store that has a decent selection in our area. It would be great to grow the hobby here though. Might be something I will have to look into.

Looks great...the matching steelies set it off for me.

Looking good!

Thanks and some of the builds on here just amaze me. It makes me really want to master my craft. I have been gone from the hobby so long it amazes me to see the things people are doing. I ordered some wiring to do my next build with to add some more details in the engine. I used sewing thread for my spark plug wires like I did as a kid on the GTI build and the Firebird I am doing at the moment thinking it was cool looking until I found this forum. I am glad I found it though and see the things that can be done. Can only get better with practice though.

1959 Dodge -- My Tunaboat Replica -- W.I.P.
Stretch75 replied to Ramfins59's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Sorry you had to get rid of your 59...looks like it was a beautiful ride. Art on wheels. Really sorry you can't drive anymore. One of my favorite things in the world to do and due to an injury I haven't been able to just cruise for the last year but it has lead me back to this hobby after many years and I must say I really missed it. Right now I am also building a car I used to own...a 77 FIrebird only I am doing it the way I wanted to build it before I had to get rid of it years ago with finances being tight and having a family. Best wishes to you Rich and I look forward to watching this build. -
Thanks again everyone...right now I have a 77 Firebird in the works and 13 more sitting on a shelf behind that one. Should keep me busy for awhile.
