  1. I am amazed at some of the stuff available today compared to when I was doing this 40 some odd years ago. In my opinion it has to be the internet and home computer. I can print decals off my printer Find out what color the transmission of a '68 Roadrunner is with a few mouse clicks Order a model from the other side of the earth without speaking to someone Connect with other modelers easily as I can in this forum What are your thoughts?
  2. If anyone is going to the thing at the Summit Fairgrounds, I'd like to meet some of you local guys.
  3. Only 5" last night and freezing rain. Yuck!
  4. I'm in the Akron-Canton area and I was supposed to go to a North Coast Club meeting but the weather was cruddy. Anyone on here belong to that club besides KevinMoparFord? Or live in the area?
  5. Since you are into older BMW's google Peter Nettesheim museum. I used to work at his truck dealership. He is very big into the old BMWs
  6. I'm certain it's better than reading about the Kardashians or branjelina or whoever is on the cover of People at this moment
  7. Thanks I'll check on both.
  8. Does anyone know if it's sold premixed in jar or spray bomb?
  9. Thanks for the kind words.....Next (not so serious) build is a "Paddy Wagon"
  10. Just waiting on decals. I know it's not a serious model, not much to detail on these at all. Trying to relearn all I forgot so long ago.
  11. Is that a small block chevy on that? If so what kit as I need one pretty badly with the blower and carbs
  12. Found him, Thanks. http://www.firebirddesigns.net I will try to make them with the decal paper first. Staples shows it on their website
  13. I have a question.....The old decal sheet was ruined as it just disintegrated as I was trying to remove the paper. I scanned half the sheet and now I need some ideas. I have heard mention of decal paper I can print from my scan onto. I can't find the right info on this
  14. Just getting back into this and had this kit sitting on the shelf for a while. The first model car I did was a Beer Wagon so it's kind of appropriate that getting back into this I would start with one . I am trying to shake the rust off but it's not easy. I'm sure (hoping) this one comes out better than my first attempt at 8. At least I'm not painting with Q-tips now (even if it might look like I did)
  15. WOW. Nice detailing I still have my training wheels on
  16. Randy...It looks like a good start and BTW I'm up your way.
  17. Nice and where did you get the wheels?
  18. Funny how similar the two cars look side by side with the exception of the taillights they might have been designed by the same guy. They look great almost can imagine getting in and driving either.
  19. Welcome I'm getting back into it too. The nice thing about the layoff is now i can afford a $20 kit a lot easier than the $2.25 kits when I was a kid The bad thing is now I need a magnifying glass to see what I'm doing
  20. Hi all...New here from the Akron-Canton area of O-HI-O Since I have a pretty big gap in my model building timeline (35 years or so) I guess I'm a re-newbie to all this. Looking to get back into it and bought some kits and gonna build them as soon as i get my basement remodel done. Looking to find out a basics tutorial as far as what products do I need to get started with. What kinds of paints are better and that kind of stuff. I am amazed at the stuff I've seen on this forum as far as detail and imagination... Thanks for having me and i hope to contribute Mike
