  1. Doing a '55 Bel Air..The chrome strips that run from the door to the bumper is making me nervous ..How would you glue that on and not get glue all over the paint..Iwas thinking of using blue tape to protect it but I backed off that idea for now
  2. What ever you do don't put the cap in a vise and twist the glass with your hand..... I did that when I was 11 and still have the scar between my thumb and index finger (6 stitches and a very upset mom)
  3. Welcome....Another former LI'er. (Islip)...
  4. I just bought a 200C with a V-6. It's a quick car. I did like the S but the wife liked the C
  5. New stuff can go also pretty quick. Just got my wife a 2015 Chrysler 200C (V6) . From roadtest info it is the equal of a '68 Camaro in 0-60 and 1/4 mile performance and it's basically a family car.
  6. Raw water cooled is easiest. Otherwise you have to have a way to vent a lot of air out of the engine compartment. BTW a really cool build.
  7. I was thinking the same with wires going to the amps. I'll agree the guitars should be different too
  8. Doing the Monogram Garbage truck....Any suggestions as to colors of the band? Also looking to get "depth" on the figures I tried a light wash of black but it looked crappy. I do have earth toned chalk. Should I just use the next darkest color and hit them with Dullcote? Thanks for looking!
  9. He does have a point. I'm sure a $400 cocktail dress (with a designer tag) made in Honduras or China probably is close to that example. If it costs them 49ยข to make and they can sell them at $15.99 they will. The original point was a kit sells for not much more than the parts pack does. The parts pack was just wheels and tires, without the rest of the kit.
  10. What particular colors are being used that come close to actual skin tones. I have to paint some figures for the Monogram Garbage truck (the rock trio) and wanted to be truer to what it should be as far as skin color and hair color.
  11. Anyone do race car haulers? I'm looking for some ideas.....Any kind at all. Vintage, NASCAR, Drag, Salt flats either pictures of real or a done model would be helpful Thanks in advance
  12. I've been looking for flocking to do my interiors and I'm coming up with (what seems to me anyway) is that it's not an everyday item at the hobby shops ( I could be wrong on this) I'm looking for a selection of the basic colors kind of like in a kit but not seeing it. Is there a basic starter kit out there?
  13. Is Ollies restocking the kits or once a store is empty that's it?
  14. How do you get the "depth" in the creases and frown lines?
  15. Wow that is great.....Either I must better my skills or walk away from the hobby.......
  16. Take a look at some 1963-1965 car magazines........There were some horrific custom cars then. I like he two of these tho
  17. Never thought of Elmers. Glad I asked Thanks all
  18. What do you guys use to temporarily assemble your models? I need to make a console to fit one and it's a PITA taping the interior tub and dash together so I can check for fit
