  1. looking forward to seeing this with the drive train installed. Great looking work so far.
  2. This is my first time doing a build thread so thank you for all the inspiration and advice on this site. Thank you for taking the time to check it out and I am always open to advice and comments. I started with a AMT '55 Cameo kit and then changed the bed out with a '57 Cameo for a little more styling. The frame and suspension components I designed on the computer and had 3D printed. Tuck Trends magazine out of Japan did a photo shoot and article on the chassis. The truck was then sectioned about 2" to scale through the mid section below the belt line at the cab and across the bottom of the bed sides. It is a subtle mode but I think gets the look I was going for. Next the front inner fenders were removed for added clearance. I then used some styrene sheets and squadron putty to shave the back of cab and body work the section. Door Handles and some emblems were then shaved and first of many coats of primer sprayed on the cab. I then swapped out the hood for a 57 hood and shaved the emblem and body worked the bed sides from the section as well as shaving the mid section of the rear bumper and sectioned and shaved the tailgate. I also did not like how Cameo factory bedsides don't align flush with the sides of the cab so I then sectioned the bed from front to back to bring in the sides for a better fit and alignment more like a 58-59 Apache bed. More to come shortly..... Please let me know your thoughts so far.

  10. This is turning into a really cool build. Looking forward to seeing more of it. How did you do those seat inserts??
  11. Mademan I was wondering when you printed the wheels in 3D did you print them as a one piece wheel or do you print the hoop and then the face of the rim? Also I was wondering what the tires are from? Kit or 3D?
  12. Build is looking amazing. Do you sell the wheels or any other types of wheels? Great detail in the conversion.
  13. Looking forward to seeing this move forward. I like both of the wheel options you have shown so far.
  14. Thanks Jeffs396. I was also wondering though how he got them into the 3D printer. If he made them from scratch or if he was able to scan a short bed side and then stretch it in the computer.?
  15. Eero, Great build here. The realism is amazing. I love the 3D printed bedsides. I am just now learning to try and utilize the 3D printing aspect of this hobby. I would love to learn more on how you made the file for the long bed sides. Did you scan the short bed parts and stretch? Amazing and I also feel that they would be great sellers. I am working on building a replica of my buddies truck and need a long bed conversion for that. Pleas let me know if you are thinking of producing those or PM me if you would be interested in selling even just another set? Thank you
  16. I tried looking around this board to see about finding a Dodge conversion kit. So you remember what heading it was under?
  17. Looks great. Can I ask what did you use to strip the plated pieces and the what did you paint them with to get that amazing finish? Thanks for posting all the great pics
  18. Toyota Mini Standard cab Aoshima kit. I really am enjoying the builds on here and thought I would share my latest completion. Looking forward to hearing some thoughts. Hope y'all like it. Its my first completion since getting back to modeling after about a 10 year break (by circumstance not choice).
  19. Wow these are just some amazing builds. The level of detail is just second to none. Love the Yenko Camaro dragster. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to seeinf more over the year and hope i can get to even half that level of detail.
  20. Thanks Cole. I am hoping to do some picture posts of my last build and will see what else I can find. I haven't completed a kit in quite a while due to having a couple kids and life getting in the way but am working my way back into it now that the kids don't try swalloing my parts.
