At least it does not have a Chevy small block.

That is correct - all real stunts and no computer editing.

1973 was a long time ago. Anyone under 30 probably has no clue there was a 1st Eleanor and the movie was a "remake".

I forgot how long ago I bought this resin copy of either the MPC or AMT kit (not sure) but with a part here and a part there it is coming together. I need to finish the engine compartment and add exhaust tips, mirrors, and whatever else comes to mind. I went with a 428CJ from the 69 Cougar kit and chassis from the 68 AMT Shelby.

I'm waiting for this kit to arrive in the mail. It's an oldie but goodie.

Hi Rex, is that your car!! Nice. This model is a curbside so nothing really to show for engine details. Those are some very nice pics, I will most certainly use them for the next build. Thank you for sharing
Steve
I wish I had a GT40 but having a FF Cobra will have to do.

I'm going to the NNL east and Charlotte for the 50th in April and then the Carlisle All Ford show in June.

No World of Wheels shows for about ten years in the Washington DC area. A club started a car show in late February at the DC armory five years ago and it's slowly getting attention but no where near the crowds I remember back in the 1970's. I'm entering my full size Cobra and there isn't a model contest but it should be fun as I have not showed a car there since the early 1990's.

It's relaxing and I feel like I have accomplished something instead of just vegging out watching. I meet a lot of great people through model building, I love building miniatures of the cars I like, they take up a lot less space than the real thing, and hopefully I can pass on my collection in a very long time to someone that would enjoy them as much as I have. I've been building since I was a kid and just never stopped so I guess if you like something you stick with it. Nothing else better has come along that give so much enjoyment for so little investment.

I have two sets of these.

Where did you get the braided hoses?

Max, Yes CSX2128. I'm currently thinking Sebring '63. However the decals and strips are a problem. I'll start a tread on the Cobra so it doesn't take over this thread.
I'm pretty sure one on the many reissues of the AMT kit had the correct gumballs and yellow stripes,

If I can take it apart w/o destroying it I will do that. It was super glued together so I'm getting used to using the Debonder.

Next time I give some parts to my caster I can pull the one off this engine.

The wheels look good. I have not built one with those rims.
