White western star
TRaymo replied to Chris guthro's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Looks good Chris the wide fronts and square headlights make it stand out. Looks like a big boy logger -
Looks good. Where did you get the sleeper from? Gonna have to make it a curved windshield too bein an aerocab. Possibly one piece glass too

List of big rig truck engines in kits
TRaymo replied to Bgrgbldr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I do believe all N14s are electronically controlled. And on the avaliabilty of a KTA 600 where is the best place to get one? -
Ok I'll have to try that I have some testors putty may look into that tamiya. Their paint is way better than testors in my opinion.

Nice ride. I just finished the big stretch on mine. Havin a prob uploading pics right now. I'm a lil sceptical on how to stretch the hood. Every time I have tried putty it done seem to stick it kinda chips off when I go to filing it. What putty do you use?

Good engines I'm wanting to find a KTA 1150 for mine but havin no luck. What wheels are you gonna use? Resin? I like what you did with the aerodyne. But I think it looks better with the flat top. Low and Long. Would look terrific with some 7" bull hauler stacks gangsta drop visor and big Texas front bumper! -
Revell is reissuing the 'Can-Do' (Steeps) tow truck...
TRaymo replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
About how long do they take to process ur request? I have not heard anything back from revell. The website said 2-3 weeks is this what you had to wait -
Started my W9 tonight started by just takin some measurements. I found the wheelbase a bit short 218" It.don't seem right to me. My 900L with 60" aerodyne has a 260". Also found the BBC to be a lil off so in gonna do 2 frame stretches. One just behind the front springs and stretch the hood making it a 900A and the other behind the sleeper making a scale 12" wb for a 300" monster! Gonna try and possibly open the grille and use stainless mesh. Also wanting to find a KTA 1150 any one know if one exists in 1:25? Anyway took a few pics of the chop will post later. Still tryin to figure a paint scheme. Can't do orange and white wouldn't want to copy suzuki cafe racer.

Ok thanks. I have not mastered the putty yet. I have a snap W900 I just started tonight. What engine you gonna run in that? And are you using the snap kit wheels? -

Ok. Yeah they are good wheels. I need 6 matching duals for a tri axle trailer. And the front floats are very useful -

Looks great "LARGE CAR" im planning a similar build. need to get a RoG T900 Australia and want to make it a 300" wb tri axle 60" flat top with a Big bad KTA! Btw how did you get the Aerodyne separated from the cab? did you just scratch the cab rear wall? -
The best thing I have found to cover the spots left from tree separation is get the shape right and cover with a piece of BMF. I use a Q-tip and really buff the foil it really helps bring the shine out.

So the '76 bicentennial KWs with a kta 600 were white? Not Cummins beige? Hmm.... -
Trying to build a belly dump
TRaymo replied to alangarber's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Should be interesting. Yku have a good start. I have a few scratch trailers on the drawing board. Wanting to build a modern tri axle bull rack. And a all aluminium drop deck or rgn lowboy. -
freightliner cabover

They look awesome. Ok so I guess I'll be buying a lone star kit. Prolly the only thing I'll use of that kit. Stacks and wheels. Not a fan of these aerodynamic futuristic trucks. I get 6.7 mpg in my 96 900L with a 425 C model CAT. And these new trucks get 7-7.5 is the lil fuel savings worth the awful looks? I do t think so. -

Speaking of stacks where did you get those bull hauler cut stacks? I did a set using 1/4 styrene but that shine looks like factory chrome plating !? Looks good. Really like the extended sleeper and you can't beat a long wheelbase! -

Do you still have the kit wheels and tires? And if so would you be interested in selling them? -
Pete 359, finally done....
TRaymo replied to tbill's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Looks good! I have the 359 wrecker has all the same parts as this kit. Good to see what that headache rack looks like assembled. And glad to see a correct color on that 475! Kinda kills me to see a yellow Cummins or beige cat like the box art on the snap 359. Where did you get the reflective decal for the rear bumper?
