GW Trucks W900 Cabs - Review
TRaymo replied to Jim B's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Why doesn't anyone make a 900L conversion? I know p&p use to sell them but can't seem to find them anymore. I don't want to cut up a resin B hood but it looks like my only choice -

What tamiya kit are those wheels and tires from? -
Moebius Models Accessory Pack - Big Rig Wheel & Tire Set
TRaymo replied to Diesel Jockey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Oh, that's awesome.....Those wheels and tires WILL make the snaps that much better....Italeri has something out like this, but has a few too many other things in it that I won't use, and the wheels aren't chromed......Sometimes, that's all you need is some dadgum wheels......This will greatly facilitate some scratchwork for me..... Gonna look for those, right now.... I agree gonna make some scratch built trailers much more doable. Check model round up they have them for 18.50. -
Moebius Models Accessory Pack - Big Rig Wheel & Tire Set
TRaymo replied to Diesel Jockey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I bought one of these at my LHS last week for 18.99. They are a ten fold better than the snap kit wheels and tires. Only thing is I don't know what truck to put them on. I will be buying a few more hope they stick around. -
Canepa KW, new project
TRaymo replied to tbill's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The only problem with taking the air ride from the snap w9 is that the elephant ears are molded to the from and it is not very detailed. I'm goin to use the air ride from my T900 Australia on mine and the grill could be left chrome with a lil putty to remove the seam many companies make a chrome cover for the 1:1 anteater. Will be following this to see how to build mine. -
Canepa KW, new project

I have a regular T600a kit and the only advice I have is take ur time with the sleeper and the rear suspension in my kit is way wrong. Try in to find an 8 bag kw suspension to graft on. Are gonna build this box stock? With a tanker you should leave off the roof fairing -
Yeah. I heard about that one on Friday and had other commitments for Saturday. I will definetly go next year.

VN 780 and Dropdeck Trailer
TRaymo replied to kilrathy10's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Something I have pulled many of. 40' container on a step deck. You dont have to throw straps over it if you got some container locks on the trailer deck. Where did you get a 40' container anyway? I've only seen the 20' italeri kit. -
Peterbilt 352 "Pacemaker" 1:25 AMT
TRaymo replied to Pavel A.'s topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I agree with Sean. Definitely needs a bath. But very detailed. What do you use for ur weathering -
Thanks. I'm really only wanting the kit for the sleeper. I'm working on a 900L studio sleeper tri axle heavy haul truck. I'll prolly use the drivetrain from the kit in another truck. And use the cab for a big sleeper moving van truck. What kind of suspension does the kit have?
-
Is that the twin turbo Cummins?
-
I know this is not a new kit but can someone give me a lil run down on the amt t600. I just bought one on line and am wondering how the fit is and what kind of parts it comes with engine and trans. And what is the difference between the t600a and the canepa? Thanks

Austin Harrison's 379 Pete
TRaymo replied to Chaser's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Very clean. That's the way I like a truck long and low and not over done where you don't wanna put some miles on it. I gotta ask what did you use for the stacks? The finish is like a mirror -
Looks great. That's exactly how I did my dash. How did you know how much to scale the pics down for the atlas and stuff

Perry's Dodge Ram 4x4 conversion kit
TRaymo replied to Sportabout's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
If you want to make a 4wd vts ur gonna have to get a straight front axle (driver side pumpkin) and scratch a 4 link track bar and coils. I'm in the process of doing one now. Got a set of "Dana 60s" from bnl resins. Quality pieces. -
I have one of these snap kits and I cut the dash and pulled the center out and added some .20 styrene to make a easy reach dash it takes a lil time but is very doable
-
Since ur doing the newer style cab and hood and sleeper you should make that an easy reach dash. They did away with the straight dash in the mid 80s

My dad had a 96' 900L when I was a kid it was pink with purple fenders and frame. Very sharp truck I'll have to dig thru some photo albums and try to find a pic of it.

I'm new to the more advanced model techniques. I bought a bottle of alclad about a month ago and am scared to use it. I'm wanting to paint some big truck tanks and stacks and some flat stuff too. What do I need to prep the pieces? What to prime with? Any special things to do while spraying? Thanks

W900 tow truck vs. dumptruck?
TRaymo replied to TRaymo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thank you. It looks like the t900 comes with 2 sets of tanks and a set of 10 hole wheels and the trilex wheels? -
I'm not sure this is the right place to post this but dont know where it would belong. So here's my situation I'm wanting to build a w900A and I hear the w9 dump truck has a sleeper in the box? I'm wanting a true 900A the RoG t900 is a long hood as is the dumper and tow truck versions. Well from what I can tell they are. Can anyone shed any light on this does the w9 dumper have the sleeper in it? What about the w9 tow truck? I was planing on getting a t900 but it is RHD and has spoke wheels. Any info would be greatly appreciated
