  1. Thanks all. David, I wanted the nerfs to have that little bit of angle to them. Again, I fabricated them from left-over tree-pieces... Next time I'll do better. The carbs are from the Parts Box in Australia. They're okay, but look at empinuts' threads in the Resin forum under "VW Induction". I think his are better. As far as lowering, I just cut and dropped the spindles for a slight lowering. I'll get back on this thing in a day or two. I've been doing some builds for friends and the 'Bug got put on the backburner. I need to get a Dremel tool (mine is loaned out) to do some grinding on the interior for clearance due to the lowering. A broken-ankle makes just runnin' to the store to pick up tools and supplies difficult and besides- we live in the middle of the woods (the way I like it) and it's forty-five minutes to town anyway. Dale
  2. Absolutely perfect. Keep it up. Dale
  3. Good luck friend. Same boat here- 37 years between builds. I'm havin' a blast- hope you do too. And there's TONS of help available here. Dale
  4. Okrasa (or someone) made a BLOWER for the diminutive 36 hp bug motor too. ALL this would be cool for buildin' models. A guy can dream. Dale
  5. If that thang was any lower it'd be underground. Neat. Dale
  6. I thought about it Simon- not for profit or as a business, but it would be an interesting avenue to take. I don't know a thing about it. At all... Dale
  7. Betcha he surprises a few folks. Dale
  8. Well Dante, it seems to be what this forum is all about. And I know little, but I do know bugs. And you take the nicest, un-restored beetle in the world, and the battery storage will be rusted. That just sounds weird. Dale
  9. I always liked the movie, and of course the car speaks for itself. Neat idea! Dale
  10. Well, I was kiddin' about the over-sized jugs. Kind off. Thanks again for the info. Wildy awaiting new parts. I've owned four 1835's- sweet streetable engines. I also built one 2180 stroker. THAT was a handful... Dale
  11. Looks ugly. Neatly done, but ugly. As an owner of many a beetle, and more than a few BEAT-les, you need to almost completely remove the floor pan underneath the rear passenger seat, where the battery is. Trust me- that's the first place to go. I'll re-iterate. Poor beetle... Dale
  12. Neat. I wondered where your venturis were comin' from. Thanks. Dale
  13. Okay- who's got the best alternator? Best shroud? How about a deep sump? 92mm jugs? Okay, I'm gettin' carried away. Dale
  14. SWEEET! Man, you may have just became my hero. Any time frame on this? Not that I'm anxious or anything. Did I mention SWEET? Dale
  15. Thank you sir... I am ready to spend some bucks to get good parts. Seriously. Dale
  16. VERY neat. I too dig the dirt trackers. I think the window netting is a little out-of-scale (too large) but you are definitely on the right track. Keep up the good work. Dale
  17. Neat car- looks great. Question- did you mask & paint the stripes? Dale
  18. Thanks for the info, Bill. Dale
  19. Yep- us NUTS know. Great builds! Dale
  20. Love these things... did you build the dual-port manifolds, or does this kit maybe come with them? Dale
  21. Thanks for the tip Tom! Dale
  22. Man I love bein' right. For a change. Dale
  23. Big 'ole slobberin' motors, hittin' you in the chest with a deep basso beat. And they're still IDLING... Rock and roll! Dale
  24. I'd like to find one (or three) of these. Nice. Dale
