I'm thinking that small dust particles are causing scratches when I'm polishing, is this a common issue? I recent;y used all of my micromesh from 3200 to 12000 grit and noticed that while I'm polishing that I'm actually putting tiny scratches back into the finish even after using Tamiya polishing compounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve C.

Hi Brettly, , I do think there is some PE parts. Ive seen some really nice builds of this kit out there, and I hope this one will at the least be acceptable. Take care, Steve

This is one of the other cars I have been working on for a while. This is a mainly out of box build. So far its been very enjoyable to build. Hopefully I can finish it by next month. Steve C.

Thank you Wayne for responding. I gave my X2.0 away a few years ago. I didn't think I would need it for anything after polishing my the headlight lenses. Well its off the the auto store to get some more. Take care Wayne, Steve C.

Hi Bill, thank you for responding. I do have a few sets of micromesh. I figured that would be what I would have to do. I worked on the body yesterday for 14 hours straight polishing and waxing wet sanding and re polishing. Looks like I'm going to have to do it again. Thank you Bill. I will re post in a day or two. Steve C.

I hope I'm doing this right. I have already stripped this car twice both times failed. I primed with Tamiya fine white, first a light coat then with a little heavier coat, wet sanded cleaned and dried. I painted the body with Scale finishes Red bull blue which has a very fine metallic in it. I didn't want to do any wet sanding in fear of making the same mistake by getting blotches,so I just used a paper towel to knock down the surface texture, the paint lays down flat when sprayed. The next step I used Tamiya TS-13 gloss out of the can by spraying a few light mist coats real fast back and forth, and then let it dry for a few hours. Then I sprayed a 3 more heavier coats and let it dry overnight. I wet sanded any dust particles as you can see in the pics extremely careful with 1000 grit automotive wet/dry sandpaper. After doing all of this I still have orange peal in the clear coat. Will this go away after 3-4 more heavier coats of the clear? Thanks, Steve C.

Hi Lee Merry Christmas!! Thank you for pointing that out. I did look again at the real photos and they do droop down and then come up and over. Is there somewhere I can find those small wires and harneses? I made the clear wires from stretched clear sprue. Steve Cook

Thank you Harry, I have been using future for a good 20 years plus, also thank you for helping me to get to the correct forum. Im just a tad bit warry of using lacquer over decals and am looking for a medium protectant to go over the decals and then spray on the lacquer. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you, Steve Cook

Thank you Joseph. I have been using future for over 20 years and it does work great for mostly everything I do after I have painted something, and want to eith decal or dip glass. I also have a passion for using a clear lacquer that can be polished to a very high shine. Is there a protectant for the decals before applying any lacquer, or should I apply a light mist coat of lacquer to the decals and work my way up carefully?
