  1. Thanks everyone for the nice comments and for looking, the '50 has the most custom bodywork that I've ever put into any of my models and IO think my favorite build to date. Camaroman, I think the wheels on the '55 are Aoshima, but not positive about that, sorry. Thank again, Dave
  2. Both AMT kits, the '55 was built just over a year ago, mini tubs, Big Block with Edelbrock photoetch valvecover and aircleaner tops, custom interior, painted Fiery Orange. The '50 has had a scale 3" chop, 4" section, quad headlights, one bar removed from grill, front rollpan, custom bed, tailgate, taillights from AMT '59 Elcamino, real Cedar in bed and on door panels, Straight six engine with 3 carbs and solder headers, painted HOK Lapids Blue.
  3. Couple more pics, I did build a different tailgate, got ride of the wood Bowtie and as you can see Raul, I keep the factory style running boards. Thanks for Looking, Dave
  4. A little more progress this weekend, Finally Paint!!!!!! This has been the third or forth paint job on this truck, either the body work was just not right or something else i did. The final color is Lapids Blue by HOK, originally was going to be Galaxy Grey by HOK but ran out of that color. Now do I dare painting some graphics on it???? enjoy the pics.....
  5. Finally got some more done to my truck. Got the bed all done, made a rear roll pan, frenched in the custom taillights from the AMT 59 ElCamino into the end of the bed, added real Cedar bed floor (thanks Fletch for the idea) and using real aluminum strips for the bed. and finally cut a Bowtie in the tailgate and that will have a piece of Cedar cut to completely fill it in. Also got some done on the front end. Cut one bar out of the grill, made a lower front roll pan, added a strip between the hood and grill and finally started molding in a set of dual headlights, just have to add a couple more pieces of plastic, some bondo and lots of sanding. Thanks for looking Dave
  6. The yellow cab would be perfect for a tow truck, just like the one i drive at work.
  7. I had the speedo of a 1987 Fiero Gt pegged plus a little more, the needle stopped just a little past 160mph. I was driving on Hwy 101 on the Oregon/California coast where I grew up. It took us just over 9 minutes to drive from Brookings, Oregon to Cresent City, California, about 30 miles total. That was one of the funnest drives I ever had.
  8. I will be there in Portland and will definitely get one. Nice design Jairus.
  9. You got a great start there, that will be one wicked Truck when you get it down, hope to see more soon. Dave
  10. Here is the chopped roof. I took 3mm out of the roof and 4mm out of the body. Next is to finish the putty work, convert it to a three window. That will be next week, this week is packing and moving this weekend, Thanks for looking, Dave
  11. Thanks for the compliments. This was the first time I tried sectioning a model and it wasn't as bad as I thought, I just have to redo the hood, its off just a little on one side. Raul I watched your WIP on your truck, it, along with your other are great builds and great looking trucks. Thanks again for looking and the comments, Dave
  12. I bought this kit saturday at a model show in Albany, Oregon. I have had some ideas rolling around in my head for some time for one of these trucks. Sunday I started on it, I originally was going to put a mid-'90s stepside on it and chop the top. I cut the fenders off and molded the stock '50 fenders to the '90s bed. Today I successfully sectioned the cab and hood, my first time tring it. Next is a mild chop and then the rest I'm not sure yet, no game plan. Thanks for Looking, Dave
  13. Hope you feel better Dave, The build is coming along great, I think the British Green would look great on it. Dave

  15. Congrats on the Chevy Pickup. I just got my 99 GMC Sierra Classic with 116k miles a couple months ago. Love my truck and gonna add a few things in the near future. Enjoy the new "baby".
  16. The front fenders were cut open a little more by someone else, since these pics were taken i have fixed these back to stock openings, Also triing to decide if I Should maybe lengthen the front fenders a little, havent decided for sure on that. I didn't like the way the stock body looked in the rear, it kinda looked like the angle fell off at the bottom, thats the main reason for the exttension of the body. Also plan on opening the doors suicide and scratch building most of the interior. Hopefully it will be done before the PSAMA show in Puyallup in early May. Thanks for the kind comments, Dave
  17. I started this project several months ago, It was an experiment using a Wood burner knife to chop a plastic model. I got A 40 Ford Sedan from a model show last may and started it and then it stalled for a couple months. This is the first body and chop I did. A month ago I started back into this but wanted to make some changes. So with some spare bodies I chopped another Sedan. This time I added about a 1/4 inch length to the rear of the body and rear fenders. I also got a nice Resin big block ford engine from a friend with some nice resin Milodon tall valve covers. To go along with the big block I am using the twin Paxton Superchargers from the Surf Woodie kit I asked about in the general section. Thanks for Looking, Dave.
  18. Yes I got it figured out thanks to a whole lot of smarta**'s. But thanks for the help everyone. I Was triing to name the kit I was robbing the dual Paxtons from and couldn't think of the name. They Are going to be set up on a Resin BigBlock Ford engine a Friend makes for my chopped 40 ford sedan
  19. I need help naming the old AMT? model, It just a bunch of pieces now but need to know the name to find out some more info on the engine set up which I'm using for another project. Thanks, Dave
  20. Here is one my ex-girlfriend built 3 years ago, her second model ever built, and won second place at a local model contest. She had a good time building it and she didn't have any problems with it.
  21. Chevy 265 305 283 400 402 BB 396 BB
  22. It was a great day there in Portland at the show, Great Show and Thanks For the First in class award for my 55 Cameo., This is my first, first place award. Also for the second place win for my 64 Ford Thunderbolt. Dave
  23. I'm keeping these rims on it, they are the coke bottle mags from California Wheels Chevy Wagon. I'm not triing to build a 100% acurate T/A model, I was just triing to finish up something I started a year ago and never finished ( got a few of these unfinished kits). I tried mathching the decal to a paint at the LHS and no luck, So I'll just keep mixing to get a match. Thanks to everyone for their input and info. Dave
  24. I wish I would have asked this question a last weekend. I have already painted, applied decals and cleared the car as pictured below. I have a decal set for the 71 Trans Am and they are darker in color, I guess I should have used them instead. Dave
