  2. I found a Rat Packer CHevy II and LIncoln Continental today at one Big lots, 71 340 duster and Monte Carlo from another and a 63 Ford Galaxie from yet another store. I have also seen a bunch of Corvairs, Escalades, Chrysler 300's, Bigfoots 4x4, Daisy Duke jeep and a couple Hemi Under Glass Baracudas.
  3. Yep, Another 49 Merc to look at. This is my first attempt at painting true flames. It didn't come out too bad I think, still have more work to get them better looking, but I'm happy with the results. The interior is painted Boyds Red and Model Master Interior tan and carpet is flocked tan. I bought a F&F Monte Carlo and am using the tires and wheels from that kit to keep the more modern look. I decided on the direction of the engine yet, but I have time for that. Thanks for looking, Dave
  4. Hey your just down the road on I-90 a "couple" hours. PSAMA has done a nice job of the Puyallup show every year I've been, and always some impresive model cars there.
  5. I've been to Model Car Sunday the past three years straight and a few at random before that. I'm not exactly sure the names of the people running it, but it was the same club as always. Last years show was great but not as big of a turnoout as the two previous years. Hope to see you there at the next show, Mercedes Benz is the theme for 2008. Dave
  6. Looks great, I've got one close to being done painted Dusty Rose Pearl with a red base and thinking about using the flame decals. You did a nice job and nice choices on the build. Thanks for sharing. Dave
  7. After seeing all the other mercury projects pictured here, I decided to give one a try. I've been working on it for a few weeks and this is the progress so far. I cut the smooth hood and molded it so it covered the open area in front of the radiator, smoothed the firewall and painted it a base coat of Boyds red with a Dusty Rose pearl painted earlier today. Plans are to paint the interior red and white and using the cad engine. Thanks For Looking, Dave
  8. My name is Dave Melcher, I live in Tacoma, Washington, about 35 minutes from south of Seattle depending on traffic. I have been a car guy most of my 39 years of life. I have been a Tow Truck driver for a little over 15 years and love helping people. I've been building model cars since I was a little kid and remeber my first model I built, The original Cop OUt funny car, what a disaster that was. I build a variety of car subject but mostly build muscle cars. My girlfriend Dana also builds model cars when she gets a chance. This is a great forum with some very talented builders and great insipation for my builds. Thanks everyone for showing your great work and letting me share my work with everyone.
  9. Well, $150 tow to Seattle, or $3.00 a gallon and a hour and a half to drive 35 miles. they are saving $$$ on gas
  10. Once in a while I take my camera to work with me a get some cool pics of cars I tow. The F40 in the pics I had to tow from Tacoma to Seattle, about 35 miles, and so many people driving beside me with their camera phone taking pics. That has been one of the coolest cars I've had on the back of my truck and even got to sit inside of it. This is a Ferrari GT California Replica A VW Thing A 60 Impala 2 door And a pic of my 06 Chevy Flatbed
  11. Glad it helps, someday I'll get all my towtrucks finished and built. Dave
  12. Just fill a small bowl with a couple inches of hot water from your faucet. Don't heat the water up on a stove, you don't need it that hot. Put the spray can in it for a couple minutes and then use it. Hope this helps. Dave
  13. Well here they are for you, hope this is what you are looking for. Dave
  14. I can dig through my collection this weekend, I have two of those kits and should have the instructions for them. I can scan them and email them or post them here for you. Dave
  15. Here is a Mr Norm Dodge Dart GSS. I was going to build it stock and then things changed as normal. I painted it Go Mango with a couple coats of clear so far. The chassis is the same color with some of the suspension painted gloss black and Alclad II chrome. I found a Hemi in the parts box and painted it the same color as the car. I got the hood scoop from the AMT 66 Baracuda and cut the hood and put it on but have to repaint that piece. The interior will be black and white with black flocked carpet. The wheels are from the 65 Chevelle kit in aluminum sleeves. Its been a fun project so far, thanks for looking.
  16. I finally bought an airbrush to paint my models. I haven't touched one in 20 plus years in high school. Here are some pics of a 32 Ford I painted with a gold base and Boyds Orange Pearl. Thanks for looking.

  20. Here is an 06 Mustang I built and won 2nd place in its class this last sunday at a local show. Basicly box stock with Fujimi Wheels and Tamiya paint. This is a 1966 Chevelle Wagon, painted Hondurus Red, flames, subwoofer and amps from Revell Escalade kit, flocked and Fujimi wheels. Thanks for looking.
  21. Thanks for letting me join the Forum, here are a couple Impalas I've done. The 62 Impala still needs a couple things to finish. It has a big block from Revell 69 Camaro with the intake from 69 ElCamino along from parts from the parts box. Next is a 65 Impala that is built mostly box stock with Pegasus 20" Wire wheels and underhood details done. Thanks for Looking
