  1. Yeah, I agree. I've got 5 of his items, the most I have from any resin caster. I got mine in Toledo 04...
  2. Looks good! That's only the second one I've ever seen built, mine being the first. I didn't even paint mine. It's in bad shape now though, held toghter not by glue but by ZipLock bag
  3. Thanks guys! I saw the Macks on Made In America last night on travel channel and it made me want to tear into it even more! I would never have guessed a gold engine, I like that as I enjoy painting things gold. I planned this one for hauling cars mainly because I have it already! That was pretty much the deciding factor for that...LOL. I'd want to actually learn what I'm doing before I try any conversions like that, and considering that this is one of only two trucks I have (the other being the US Mail set from 03) I'd have to shell out the money just to rob parts. Something that's not so easy for me to do, as whenever I try doing that, I always get an idea and end up building the so-called donor kit! (Usuaully finishing it long before I make any headway whatsoever on the original project!) I'll be starting this one as soon as I finish some of the things on my bench. It's gotten to the point now, that I have so many started bodys that I need to make room before I start anything else!
  4. Bobby, is that RMR's 50 Suburban? I have one of them too. Smoothed it out though, it's not going to be anywhere near stock!
  5. Not me! Could there be another person out there with my name? Must be! I have yet to actually get a car in MCM...Though, I did get a letter once. Thanks anyway!
  6. I have one of the Model King Mack DM800s that I want to build. I know what color I want to make it, but that's about it. It's way more complex then anything I've ever done before and not sure how to go about it. What color is the engine? THe chassis? The color is going to be Radiation Purple from Black Gold. I plan to eventually have it pulling a car hauler, but that's a long way off, I havn't even purchased the trailer yet.
  7. Where's the rest of it? LOL! Love the paint scheme....
  8. David, which Dodge are you referring to? Our TNMCC club theme this last year was overhaulin, which I missed out on as I have a policy of my own that I don't redo things after I build them. But, I just got a free Dodge D-50 builtup that I want to do something with. It's not complete and would entail scratchbuilding and kit bashing too. I'm not gonna miss out on this one!
  9. Hey, I like that Caraviper! Let's see some more progress on that Mark!! I never liked that Caravan kit. Ugh. One of the few kits I wanted to smash with a hammer. I like that conversion though! There are never too many projects! I've got something like 150 in progress. 89 of them are NASCAR. ' Where did the cap on the red Chevy truck come from?
  10. Gregg, if you use Fotki it sizes the pics for you. You can choose from a group of options but the base option is roughly the size of your third Rebel picture. Nice work BTW! The Rebel is my favorite. I like the more obscure stuff! Is that the Red Flag Limo? I have one of those but I didn't have any glues that would work on it good so I boxed it back up. That was before I discovered Super Glue but I've not gotten back to it yet!
  11. I work on a fold up card table in my room...it's not the greatest, but it's what I've got. These pictures were taken just after I set up to work again last month. It's much messier now, with parts from my Mystery Dodge Daytona and about 12 other builds on it. Mostly bodys! This is the Staging Area, AKA, my windowsill. When this shot was taken, I had some 1/64 NASCARs (my first, true love!) that needed to be repaired, and some that I made myself. I can fit about 9 models along it when it's clean, but it never is, I have space for about 3 now. Interesting enough, my fan was on high when these pictures were taken.
  12. Mom would not be pleased if I started storing kits in the kitchen...They are in my room, the basement and now the living room too...
  13. That looks real nice as a mild street rod, David, I think you just gave me an idea for the one copy of that I've been sitting on for a few months....Looks just like the kind of truck I would be drawn to at a car show!
  14. That's the kind of thing that makes this all worth while!! Fun time with your kids!
  15. I really like that Camaro Matt. Can't wait to see where it goes. What color is planned for it? That, along with the previous model, as seen in the AMT 70 1/2 kit, is my favorite Camaro bodystyle.
  16. Nice score! That's a really great price, IIRC less then half it's MSRP. I've read that that is a REAL hard kit to build up, pateince testing kind of build. But I think that was for the 1/25 version. I forget. The AM Corvette Grand Sport is high on my most wanted list. I know they are available now, but I just can't find one. I had a Matchbox of it when I was real young and I want to build it.
  17. Bobby...wanna move them? Brian I might be able to help you out with that, I think someone I know (A NASCAR shop) has a few of the Martins left... Contact me!
  18. Can't wait to see what you do with it Gary! Which AMT kits are you getting? I'm not a fan of AMT NASCARs.... Slixx made the 1998 decals too (which that tin-based car depicts) which would be of better quality....
  19. Can't wait to see it! Unfortunatly this one is long gone, IIRC Okey has nothing from this one. I would like a few of this one. Even the Ambulance that was put out in 02 or 03 is tough now to get, glad I did get one when I could.
  20. I've got nothing better to do, I work from when I get up to when I go to bed usually, with breaks mostly for food. (I like food!)
  21. Thanks Doug, have something in the planning stage that will be perfect for this!
  22. Would a factory 4x4 work? Like, something with an off-road package? I have plans for a full off road vehicle, but it's not going to be ready for a long, long time....certainly not for this contest.
  23. I just finally got my copy today, again another great issue! I already read it cover to cover. Could have used more NASCAR but what was printed kicked the gears in my head off on an idea for a couple projects...
  24. LOL Gary! I do tend to build alot of cars (60 in 2001 is my record, with an asterisk [*]) I've got 9 done now on the year. The asterisk comes from the fact that in 2001, most of them were of very poor quality. many had no detail other then a painted body, I very rarely did the chassis or engines. If I even painted the body, it was brush panted. 2005, the origin of 48 of my models, everything was painted and they were sprayed too. Better quality all around! I don't build for the statistics, but I love keeping them anyway! 48 is an incredibly high number (2002 had 8, 2003 10, 2004 17) and I had alot of fun creating those models! From late 03 until now is when I have had alot of fun with models. I will build #200 this year. I don't know what it will be, as I'm getting close. (If I counted ones that are in progress, I'd be pushing 300!) I will just build as I go and figure out what #200 is when it's done. I'm also nearing 50 NASCARs. I expect to hit #200 in June or so, provided I work on models all of the rest of this month and next month too. Maybe sooner, but it is highly unlikely I will get it this month. I have 9 more to do before then and while I probably could do it, I'd be rushing things and there's no point in that! Here are the two I finished and mentioned earlier in the thread. I displayed these at MASSCAR, and I've "Finished" another one, but I haven't decaled the tires yet, I'm out of dull coat and I want to wait, and I lost a hood pin and am waiting for it to get here before I photograph it. More of them on my Fotki!
  25. Looks real cool. I want to get one of them but I just don't have the money right now. I've never built a truck before but there's never a better time to start, right? Well, maybe a better time would be when I could afford it LOL!
