  1. Not to mention every Ferrari ever kitted by Tamiya, including but not limited to 1:12 scale Enzo, GTO, and 641. Also, the 1:20 scale F189, F60. In 1:24 scale FXX, Enzo, F60, Acura NSX(new and old), Testa Rossa, Mazda MX-5 and about 40 other kits. Too many to put here.
  2. Have one of these sitting on my shelf. Been there for the better part of 20 years or so. Bought it at a show at the close of business. I offered the vendor $50 and he took it. My how times have changed.
  3. This should distract them long enough to get it out of harm's way!
  4. I would guesstimate 20%. For a while, if I were buying a kit that I knew was going to be discontinued, I would buy two. My reasoning was that if I screwed something up, I would have the replacement part on hand. Kind of a self preservation thing. Now over time, if I knew something was going to become rare, like the Tamiya/Scale Motorsport Porsche 956 kit or Scale Motorsport's 935 super detail kit I would get multiples. I now have 4 of the 956 kit and 5 of the 935 kits. I think I always intended to build them all, but as just had my 70th birthday, I may have to pass them along to others to enjoy. One of the 956 kits is an autographed copy, signed by Brian Redmond, Jacky Ickx and other legendary drivers. That will never be sold buy me.
  5. Not particularly rare, but well stocked. The models over the work desk are two deep.
  6. I know it really isn't fair living in Southern California when it comes to car spotting, but this one caught my eye. Ferrari 488 just cruising down the 5 in north county San Diego. We were headed down town to Monster Jam with my grandson and this was actually going with traffic. No high speed pass, just a leisurely day out driving the new car.

  8. Just add some drone electronics and you are good to go!
  9. Yea, me too. I thought it looked like a good idea but found I didn't particularly like it. Nothing wrong with it, it just didn't do anything better than a regular handle. I also bought one that had a swivel head and a very tiny blade. It went to the island of disused tools.
  10. Salt eh? I remember getting runway deicer back when I was in the Air Force and lived in northern Michigan. It was urea based. Didn't have the caustic properties of salt and didn't kill the grass around the edge of the sidewalk. In fact it did just the opposite. We always had lush green grass in the spring. They also gave it out in the summer for use as a fertilizer. ?
  11. Don't have a clue! I live in SoCal also. Actually I am quite familiar with it. Grew up in Nebraska, went to school in Wyoming, spent four years in northern Michigan and ten years in eastern Washington state. Every winter I celebrate not being anywhere that it snows by not shoveling snow with the snow shovel I keep in the garage as a reminder of why I am here.
  12. There, that ought to take care of the fire! Maybe a little overkill.?
  13. And this one is cool because if the technical work.
  14. I have two for different reason and will post them separately. This one is cool because of the unique design.
  15. Trevor, I have the Tamiya saw(74024) and have used it to cut up a lot of models. The blade is very thin .25mm so it takes a very fine slice. I couldn't tell you how many teeth it has but is cuts cleanly and smoothly. I also like the long blade for cutting off major body panels or for running a cut the length or width of the model. If you are inclined you could come by and see mine.
  16. Yup, that is true but you might try a local pattern making shop. They may have some scrap they would sell you cheap or even give them too you if you are nice.
  17. So here is the story. When I was very young(in the 1950's) I got a tin toy airplane for Christmas from my Dad. It was an incredible toy. The crank in the top folds the wings up, just like the real deal. I loved that toy. I have home movies of my flying around the living room on Christmas day. It meant a lot to me. Unfortunately, when I was a bit older, I got curious about how it worked. It looked pretty easy to take apart so I did. In short I destroyed it. I will always remember the look of disappointment on my Dads face. Well, last week I got a chance to own it again. This popped up on e-bay. It is in near new condition. It has been played with but very lovingly. It wasn't cheap, but I decided to give myself a 70th birthday present. When it came today and I held it a flood of memories came back about me and my Dad. In the first hour, it was more than worth every penny I spent on it and then some. You don't get many second chances in life and if one comes your way, I suggest you jump on it. Your life will be much richer.
  18. Oh heck! Another fiberglass wonder!
  19. TURN THAT DARNED THING OFF AND GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY!!
  20. Probably not is good form, but I am going to go twice, because I know the next answer. or maybe this.
  21. Been there, seen that. Also saw this. I flew KC's out of U-Tapao.
  22. It may take two but the hog is going down!
  23. If motorcycles are ok, then how about this one,
  24. Dead man's curve take care of both the jaguar and stingray
