  1. Hi Tim, Could you show the stock manifolds up against the block, would be interesting to see if they look okay compared to the kits headers. I wonder if you could "fudge" the kits headers by sectioning them through the middle and rejoining so that gap isn't so large?
  2. Quick update for those looking to buy this kit, received news email from Model Roundup stating these are now in stock, although the site still shows coming soon. I am looking forward to this kit arriving in Australia and seeing all the variations on this build that I am sure surface over the next few months.
  3. Thanks for the fast replies, interesting how the stock manifolds you show are close in measurement to the new headers but don't look odd. I wonder if you could "fudge" the headers by sectioning them through the middle and rejoining so that gap isn't so large? I also have a 28 Tudor body needing a chassis, SCORE!!!!
  4. geez Tim that was fast, nice colour combo and review. looking forward to this kit, waiting to see what the aftermarket companies produce too. I am thinking hi-boy with Cadillac motor, the Nailhead will be going into a 32. Lo-boy with replicas and miniatures flathead and SCOT blower, so may ideas. question 1. is there any standard nailhead exhaust manifolds available? question 2. Is it possible to fit the body to full fenders?
  5. It's great to see this kit, thanks for the hard work to date Tim and your patience in getting it from drawing to production. Can't wait to see what the aftermarket companies produce to support this kit. Here you go, measurements off a 1959 364 c.i. Nailhead , these were taken free hand using a metal tape and phone camera. Happy to use a steel rule if you need more accurate measurement. spacing between 1st and 4th port centres 17 inches
  6. Sorry didn't check for the other thread and am more than happy to have this one added if that's possible
  7. Thanks for sharing your build, the colour choice is keeping with the period and your attention to detail is excellent. Would you be willing to share a bit more around how you created the wipers and interior mirror.
  8. Hello all, 3D printing is advancing in leaps and bounds, I have been following this progress with some interest and found this on armorama These figures range from 1/72 to 1/32 scale and the level of detail is pretty amazing. https://www.facebook.com/reedoakmodels http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=235626&ord=&page=1
  9. it wasn't much different in Australia. I have owned a couple of classic Holdens, a FB and an EK basically the same body with different trim, interior upholstery etc. the accessories were made available by the GMH owned National Automotive Service Company which outsourced manufacturing and distributed Holden approved accessories. A sample of what was available for the EK is shown at http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/holden_EK_nasco_accessories.htm My 59 Buick was supplied with the heater windshield washer and radio and I assume these were factory fitted, however it does have a warning light fitted to the handbrake that shows it is on, not sure if this is factory. My 58 Chevrolet is an imported RHD body from Canada and is a Biscayne body style put together by Holden and had to have an amount of local content installed and this explains the leather upholstery. These cars tended to be a six cylinder, three on the tree model, it also has no heater, radio or other luxuries. Higher level Chevrolet models have been imported and I know of one imporeted Impala and two 1959 Cadillacs that are factory RHD fitted with the auto and V8.
  10. It would be nice to see some more of these kits rereleased, especially the suspension and motor bike kits. It would be interesting to know if any of the other molds that haven't been reissued still exist
  11. Just to give you an idea of what some of the rarer ones can sell for and I know supply and demand will force the price up. I understand that this is one of the harder ones to find, but when does a kit reach a point where you either wonder why you paid that amount or that you don't want to use it because as soon as you do it no longer holds the same value? Does anyone know if the molds still exist for these?
  12. Great to see this kit, nice to see a new nailhead and looking forward to seeing what manifolds appear from the aftermarket companies (e.g. stock, dual, triple, etc.) should be easy enough to swap any othe engines in, thinking flathead from Replicas and Miniatures, the Cadillac motor (49 Mercury) or 348c.i. engine from the 58 Chevrolet Hope to see a follow on with newly tooled coupes and sedans, etc. would be icing on the cake. Looking forward to adding a few of these to my already bulging collection of kits. I have one question Is the rear cross member standard to allow stock style rear suspensions to be added?
  13. Looking forward to seeing this one done. If you need details shots, give me a shout and I will pop out to the shed and grab them, only can do hardtop though, how ever the exterior details and dash and interior should be same.
  14. Well done on finishing these, the paint is awesome on both. Great detailing on each car that adds to the realism.
  15. Outstanding build, love the detail and weathering. At first glance I truly thought this was a 1/1 scale car and you had been scale matches and a base.
  16. Hi John really liking this build Is it my imagination or are the finished interior shots missing? Both cars look good, really like the custom although I am not sure of front bumper I feel it looks a bit heavy in the front. However, I will reserve my judgement until the model is finished with paint and alclad done The trunk areas look great, will you be adding fuel/oil cans or tools etc, e.g.
  17. Can you straighten the fender and lose the hood to build a gasser? Look great with sponsor decals and a V8 with hilborn set up. Just a thought so as not to waste a nice paint job.
  18. Nice build, good to see it in another colour.
  19. Nice build, looking forward to see it finished. Go with the quick change.
  20. Awesome build James, I am a big fan of the Winfield style paint jobs and has given me a taste to get my full size repainted. You are right Tom, it is painted body colour on the 1:1 however it is a separate part so I suppose it could be chromed.
  21. Hi Rich, good looking custom you have got there. I like the choice of colour and it will look great with the reverse chrome or sombreros. I like the pin striping and tuck and roll interior.
  22. Thanks guys for the welcome, it's good to be here and met with a like minded bunch of guys. Hi Tom, yes I do indeed know Alan (AB), we are members of the same Perth and Districts Model Club.
